Up for sale is an absolutely gorgeous 2001 Pontiac Trans-Am WS6. This car is in amazing condition for its age and mileage. This one is equipped with the sought after 6-speed manual transmission. It currently has just over 75,300 miles. The car has always been garage kept and has never seen any inclement weather. Here is a list of the options...
-2001 Trans-Am WS6
-6 Speed Manual Transmission
- LS1 Corvette Motor
- T-Tops
- Much desired Red Paint with Black Leather interior
- Upgraded Corvette Z06 wheels with great tire tread(there is not one mark of curb rash at all on the wheels)
- Upgraded Volant Cold Air Ram-Air
Now for the bad... The car needs a new short block. The previous owner was driving the car and threw a rod which cracked the side of the block. I bought the car with the intention of either replacing the short block or just doing a clean swap with another LS1 motor but I have one too many projects going on and am looking to sell the car to someone who will do the repair and really enjoy the car. The car will run but I would not and have not started it since I bought it because obviously I do not want to do any further damage. I guarantee that you will be hard pressed to find a Trans-Am WS6 with the 6-speed manual transmission in this kind of condition. If you look at the pictures and check out the door jams its really remarkable how clean it is. The top end of the motor is still in great shape and can be easily swapped onto a LS1 short block.
I have set the reserve very low and the car will sell. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I will do my best to accommodate whatever the buyer needs in regards to shipping. Please feel free to send any questions along that you have. My cell phone is synced to my e-mail and I will receive questions immediately and will reply promptly. I also encourage offers throughout the auction if you do not want to wait until the end of the auction and you have a max price in mind that you will pay the worst I can say is no. The car is for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auctions end. Please check my feedback and bid with confidence. I have bought and sold many cars on here and I do my best to make sure the buyer is happy with his/her purchase.
TERMS OF THE AUCTION: THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD IN AS IS CONDITION WITH NO WARRANTY IMPLIED. THE BUYER WILL PAY A $500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT VIA PAYPAL WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE AUCTIONS END UNLESS ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE PRIOR TO THE END OF THE AUCTION. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCES OR DO NOT INTEND TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE SALE. THESE E-BAY AUCTIONS COST MONEY AND I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR DREAMERS. PLEASE HAVE ALL FINANCING IN ORDER PRIOR TO WINNING THE CAR SO THE TRANSACTION WILL GO SMOOTHLY AND IN A TIMELY FASHION. THE CAR SHOULD BE PICKED UP WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE AUCTIONS END WITH PAYMENT MADE IN FULL. AGAIN ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK THEM AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO ANSWER THEM.
GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!

GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall
Wed, 09 Apr 2014General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.
Junkyard Gem: 1989 Pontiac Sunbird SE Coupe
Sat, Jun 11 2022General Motors built the fantastically successful J-Body cars starting at the dawn of the 1980s and continuing well into our current century, on five continents. The Pontiac Division's version of the J started out being called the J2000 and the 2000, then got the Sunbird name originally used on the Pontiac-ized Chevy Monza starting in 1983. Here's a once-slick-looking 1989 Sunbird SE Coupe, found at a Minneapolis-area boneyard way back in 2016. The best-known of all the J-Body cars, here, was the Chevrolet Cavalier, but Pontiac far outdid even the most blinged-up Cavalier Z24 when it came to elaborate taillights. Because this is Minnesota, the car is a patchwork of various layers of junkyard-obtained rusty body parts. One fender has TURBO badges from a Sunbird GT. The other side has the correct engine badges for this model. That engine is a 2.0-liter, single-overhead-cam straight-four from an engine family originally developed for the Opel Kadett D. This one was rated at 96 horsepower when new. This one has the automatic transmission, so it wouldn't have been very much fun to drive. Check out that cool parking brake handle, though! And, hey, is that a full can of Colorado Cool-Aid in the foot well? You'd think a proper Minnesota Pontiac would at least be full of Grain Belt cans. It appears that Higley Ford in Windom, Minn., had this car on the lot at some point. Windom is closer to Sioux Falls than to Minneapolis. This final mileage total looks good for a car living in Tinworm Country. Pontiac built this generation of Sunbird from the 1988 through 1994 model years, though it was really just a facelift of the first-generation cars. Starting in 1995, the Pontiac J-Body became the Sunfire, and production continued until the J platform itself got the axe in 2005. This content is hosted by a third party. Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?
Fri, May 27 2016When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
