1969 Firebird, CA car that has never left California. Clean title. No rust whatsoever.  The floors are perfect. Paint is approximately 1.5 years old and has been wet sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. Full custom interior with sheetmetal dash, billet specialties steering wheel, autometer gauges, new door panels, new headliner, new carpet, new weatherstripping, new seats, roll cage, and fire extinguisher.  All exterior chrome is new (door handles, bumpers, window mouldings, and drip rails).

Engine is a 2004 5.3 LS with custom cam, 42 pound fuel injectors, shorty headers and a full exhaust. The engine was chassis dyno tuned at Force Fed performance in Sacramento and put down 333hp at the rear wheels on a conservative tune.  I can provide DYNO print outs. The transmission is a 4l60E (My wife said she wanted to be able to drive it...which she never did) and the rear end is a 12 bolt with 4.11 Posi. the car ran a 13.6 with this tune on street tires at Sac Raceway....if that matters.

The car has the Hotchkis TVS suspension system consisting of front and rear sway bars, subframe connectors, lowering coils and lowering leaf springs. The car has power steering and Baer front disk brakes, drum in the rear. The car stops very well. The battery has been moved to the trunk and has a proper cut off switch for road and drag racing.

The only reason that I am selling the car is to fund some home improvement projects. The car has been an absolute blast since completion and is very driveable.  There are absolutely no leaks, the headlights and tail lights work as they should.

The car is located in Folsom CA and I'm very open to showing the car to mechanics, etc. I am willing to ship the car overseas if need be, at the buyers expense...or even taking it on a roadtrip after deposit has been recieved.  I have over 30K into this car and I promise it will not disappoint.  Feel free to call with questions, my name is John and my number is (916) 606-1916.

Camaro-based Trans Am SE Bandit Edition borrows Burt Reynolds

Tue, Mar 29 2016

For some reason, modifying modern Chevrolet Camaros into the lurching, reincarnated shells of the Pontiac brand is still a thing. If you're the perverse sort that likes this kind of thing, you should check out the latest product from the Trans Am Depot, which comes complete with an endorsement from the star of Smokey and the Bandit, Burt Reynolds. Yes, the new Trans Am SE Bandit Edition has been signed and endorsed by the man himself, but what's important here is not the signature on the dash, it's the bits of Camaro that have been modified. Aesthetically, that means a Bandit-and-Frog-approved set of T-tops, a front-opening hood with a very large, prominent shaker scoop, an equally large and prominent screaming chicken, and Trans Am-inspired front and rear fascias. And naturally, Burt Reynolds' signature adorns the dash. There are plenty of reminders in the cabin about this car's Hollywood inspiration, too. Bandit decals can be found on the front headrests and center console lid, there are chicken wings on the Camaro-spec plastic door inserts, and the black-and-tan color scheme matches nicely with the exterior look. And power? Well, Sheriff Buford T. Justice would have a lot more trouble keeping up with this Trans Am than he did with the original. The 7.4-liter LSX V8 has been paired with a 2.9-liter supercharger which is good for 840 horsepower. It's fast and loud, and even if you can't get behind the look (we can't), at least this Camaro-in-Trans Am's clothing can impress with its performance. The Bandit Edition is limited to just 77 units with prices starting around $115,000. You can check out the official video from Trans Am Depot, which comes with a decent helping of Burt Reynolds, up top. Related Video:

Distracted driver crosses center line and hits police car

Wed, Apr 6 2016

Attentive driving and quick reflexes saved the life of a police officer in Hudson, WI, when an oncoming driver drifted into the officer's lane and struck his cruiser. According to KMSP, the officer was patrolling along a busy road through Hudson on March 31 when the crash occurred. Dash cam video from the patrol car which was released to local media shows the dramatic collision unfold. As the officer came around a mild left-hand curve, a white, 90s-era Pontiac Grand Am continued straight through the curve, across the center line, and directly into the officer's path. The officer was able to avoid a head-on collision, but the Pontiac still struck the driver's side of the patrol car. "Both the officer and the other driver are ok, however, this accident could have been much, much worse," said a Hudson Police Department official on the department's Facebook page. "So please remember to pay attention to your driving at all times when behind the wheel." Minnesota's Department of Public Safety estimates that one in every four crashes in the State of Minnesota are caused by distracted drivers. DPS believes that the actual number may be higher, but police often have difficulty proving distracted driving as the cause of a crash. Government/Legal Pontiac Driving Safety Coupe Police/Emergency

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
