Up for auction today and for your consideration is a
1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible
#'s Match YT engine never removed, albeit lightly detailed.
#'s correct TH-400 Transmission
Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Top
This 1967 Firebird is just out of private collection and subsequestly up for sale. It is a correct code R-1 Regimental Red car with correct red interior. The interior is completely original in unrestored fantastic shape. The only cosmetic defect being a crack in the door panel which is pictured. The original AM radio and dash bezel is included in the auction, as well as the original parade boot. The steering wheel is free of cracks which is pretty rare on these deluxe wheels. All guages lights, horn, ect. work as they should.
The car was built the last week of June 1967 per the trim tag, the original YT motor was cast 2 weeks prior. The code on the trans is correct as well as the intake manifold. I have not checked the distributor, ect. The car appears to be largely unmolested, with the exception of a repaint in its original hue sometime around 1985, per prior owner. The prior owner kept the car garaged for the past 20 years using it sparingly to hop around town in the summer, which is evident by the owner verified 57,000 miles.
The front and rear subframes are in excellent rust free shape. The pinchwelt on the rocker panels is crisp with no evidence of rust between the inner/outer rocker where these cars commonly rust swell. It appears at the time the car was painted the rear quarter panels were changed, and they did a fine job. The trunk appears to be very solid and not pictured but included are the spare and jack. All 4 cocktail shakers are in place. The shock towers are original and appear to be rust free.
The paint is old, albeit looks perfect from 10 feet away, but as you get up close you can start to see some "crows feet" in places in the paint as well as touched up chips, ect. However, it is still great paint for a driver. The convertible top is BRAND new, and the car has freshly blasted and detailed rally II wheels with a new set of quality tires.
This car is not a "bondo bucket" or a body shop special. It is however, a nice original car holding excellent pedigree.
I am a advid Firebird collector and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find #'s matching 400 convertibles. The issue is this, if you start out with a "was a 400 car" or a "I put a 400 in it", your car will never be worth what a #'s matching car is worth. Truth be told the asking price on this car is higher than "some" of the other Firebirds for sale...but it is a real deal car, and not some doctored up clone.
The car fires right up and runs great with no unusual smoke or rattles, and drives great at 75mph down the highway. This is a very tight original car, and not some thrown together rattle box.
This is a great car you can enjoy "as-is" without putting any money into it. Sure, it is by no means perfect, but it is a very nice car with excellent provenance.
This car is for sale locally and this auction is subject to being ended at anytime. You are free to call me and discuss a "buy it now" price that I can add to the auction.
I have over 250+ positive feedback, however this is a new user ID for my business.

Porsche Syberia RS rally car is what you make when you need a Hummer that's fast
Fri, Apr 24 2020Some history: The Porsche 911's first-ever race was the 1965 Monte Carlo rally, entered because Porsche's PR man at the time wanted to show how much the future icon could do. A year later, Porsche began selling an optional rally kit for the 911 that included Recaro seats, a roll bar, and adjustable Koni dampers. Porsche produced factory rally racers until the early 1970s, winning Monte Carlo three times in a row before letting privateers carry the torch so the factory could focus on campaigning in the East Africa Safari. After years of painful lessons, when Porsche took its brand-new 1978 911 SC to the safari, the 3.0-liter flat-six coupe was hours away from winning the race before damaging the suspension, demoting the car to second place. Porsche fans wanted their own replicas, and finding the new 911 to be an affordable option, the SC — built from 1978 to 1983 — went from denoting "Super Carrera" to "Safari Car."  Porsche took a big step up in with the 953 rally car. Built to win the 1984 Paris-Dakar, which it did, the 953 introduced the four-wheel-drive system Porsche would evolve for the 959 in 1985 and the 964-series 911 in 1989, as well as the now-unforgettable 911-based Rothmans livery. All of this is what's fueling today's 911 Safari Car revival around the world. Almost all of today's builds start with the so-called G Model 911s, produced from 1973 to 1989, usually focusing on the SC and the Carrera that ran from 1984 until 1989. Fast forward to 2007 when a mysterious crew organized the TransSyberia Rally, a "sports-touring" event that stretched 4,500 miles from Moscow to the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. Of the 34 vehicles that entered, 25 were Porsche's purpose-built Cayenne S Transsyberia Edition. Put this all in a pot and you have the beginnings of the car that brings us here, the Syberia RS. It's said that a German fellow by the name of Kai Burkhard wanted to buy a Humvee, but the low top speed, around 50 miles per hour, put him off. So instead, he imported a 1986 911 "in collector condition" from Japan with the idea of rebuilding it to provide almost all the off-road fun he could have had in the H1. Burkhard tapped the Tailor Made department at German suspension designer H&R, and the two set to work creating a build like the 953 Dakar winner. This content is hosted by a third party. Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally
Fri, 13 Jun 2014The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.
World's only 1964 Pontiac XP-833 Banshee coupe for sale by Kia dealer
Mon, Apr 20 2020It seems like there has been a spate of especially odd car sales in the first part of this especially odd year, from the numerous barn finds and homebrew specials to the time capsule cars — like the BMW wrapped in a protective bubble for 23 years. Napoli Kia in Milford, Connecticut, brings us another, via Motor1. Len Napoli is the dealership principal and die-hard Pontiac maven; his father opened Napoli Pontiac in 1958, and Len held onto the franchise until the early 2000s, just before GM shuttered the brand that built excitement. Napoli got hold of the 1964 Pontiac Banshee XP-833 coupe concept, and put the car up for sale through his Kia dealership for $750,000. The exceptional price comes from the fact that Pontiac built two Banshee concepts in 1964, one this silver coupe with a red interior, the other a white roadster, making each concept a one-of-one collector car.   Motor Trend wrote a detailed piece on this one in 2013, the editorial tour hosted by Bill Collins, the Banshee's lead engineer. The short story is that GM exec John Z. DeLorean — yes, him — gave approval to a small crew at Pontiac to create a two-seater sports car to compete with the Mustang, because GM had nothing to fend off the four-seat coupe that would sell one million units in just 18 months on the market. Collins and his team took inspiration from the 1963 Corvair Monza GT concept, working up a fiberglass body over a steel frame, with a 230-cubic-inch overhead-cam straight-six producing 165 horsepower and 216 pound-feet of torque, a four-speed manual transmission, and 9.5-inch drum brakes at all corners. The idea was that the XP-833 would be "an affordable and fun two-seat sports car," the concept demonstrating the base-model price leader offering a lengthy list of options for those who wanted more. The white roadster, in fact, fitted a 326 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. Rumor says that Chevrolet execs didn't like having another two-seater sports car in the GM fold, especially one with a fiberglass body that held weight down to 2,200 pounds. GM execs took one look at the two concepts in 1965 and shut the project down. The two XP-833s lived in a garage for years, Collins and his colleague Bill Killen getting permission to buy the cars from GM in 1973 before Collins left to help engineer the DeLorean DMC-12. It wasn't until just before Collins departed that the XP-333 got the name Banshee.
