The Good: Since the car is 26 years old , I had many components replaced to ensure better reliability.(new parts are listed in parentheses) * The car has the ORIGINAL 2.8L V6 engine that runs great at only 49,800 miles. (new plugs, plug wires and distributor cap, rotor and new starter) *The 3-speed automatic shifts smoothly and quietly every time. ( New Filter and upgraded torque converter lock valve) * The suspension is tight (upgraded with new front shocks, Rear struts, new front upper and lower A-frame bushings, new boots on upper and lower ball joints) and a four wheel alignment job from Firestone. Note the bushings weren't warn , but the rubber was dry. * This car drives and handles very good and turns heads, everything is stock with the exception of the 17" rims and low profile tires. The Low profile tires out perform the originals by far , but cause a little rougher ride. ( Rims , tires and alignment cost approx $2, 000) * The car has a new (catalytic converter, Oxygen sensor and the muffler shop made it so the exhaust system can be removed in several pieces by installing expensive flanges.) * Brakes ( 4 New slotted disk and brakes are new in front and good in back) * Air conditioning system upgraded to new high pressure Freon standard (New R134 Compressor, Dryer and expansion tube) cold air. * Fuel
system, (new fuel Tank,fuel pump/lines,
filter and new fuel gage sending unit in tank.)
Could be improved: 1. The car looks stunning, however the clear-coat has some hazing on the hood, tops of fenders roof and top of rear fenders. You may be able to use some product to make it go away. I have several pictures with it dry and several while washing the car and the water completely hides the fading. The Car still looks good but will eventually need painted! I'm asking, A lower price because of the paint. 2. The
car sat for several years and I have not driven it that much, therefore the
door locks and windows are stiff.
3. The
rubber on the outer part of the doors that wipes the windows are cracked and
will eventually need replaced. 4. The previous owners had an alarm system installed, which I hate and would eventually remove! Here is why, when the key is placed to start, the system goes through a check and then the starter kicks in 1-2 seconds later. I'm not a alarm specialist or I would have removed it by now. Plus if both door locks are not fully unlocked or locked the engine will not start. (it happened once until I figured it out.) 5. The Engine Temp needle fell off the other day. But still works. I guess this is common in the Fiero. The gage is about $70 at the fiero store. 6. The valve covers may drip just a tiny bit as I found a little oil spot on the garage floor after a month of sitting. Look at my other feedback and you will find that I try to be very honest. good luck I have $6,500 invested so my loss is your gain. Please don't hesitate to contact me!

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction
Mon, 01 Aug 2011For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. Jay Leno tries out a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge that looks factory fresh
Tue, Jan 31 2017The latest machine to show up on Jay Leno's Garage is arguably the most iconic Pontiac GTO, the 1970 Judge. The example here is a radically red model and features all of the nifty Judge features, such as the mega-size rear wing, hood-mounted tachometer, and ram air hood scoop. The latter of which had a panel in the hood that would open up at full throttle to let in all that cool air from outside. The car is owned by the Wade Kawasaki, president of Coker Tires, a company that specializes in reproducing classic tires. Not surprisingly, his GTO features a set of the company's Firestone Wide Oval tires. That particular tire would have come with the car originally, but these new versions are built like modern radial tires, rather than the slippery bias-ply originals. The tires are indicative of how Kawasaki restored the rest of his Judge. Everything has been taken back to factory-spec. It has a stock, 400-cubic inch V8 that makes a supposedly underrated 366 horsepower, and it's complete with the chrome valve covers and foam intake seal. The tires are accompanied by exact replica GTO Judge wheels. The car even has the true, original interior. Somehow, the upholstery, dash, and other interior components survived in excellent condition. Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson
Tue, Sep 25 2018Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher.
