Introduction
Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS,LLC.  You might recognize my name or my business name from beautiful classic cars and trucks I’ve listed for sale nationally.  I’ve got over 15 years of classic car and truck experience.  I’d like to put that experience to work for you. Over the years I’ve featured many classic cars and trucks at multiple different auctions across the United States. I consign multiple classic cars and trucks at all four of the Barrett Jackson auto auctions every year. I’m considered one of the top consignors at Barrett Jackson.  I’ve had many classic cars and trucks sell in the top 25 highest sale priced vehicles for each event.  They’ve also offered some of my cars as the “Marc Schiliro Collection”. I was fortunate to have Speed TV at my new facility for an interview for Barrett Jackson that aired during the Barrett Jackson auto auction in Palm Beach 2012.  I’m a regular consignor at the Mecum auctions as well.  I also have had many cars that have been featured in multiple magazines and multiple websites.  I specialize in beautiful classic cars and trucks that have what I call “The Pop Factor”. I purchase classic cars and trucks that are finished, I redesign other people’s restorations and have also coordinated restorations from start to finish.  I’m currently not doing full restorations as it takes too much time and money.  I love what I do and I’m extremely passionate about it!

Two years ago I opened a beautiful new facility located in Seekonk, MA.  MS CLASSIC CARS is open to the public on Saturdays.  We offer about 25 classic cars and trucks for sale. We also offer complete automotive detailing.  Our facility is very neat and organized.  When you call you deal directly with me. I appreciate the opportunity.  We except all trades.  If you’d like to be added to our VIP EMAIL BLAST that gets sent to thousands of people when we get a new addition please visit my website and sign up.  Please also like us on Facebook for updates.  The power of networking is amazing!

Market
I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over fifteen years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only at the auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially the classics! I've learned it's not just the United States; it’s the entire world. Barrett Jackson stated, "Foreigners can sometimes represent 25% of the registered bidders at one of our auctions." At the Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale, AZ 2011 they stated, "There was a registered bidder from every state in the USA.” I've also learned that no matter the gender or age, all different people appreciate this hobby. Another example would be the Barrett Jackson auto auctions; not only do millions of people watch it live on the Speed Channel but hundreds of thousands of people attend these auctions. Every year the attendance of visitors at the event and number of viewers on T.V. increase.

Over the years I've noticed that the extremely detailed classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Currently the overall market is on the raise once again. Certain classic cars are on the rise and others are on the decline. Typically, the classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people don't own. In other words, there are classic cars that haven't saturated the market. The cars that are at every car show and auction and page on the Internet for sale are the ones that aren't changing in value or are slowly on the decline. Of course, if the car is spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. It's all about supply and demand, not a good or bad economy. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character.

“I’m putting my money where my mouth is”

I’m just a 38 year old blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz.  I was selling my classic cars and trucks part time.  Although I had my used car dealers license I didn’t have a facility that was open to the public.  Overall things were going just fine.  However, my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership.  I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership.  I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen and now have a lot more overhead.  Do you think I would’ve done all that if I didn’t think the classic car and truck market wasn’t going to remain strong?  I consign anywhere from three to eight cars at each Barrett Jackson auto auction at no reserve because I know there’s always going to be bidders for classic cars and trucks.

Description

1988 Pontiac Fiero GT

Only 7,992 original miles!

Yes, 7,992 documented original miles!

Clean Car Fax report that documents the mileage!

Originally sold at Brielle Motors in Manasquan, NJ to Angelo Fiore who lived in Neptune, NJ!

Original Owner’s manuals included!

Angelo Fiore originally purchased it as a gift for his wife as an anniversary present.  She didn’t enjoy the car and sold it on 03-01-1990 with 3,525 miles to the family I purchased it from!

The car was always garaged and only used occasionally.  The second owner passed away in 2003 and the car was inherited by his brother who moved to Florida with the car 08-13-2004.  In 2012 the brother passed and the car was inherited by his sister who I purchased the car from!

The exterior body panels are very straight and all the paint is all original!

When I acquired the car it spent many years under a car cover in a garage so the paint was starting to oxidize.  We completely color sanded, compounded and buffed the entire exterior to a beautiful shine!

***When we color sanded, compounded and buffed the door panels under the black molding we slightly burned into a couple of small areas. I had those small areas blended so you’d never notice. ***

This car is 26 years old and certain things needed to be restored or replaced for cosmetic purposes.  The rear quarter windows are plastic and spider crack over time so we replaced them with new ones that are tinted that look great.  The antenna and rear engine covers were starting to oxidize so we sand blasted the engine covers and painted them high gloss black and added a short antenna.  Both of these enhancements made a big difference in the appearance!

The original 15” black rims with polished lip have brand new tires that were just added and included with the sale of the car.  The rims were also starting to oxidize so we added a brand new set of wheels and tires that look amazing!  They're 18” TSW Silverstone Gloss black wheels with a polished lip.  The Federal tires are 225/40/18 on the front and rear.  These wheels look similar to the factory but much more aggressive!

The tan interior is 100% original including the carpeted floor mats except the headliner which was starting to sag so it was replaced!

The interior is absolutely beautiful and reflective of a 7,992mi car.  We completely steam cleaned everything and it appears like your taking delivery off the showroom floor in a new car. All of the lights, power windows, gauges and radio are in great working order!

The engine compartment is nicely detailed and home to the 2.8 liter V6 that is rated at 135 HP and 160 Ft.-lbs of torque.  This engine starts immediately and runs excellent! We completely tuned the entire engine including such items as the spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, oil and oil filter.  The coolant was drained, flushed and replaced.  We also painted some parts that were starting to show their age!

The front trunk compartment is also nicely detailed and 100% original.  The headlight motors were replaced by the woman I purchased the car from!

The undercarriage is also nicely detailed.  Many items have been replaced such as the front and rear brake calipers, brake lines and fluids and rear sway bar.  We also painted some parts that were starting to show their age!

“This 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT is a documented 7,980 mile car that has great history.  It has been completely serviced and detailed for the new owner to enjoy.  If you’re searching for a beautiful driver with low mileage you’ve met your match.  I would challenge anyone to find a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT that’s red with a 5-speed with 7,992 original miles and has some upgrades like this car.  I’ve priced this car very competitively and proud to offer it for sale.  Thank you.

     Marc Schiliro- The Owner

MS CLASSIC CARS is proud to present a beautiful 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT.  My first car was a 1984 Pontiac Fiero and ever since I’ve always had a passion for these cars!  I recently just sold a 1984 Pontiac Fiero Pace Car with 171 original miles which could possibly be the lowest mileage Fiero in the world.  The 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT you’re about to witness is a beautiful car.

Text from Enthusiasts Guide to the Pontiac Fiero:

“The plastic bodied Pontiac Fiero was a two-seater, sporty-commuter car produced from 1984-1988 by General Motors. Within this short lifespan over 370,000 Fieros were produced.  The Fiero was the first automobile to incorporate the use of a space frame design – which means that the plastic body panels were simply bolted onto a high strength steel sub-cage; the body panels do not provide any structural support for the car; they are only cosmetic.  This state-of-the-art design was later used on General Motors Lumina Transport and all Saturn Automobiles.”

The 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT is at the top of the list for collect ability for Fiero enthusiasts. The 1988 model was the best overall performing Fiero and also the last year they were built.  Pontiac only built 6,849 GT Coupes.  Of the 6,849 GT coupes produced 2,608 were painted red.  The suspension and brakes were completely redesigned for the 1988 model which cost Pontiac 30 million dollars!  Unfortunately due to competition and high insurance costs Pontiac made an announcement on March 2, 1988 that they would cancel the Fiero.  A total of 26,402 Fieros were built in 1988.

Over the years I’ve collected and sold a few 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT’s.  It’s been about 8 years since I’ve had one until I purchased this one.  One day I was on the internet searching for classic vehicles and I stumbled across this car which was a new listing.  I immediately called the owner and stuck a deal.  As the owner’s manual booklet and Car Fax report indicate this car was originally sold at Brielle Motors, Inc located on RT 34 at Alantic Avenue in Manasquan, NJ.  The salesperson’s name was Rich Campisano.  It was purchased by Angelo Fiore of Neptune, NJ for his wife as an anniversary gift.  She didn’t enjoy the car and only a few thousand miles on it over a few year period.  They decided to sell the car and it was purchased by a gentleman named William VanCott on 03-01-1990 who lived in Atlantic Highlands, NJ.

The car only had 3,525 miles when he purchased it.  This car was his baby and was only driven occasionally.  He belonged to the Pontiac Fiero Club and was a true enthusiast.  Unfortunately, he passed in late 2003 and his brother inherited the car as part of the estate.  His brother moved to Florida on 08-29-2004 and brought the car with him. The car now had roughly 6,800 original miles.  The car was being stored in his garage with a car cover and really was only started and driven around the block a few times a year.

Unfortunately in 2011 he passed and his sister inherited the car as part of the estate.  She took the car to a local shop in California and some service work done prior to listing the car for sale.  Some of the work included putting on four new tires, re-charge AC, replacing the headliner, headlight motors, rear brake calipers and battery.

I had the car shipped from FL to MA.  When I did my inspection I was happy but we had to do a lot to bring the car back to life since it had been sitting for so long.  I truly feel like we saved this Fiero.  The first thing we did was completely service it from top to bottom.  Although the woman I purchased the car from had it serviced I wanted my shop to go over the car.

The exterior of this Fiero is in great condition.  The body panels on Fieros are plastic so they have a little bit of flexibility that helps prevent minor dings and dents.  When I acquired the car it spent many years under a car cover in a garage so the paint was starting to oxidize.  We completely color sanded, compounded and buffed the entire exterior to a beautiful shine! When we color sanded, compounded and buffed the door panels under the black molding we slightly burned into a couple of small areas. I had those small areas blended so you’d never notice. For a 26 year original paint job it looks great!

Certain things needed to be restored or replaced for cosmetic purposes.

Only 2,608 1988 Fiero GT’s were painted Bright red which represented 38% of production. This is your chance to purchase one of those cars 26 years later with only 7,980 original miles.  This car has great history, it’s equipped with a 5-speed, it’s fully serviced and fully detailed.  It’s ready for its new home.  Make the investment while prices are still reasonable. Get it before someone else does!

*** Inspection Report***
If you read my introduction tab or visited my website you’ll probably agree that I’m a perfectionist and represent very detailed classic cars and trucks.  My reputation and feedback speaks for itself.  No vehicle is perfect and I want to be 100% upfront about each car.  This car is 26 years old and isn’t perfect.  Please call me at #508-557-0152 or email me with any questions.  I’ll tell you everything I know about the car and go over the entire exterior panel by panel if need be. Thank you.  Marc Schiliro “The Owner”.

Classic cars and trucks make great investments and are extremely fun to own.  It’s so exciting to search for a classic, purchase one and watch it come off the trailer, add your own touches, take it for a ride or just look at it sitting in the garage after a hard day at work.  Classic car and truck collectors aren’t just in the United States but worldwide.  The classic car and truck market is growing every day.  It’s seen at car shows and auctions, in magazines and on TV shows.  Get your new classic car or truck today.  You only live once, if you can afford it, do it!

What's driving the spike in air-cooled Porsche 911 prices

Thu, Mar 26 2015

Classic car prices have been racing skyward in general, but prices for air-cooled (pre-1999) Porsche 911s are ascending like they're strapped to rocket boosters. It's been going on for years, and every year people are surprised by how outrageous it's getting: Classic Driver covered it this month, as did The Truth About Cars who included this example of a "scruffy" 1993 RS America with 215,000 miles asking $80K; Mike Spinelli at Drive riffed on it at length last year along with a host of classic-car-market observers; Porsche forums were at it two years ago; and let's not even get into the 993 Turbo, going for prices so high you have to lie down to look at them. Speed Academy has run a piece looking at why it's happening, one theory being that regular-guy owners are hopping on the runaway-price wagon without any good reason. As in the example of that high-mileage, scruffy 911 RS America at Bring a Trailer, the owner sees pristine examples valued by Hagerty at $170,000, and even though the average value is $93,238 he thinks something like, "Mine's got to be worth half of top dollar ..." The tide - even one rising on air - makes it hard to find decent prices. Then there is the flood of money into the market. In spite of articles that try to temper investors' outlooks on collectible cars, other articles in places like the Financial Times and the Guardian promote vintage metal as a safe place to put money and reap astonishing returns. Speed Academy thinks one side effect of high 911 prices is that responsible enthusiasts are turning their attention to cars like the BMW 2002, E30 M3, and E9 3.0CS, saying their prices are "sharply on the rise." The entire article is worth a read since it goes into markets far afield from pricey German steel, but incredibly, the entire piece was actually inspired by a 1997 Acura Integra R that sold for $43,000 on eBay. So while this could be the best time to get into the classic car market if you know what you're doing, it is certainly the best time to do your homework. Related Video:

Burt Reynolds' old Pontiac Trans Am replica sold for $317,500

Thu, Jun 20 2019

Following Burt Reynolds' passing last September, Julien's Auctions held an estate sale of the late actor's property on June 15-16 in Beverly Hills, Calif. Hundreds of items were included in the auction, but none more valuable than the Pontiac Trans Am Bandit replica previously owned by Reynolds. It easily surpassed expectations when it sold for $317,500. Julien's, the self-proclaimed experts in contemporary and pop culture, listed 876 pieces in the sale, from cowboy boots to a driver's license to scripts. The online preview said it estimated a range of prices from $25 to $200,000. They were way off. Item No. 716 was a replica of a Pontiac Trans Am Bandit that was seen in the original "Smokey and the Bandit." Not the real car, just a re-creation. But its value comes more from who owned the ride rather than what the car was. The replica was owned by Reynolds for some years, and now that he's passed, it's coveted even more. It's not the only Trans Am item that sold at auction. Three Reynolds Trans Am model cars sold for $640, $576 and $512. A Reynolds-signed "Bandit" poster sold for $3,200. A Reynolds-signed poster from the Trans Am plant sold for $1,562.50, a Reynolds custom-built Trans Am office desk sold for $4,375, and a "Smokey and the Bandit" decorative etched glass panel sold for $896. This isn't the first time a Bandit replica has sold for big money. In 2016, a promotional Trans Am sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction for $550,000. We also believe the exact car sold in this Julien's auction was previously bought at a Barrett-Jackson auction in 2018 for $192,500. If that's the case, somebody just made an extremely easy profit.

The prized golden 1965 Pontiac Hurst GeeTO Tiger is headed to auction

Sat, Apr 4 2020

Once upon a time, a Pontiac advertising executive named Jim Wangers created a countrywide contest with this gorgeous 1965 Pontiac Hurst GTO serving as the grand prize. The contest was centered around "GeeTO Tiger," a song by musical artists The Tigers. A 19-year-old took home the golden muscle car at the time, but now anybody can buy the rare car through an upcoming Mecum auction.  As a way to boost sales and awareness of the Pontiac GTO and its performance parts, Wangers partnered up with Royal Pontiac, George Hurst, and Petersen Publishing in 1965 to create a contest. Royal provided the car, Hurst dressed it up, and Petersen distributed the contest in publications across the country.  In order to participate, people were asked to provide a reason why they wanted the car and identify how many times the word "tiger" was used in the promotional song "GeeTO Tiger" (pronounced G-Tee-Oh) by The Tigers. A 19 year-old kid named Alex Lampone from West Allis, Wisconsin, won the contest and took delivery of this jazzed-up GTO at the 1965 NHRA Indy Nationals.  This content is hosted by a third party. The Tigers - GeeTO Tiger The prize car was completely kitted out and described by Wangers as "the nicest GTO you could put your hands on." It had more than 28 factory options, including a black cordova top, power windows, power steering, power brakes, a tilt steering wheel, a power driver's seat, dual-speed windshield wipers, a custom sport steering wheel, a rally gauge cluster, a push-button AM/FM radio with power antenna, and a Verba phonic rear speaker. What makes it stand out is the Hurst-inspired gold theme, which includes gold paint, gold mag wheels, and a gold-plated Hurst Shifter. Under the hood, this GTO has a Tri-Power 389 V8 engine that pairs with a four-speed manual transmisison. It also has a 3.55 Safe-T-Track rear axle and dual exhaust. Throughout the years, this car has exchanged hands many times and has undergone a few changes. It's been repainted, and the engine has also been rebuilt, but Mecum says it's otherwise highly original. Ony 59,000 miles have turned over on the odometer.  The GeeTO Tiger Pontiac is scheduled to go up for auction in Indianapolis this June. Visit Mecum for more information.
