86 Fiero Strip/Street Project
For auction is a very unique project that has had much of the hard work completed. 1986 Pontiac Fiero Roller that has been tubbed and tubed, set up for SBC motor with front plate mounts, automatic transmission, floorpans and firewall cut and fitted ( will need final weld), 9 inch narrowed Ford rear-end with ladder bar applications, new relocated fuel cell in rear, new rear Wilwood racing calipers, new tires and wheels( tires has zero miles but has sat for several years, possibly needs addressing). Car comes complete with all interior pieces, will need front windshield and rear glass to fit intended modifications. Steering has already been set-up. There have only been a few Fieros set up for a front engine rear wheel drive street car, Not an Easy Task! At the Buy It Now Price , I have a disassembled 400 SBC long block that will be added for the winner. Heads and block have been worked and come with several new parts, They include: New- #400p std. Federal Mogul pistons New- Hastings Piston Rings New- part# C5N Doug Herbert performance Cam( specs available) New- Headman exhaust gaskets New- Valve Springs and retainers This is an older build that I would love to finish, but have other projects that I want to do more. In reality I simply need the room. The time and money invested and work completed and parts acquired, in relation to my reserve, means someone will be getting a cool unique project at a very, very cheap price!!!! Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon
Tue, Aug 9 2016During the 1960s and 1970s, station wagons based on full-sized Detroit sedans were the default family haulers, and many of those Kingswood Estates and Country Squires and Ambassadors came with unapologetically phony woodgrain-printed exterior paneling and trim. By the late 1980s, however, few were snapping up such wagons, making this '87 Safari that I spotted in a Denver yard an interesting find. Power for this wagon came from a 307-cubic-inch Oldsmobile V8 making 140 horsepower. General Motors used this engine in Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, and Cadillacs, finally discontinuing production for the 1990 model year. Was the "wood" convincing, even when new? Fri, 26 Oct 2012At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

After all, the basic plot of the film is about distracting the police to transport cases of Coors beer cross country. While Burt Reynolds receives top billing, the real star is definitely his black Pontiac Trans-Am. Now, there's a chance to posses one of these muscle machines actually owned by Reynolds, and it's already proving quite popular. The car is a '77 Trans-Am with the famous, gold screaming chicken proudly on the hood. However, while this is a piece of Reynolds memorabilia, it's not really part of cinematic history. According to the listing, this example was used as a promotional vehicle and then given to Reynolds with a title showing him as a previous owner for proof. Still, there's 400-cubic-inch (6.55-liter) V8 under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. A plaque inside the driver's door proclaims the car as a "1977 Pontiac Trans Am Owned By Burt Reynolds," and there's a Bandit logo on the door. This is just one lot of Julien Auction's sale of Reynolds memorabilia on December 11 and 12 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Bidding is already running online, and the Trans-Am is up to $130,000, as of this writing. For the true Reynolds fanatic, the auction also lists the motorized stagecoach from his wedding to Loni Anderson. It rides built on an International Harvester Scout frame with an interior reportedly from Dolly Parton.
