For Sale, Beautiful 1976 Trans-Am, all restoration done about one year ago. The car drives super tight and straight, it has power steering and power disc brakes. This car can be driven anywhere with confidence. The engine is the origional 400 cu.in. and rebuilt with less than 1000 miles on it. It has a mild cam with roller rockers, an Edelbrock intake and headers. The engine compartment is very clean and detailed. The estimated horsepower is about 350.The turbo trans was replaced with a 700R with overdrive so cruising on the highway at 65 the rpm's are at 2200. The rearend is a 3:73 posi unit and rebuilt. The car has beautiful black paint with a red interior that just sets off the black paint. The interior has no rips or busted seams. It has power windows and power door locks. It also retains the orig. am/fm radio with an 8 track player. The orig radio has been disconnected and a new after marker radio an c/d player installed in the glove box. This car needs nothing except maybe the Firebird chicken on the hood. When the car was repainted I choose not to put it on, just personal choice. All other Trans-Am badging is there. The decal can be bought at many of the after market places. The rims are factory, and in excellent condition with no curb rash or marks. The tires have about 1000 miles on them. I'm selling the car to make room for my next project I have set the reserve low on this car, you couldn't rebuild this car for what the reserve is. The car is sold with no warranty and the buyer is responsable for the shipping, but I will assist in anyway I can. Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
6 car mashups that God never intended
Sat, May 17 2014In the 2000s, the musical mashup genre saw a peak of popularity with releases like The Grey Album from Danger Mouse that mixed The Beatles and Jay-Z. UK artist James Pursey from Carwow decided to take the same concept of shoehorning two disparate things together but applied the concept to cars. Your opinion on the results will vary with your sense of humor. These creations are either some funny pieces of abstract art or absolute monstrosities that prove good design should be left alone. Likely the best of the bunch is the Lambotomic (pictured above), which combines a Lamborghini Miura and an Ariel Atom. Granted, the Ariel is little more than a skeleton to begin with, and the outcome looks like a slightly stretched Atom with the new nose and tail from one of the most beautiful vehicles ever. This could actually work. Though, not all of the mashups are quite so pleasant. The Porschiac WW RS (pictured right) is absolutely disgusting. It combines a Pontiac Aztek, which isn't a beauty queen to start with, and a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Obviously, the 911 is an iconic shape in autonobolia, but that can't save it from the horror of the Aztek. Pursey fits the its nose, wheel, wing, roll cage and stripes onto the Pontiac. The outcome: A design that will show up in your nightmares. Check out the gallery for the rest of the mashups, including the Humi (a Humvee and a Mini), Aston Smartin (Aston Martin and Smart), Rangerini (Range Rover and Lamborghini Aventador) and the Mazdafenda (Mazda MX-5 Miata and Land Rover Defender). They might not all be beautiful (or even pretty), but it's fun to imagine these oddball creations actually driving down the road.
