Up for sale is a real clean 1988 Pontiac Formula Fiero with 75800 miles on it. This is a 5 speed manual transmission car with power trunk, tilt wheel working A/C, non sunroof, 2.8 liter engine, aftermarket rims that are rare and from Italy and a removable Sony CD player. The car has front Koni shocks and rear Koni struts, poly upper control arm bushings and new brakes all around. The cars paint shines like glass, but it does have some small scratches and chips in the hood and roof, and maybe 2 or 3 on the body. It also has two small spots that the clear coat in wearing through. The rear spoiler will need a re-paint but the car does not. The right rear bumper has a small gouge in it that you may or may not see in the pictures. (See pictures.) This is still a 26 year old car. The interior and trim are in great shape and the seats have no rips or stains any where on them. All gauges work as new. The front windshield has a small star but has passed state inspection with it. All four tires are in great condition. The New York State inspection is still current on this car. This car would make a great first car for someone a nice graduation present, or a great commuter car getting over 25 mpg on gas. The 1988 Pontiac Fiero is considered the best year for the Pontiac Fiero, because the front and rear suspension was designed by Lotus motor cars. The Formula model was faster then the fastback GT models, because it wasn't loaded up with the more heavy options of the GT. If you're looking for a show car this car is NOT for you. If you are looking for a nice clean original car with no rust issues, that can be driven to car cruises, go anywhere and needs no work, then this car is for you. Again it's not a show car but a real honest low mileage nice all around fun car for the money. Bidders with less then a 5 feed back rating must email me with a working phone number or your bid will be removed from this auction. I reserve the right to remove this car from the auction, if sold before the listing has ended. This car has no warrantee and is sold AS IS. You may come and look at this car at anytime before this auction ends. You may also get your deposit back after you buy the car if you don't like it or think I miss represented it on this auction. You will not get your deposit back if you don't come down in person to see it. Please also bid if you intend to buy it. I will only take Pay Pal as a deposit. You can pay the balance by bank check, certified check money order or cash on pick up. The car can be held for you with a larger deposit of $1000, but not more then a month. You still would be able to get your deposit back, but you would be charged with storage fees of $24 a day for the time the car was off the market. I also may be able to deliver the car for you for a set fee, but the car and towing would have to be paid in full and must clear the bank, before we deliver it to you. No more then three hundred miles round trip. Car can also be driven. This car is about 60 miles outside of NYC, close to northern NJ, eastern CT and north eastern PA. Good luck.

New Forza 6 car pack will let you race the Pontiac Aztek
Fri, Jan 29 2016Just in time for this weekend's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the new Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 on the Xbox One lets you slip into the driver's seat of last year's winner. If you want to take something much weirder for a spin, the collection also includes a 2005 Pontiac Aztek. The download is available now for $6.99. The Ford #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley Mk XXVI Daytona was in a four-car battle early in last year's race, but it eventually was victorious. Forza Motorsport 6 also challenges drivers who download the car to a new Rivals event around Daytona, and the fastest people could win Alpinestars prizes. If you're nostalgic for a classic Daytona racecar, this pack includes Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7. The V8-powered beast won the IMSA GTO class in the 24-hour event in 1990. It should be fun around the game's longer road courses like Road Atlanta. This collection also has an eclectic mix of vehicles that aren't racecars. The controversial Aztek and the equally-controversial 1996 Subaru SVX take their places beside a lineup that offers drivers three eras of performance cars – a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger, 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5, and 1992 Alfa Romeo Milano Quadrifoglio Verde. The video below shows all of them in action. Race to the Finish Line with the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 By Xbox Wire Staff posted on January 27, 2016 at 8:00 am With the racing season set to kick into full gear during this weekend's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona race, Forza fans now have a chance to get their own taste of endurance racing glory with the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6, available on Thursday, Jan. 28. Leading off the pack of seven cars is last year's 24 Hours of Daytona winner, the 2015 Ford #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley Mk XXVI Daytona Prototype. The prototype will be fielded in this weekend's race, which begins at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 30 and can be viewed live on Fox Sports 1 in the U.S. The Alpinestars Car Pack features six additional cars, each with a unique pedigree all its own. From the 1990 Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7 – also a competitor in Daytona 24 Hour events of years past – to the inimitable 2005 Pontiac Aztek (famous more for its fictional owner than its performance), this pack has something for every kind of car fan. Forza Motorsport 6 is the only game where players can drive last year's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona winner on the recently remodeled Daytona International Speedway.
Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon
Tue, Aug 9 2016During the 1960s and 1970s, station wagons based on full-sized Detroit sedans were the default family haulers, and many of those Kingswood Estates and Country Squires and Ambassadors came with unapologetically phony woodgrain-printed exterior paneling and trim. By the late 1980s, however, few were snapping up such wagons, making this '87 Safari that I spotted in a Denver yard an interesting find. Power for this wagon came from a 307-cubic-inch Oldsmobile V8 making 140 horsepower. General Motors used this engine in Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, and Cadillacs, finally discontinuing production for the 1990 model year. Was the "wood" convincing, even when new? Of course not, but it was a cherished American tradition. Related Video: Featured Gallery 1987 Pontiac Safari station wagon in Colorado junkyard View 18 Photos Auto News Pontiac station wagon
Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
