1969 Pontiac Firebird 2-door Convertible on 2040-cars
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
I am always available by mail at: harrisrevard@juno.com .
This 1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible was originally sold at Lester Goodson Pontiac in Houston, Tx as shown in the
PHS (Pontiac Historical Services) documentation that will be included in the sale of the car. We acquired this
classic from a gentleman here in the Phoenix area who owned it for 30 plus years. It is quite obvious that this
bird was not driven during the summer months down here in the Arizona heat and prior to that spent its life in a
dry Climate controlled garage. If you have been looking for an investment quality classic convertible that is ready
to be driven and enjoyed then this is the one for you!! I will do my best to provide enough pictures, a video, and
an honest description to help you decide if this is the classic for you! Sit back and enjoy!
This ’69 Firebird Convertible has a great stance and shows off its curvy, sexy body lines just as you would want
it to. Extremely solid body that appears to have its original body panels, with excellent panel gaps. We are told
A professional cosmetic restoration was done approximately 15 years ago on the body. The body is extremely straight
and wears a beautiful, high quality Palladium Silver finish (which is also the original color). This Firebird
still wears the chrome trim that was included in the Decor Group package it was ordered with which includes chrome
trim around wheel wells and along the rocker panels. All of the chrome looks excellent!! Overall the body is truly
in fantastic condition but is not flawless. I did notice a couple of very tiny blemishes in the trim around the
front nose and a few tiny chips that had been touched up. This Firebird will get thumbs up and comments everywhere
you go and is ready for the local shows and car nights.
Lets drop the top and slide inside this sweet bird. The black interior is in fantastic condition with no rips or
tears and really barely any sign of wear. According to the PHS documents the interior was originally black and the
car even had a black convertible top. The original center console is in great condition and the original stereo
looks as it did back in 1969. Dash pad looks excellent as do the door panels and carpeting. Front and rear seat
belts have also been accounted for. Gauges are very clear and function correctly. All of the wiring from the
engine harness back to the rear wire harness in in excellent condition so lights and blinkers all function
correctly. The original steering wheel shows minor wear with Pontiac logo in tact.
This beautiful Firebird Convertible is powered by a completely rebuilt, very strong, correct 400 V8. It is the
original matching number motor I can testify that this car runs sweet and strong at all speeds! The Turbo
Hydromatic Transmission shifts strong and crisply and was also rebuilt. Handling is a breeze thanks to the Power
steering and newer front/rear suspension components. Braking was also nicely upgraded by the factory with Power
front disc brakes. This Firebird cruises along nice and cool and is riding on a brand new set of 225/60/15 BFG
Radial TA tires that are wrapped around a very nice set of original Rally wheels. This original high horsepower
Firebird 400 convertible it is a super strong, and great running classic that you can drive and enjoy for years to
come!!

Porsche Boxster Spyder to get GT3's 4.0-liter flat six?
Sun, Feb 4 2018It's been a merry-go-round the past few months, the rumormill focused on what will power the next Porsche Boxster Spyder. First came hearsay of a flat-six going into the special edition of a model line known for its turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Then came tattling that the flat-six in question was the naturally aspirated, 4.0-liter from the 911 GT3. A couple of weeks ago we wrote " we'd be surprised if Porsche packed anything other than a turbocharged flat-four under the skin." But Autocar has a new report that, indeed, a downtuned version of the 500-horsepower 4.0-liter from the GT3's rump will move to the Boxster Spyder's midsection. The Autocar piece follows a Wheels magazine article from last November, and the prediction isn't outrageous. When Car and Driver reviewed the last Boxster Spyder, it wrote, "the hand-me-down six comes from the older 911 Carrera S, not to be confused with the new turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six that powers the refreshed 911." If we can believe a recent report from Automobile about the 992-series 911 due later this year, the same thing is happening: The 991.2-series GT3 bequeaths its powerplant to the smaller sibling, and the 992-series GT3 moves to a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo flat-six with around 550 hp. Autocar quotes Andreas Preuninger, the Porsche engineer leading the development of all of these wunderkinds, saying of the Boxster earlier this year, "Natural aspiration is one of our main USPs. ... [We] think we can achieve throttle response and immediacy a little bit better with an atmospheric high-revving engine than any kind of turbo." We'll guess that means, by inference, that the GT3 is about to age out of naturally-aspirated university. The limited-edition Boxster Spyder might carry the torch with the 4.0-liter, with output somewhere around 430 hp. The Cayman GT4 could do the same. Or, who knows, an evolution of the 375-hp, 3.8-liter flat-six in the previous Boxster Spyder might burble out of left field. We expect to see the Boxster Spyder late this year. Until then, we'll wait to see what the merry-go-round says next time the Zuffenhausen horse comes around. Florida man runs down bikers in traffic
Tue, May 31 2016A Florida biker and his passenger got a nasty surprise when a road rage incident turned ugly on Monday. According to WTSP, Joe Calderazzo was returning from a Veterans Memorial Day motorcycle rally around 5:30 pm with a group of fellow riders. During their ride, the group got entangled with an overly aggressive driver in a Pontiac. Abe Garcia of Tampa watched the silver Pontiac attempt to run the pack of bikers off the road, which started the altercation. The bikers caught up to the Pontiac in stopped traffic, and a shouting match ensued between the bikers and the Pontiac driver. At this point, Garcia pulled out his phone and started recording. The exchange escalated, and suddenly the Pontiac driver floored it, turned hard to the right, and ran over Calderazzo's Harley. The Pontiac mangled the Harley and knocked Calderazzo and his passenger to the ground. The Pontiac then fled the scene. WTSP spoke to Calderazzo as he was on his way to the hospital. "I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously," said Calderazzo. "You know you don't know what's going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is he going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don't know what's going on." The Pontiac driver, a serial traffic offender named Robert Paul Vance, was picked up by police soon after the incident. He is charged with hit-and-run, a moving traffic violation, and aggravated battery. This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum
Tue, Aug 27 2019Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles. The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
