This is a numbers matching, rotisserie restored, 1968 Firebird 400 4 speed. It is PHS documented. All original sheet metal and rust free. The car was media blasted inside and out and epoxy primered before receiving the base coat/clear coat Vernado Green color. Purists cover your ears. I added the stripes to break up the green. I also wanted a rear spoiler, but did not like the Camaro one everybody else uses. The Trans-Am spoiler and color keyed tail light panel sets the car off. The purist will not like the drilled and slotted power assisted 4 wheel disc brake conversion either, but now it stops like it should. I have the originals. I have receipts for all the parts and machine work. A partial list is as follows: New Hurst shifter ( still have the original ), all new wiring, new heater control, new tach, carpet, seat foam and covers, headliner, door panels, Pypes stainless exhaust system, BF Goodrich T/A Radials (245/60/15), stainless brake and fuel lines, stereo with new technology, Be-Cool aluminum radiator, fan clutch, Pertronix ignition conversion, TRW .030" forged pistons, Crane's new version of the 068 Pontiac HO cam, Comp 1.65:1 roller tipped rockers, Edelbrock Torker manifold ( have original), clutch system, water, oil and fuel pumps, rear anti sway bar, new correct rear springs, re-built original Quadrajet carb and aftermarket Ram Air style air filter ( have original). I also have the original steering wheel assembly.
The engine has just over 500 miles on it. The car runs strong, corners hard and stops on a dime. It is always a draw at the shows. Please feel free to call me at 309-645-6106 with any questions. Happy bidding and good luck. Rick.

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am
Mon, 13 May 2013No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

Autoblog Classifieds finds: 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT
Tue, May 15 2018Autoblog's free Readers' Used Car Classifieds section is a great place to list your car for sale, and because these are readers, they often list really interesting cars. Occasionally we find interesting listings, and tell you what's special about them. This 1987 Pontiac Fiero was listed for sale at the time of this writing, but if the listing expires by the time you read this, feel free to browse for other great finds. Thirty years after General Motors stopped building it, the Pontiac Fiero might have finally emerged from the darkness. First, it was a humble commuter car that just happened to be a mid-engined coupe, then it was a re-skinnable basis for Fierorraris or other slightly strange kit cars, and then it made some Worst Cars of All Time lists due to its econobox ingredients, including its Chevy Citation suspension parts. But after a few decades, even the most mediocre car will become interesting as most of the examples built have been run into the ground; why not then the Fiero? The story of the Fiero is paralleled by a number of GM products, as it improved constantly the longer it was built, and by the time of the last model years it was quite decent indeed. And then the plug was pulled. The Fiero might not be a Toyota MR2 or even a Fiat X1/9, but it was made in two body styles, the notchback and the fastback, the latter of which looks especially good now. The Fiero also remains quite affordable, and the plastic body panels do not rust, unlike with the two aforementioned cars. This 1987 car advertised for sale at Autoblog Classifieds does not yet benefit from the 1988 cars' improved suspension, but thanks to its low, low 47,000-mile odometer reading, it looks to be in tip-top shape. The automatic transmission is just the three-speed affair, though, rendering the V6 car here more of a cruiser than a fiery hot canyon carver. Perhaps that has contributed to its good condition, along with the lack of possibly leaky T-tops. Could the Fiero have aged better than your Hall & Oates tapes? Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
