1962 Pontiac Catalina on 2040-cars
Flanders, New Jersey, United States
What started with an un-restored 62 Catalina original Florida car with only 1 repaint in it's orig. color has
turned out to be nothing short of Outstanding! The " STRAY CAT" as she is known to magazines and tracks along the
eastern U.S. has become a fan favorite at every outing. A very consistent car that goes straight and puts up
10.85-10.90 times along with 1.58 60' times. Not too shabby for a full size. The power under the hood is a Tommy
Martino prepped 455 HO block punched .030 over to 461 cid. Paired up with Butler ported heads and an Offy 5499 dual
quad intake topped off with a pair of Diamondback AFB style carbs. Shifting this power is a T-400 w/ an Ultimate
converter. Out back is an original BOP rear, housing a 4:30 gear set, Strange axles and a welded rear brace for
durability. This car meets all qualifications by rules for NSS class racing. New motor, trans and rear with approx
75 runs. This car has the best of everything and has over 60k invested into the build with the car.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
