Turn heads where ever you go. For Sale is a classic 1959 Pontiac Catalina. 4 door hard top. 63,000 original miles. 389 2bbl with Dynaflow automatic trans. Overall the car is in great shape, dash, seats and headliner look fantastic. Even has correct wide white wall tires. Runs and drives great.

YOU ARE LOOKING AT A SELDOM SEEN AND BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF A 1959 PONTIAC CATALINA 4 Door Hardtop. The Vista model is a no post hardtop with a wrap around rear window for an unobstructed 360 degree view from any seating position. It positively looks better than most 4 doors. Great attention was paid to keeping the cars originality.

THE FRAME
The frame requires NO REPAIR.  Recently the shocks, sway bar bushings, and brake lines were replaced. These parts made the car much more spirited to drive.

THE EXTERIOR
The Car is straight and All panels are Original.  Body Panels, Doors etc all fit ok for a driver. The paint was done in 2002 and has a deep shine. The bumpers can use to be rechromed or replaced.

THE  INTERIOR
The interior appears to be completely original. The seats, dash, and headliner are in great shape.

ENGINE  BAY
The engine bay is very original.  The spark plugs and wires were recently replaced during the last tune up. The timing curve was adjusted, resulting in increased throttle response.  The  Engine is  a 389  cubic inch  6.4 Ltr  with a 2 bbl Rochester. The engine is coupled with the Dynaflow legendary "Jetaway" transmission. The pontiac also has factory power steering for ease of parking. This pontiac has no problems being driven in today's traffic. It runs very well at modern freeway speeds and simply "erases" the hills and highway miles.

    Junkyard Gem: 2010 Pontiac Vibe

    Wed, Apr 17 2024

Just over a month before filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2009, General Motors announced that the 83-year-old Pontiac Division would be "phased out" by the end of 2010. Only three Pontiac vehicles were sold as 2010 models in the United States: the Solstice, Vibe and G6 (new G3s were sold here during 2010 but they were all 2009 models, while the G5 was available as a 2010 model only in Canada and Mexico). Today's bit of junkyard automotive history is one of the very last Vibes ever built, found in a yard near Denver, Colorado. This car is significant not just as one of the final vehicles to bear Pontiac badges but also as one of the last cars built by the New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated GM-Toyota joint venture in California, better known as NUMMI. The NUMMI factory began life as GM's Fremont Assembly, which built its first vehicle (a C-Series pickup) in 1963 and closed in 1982 after building its final vehicle (an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera). Rebooted as NUMMI, the first 1985 Chevrolet Nova (an Americanized AE82 Toyota Corolla Sprinter) rolled off the line in December of 1984. A quarter-century and better than eight million vehicles hence, NUMMI shut down production after its last Corolla was finished on April 1, 2010. While there was some noise about the Oakland Athletics building a new stadium on the site at the time, Tesla ended up buying most of the site soon after that. Tesla now builds more vehicles per year there than NUMMI ever did. The Vibe was co-developed with Toyota and based on the same platform as the ninth-generation Corolla. The Toyota Matrix was mechanically identical and was built in Canada, while the Japanese-market version (known as the Toyota Voltz) was built on the same NUMMI line as the Vibe and shipped across the Pacific. The Vibe/Matrix/Voltz got a redesign for the 2009 model year, but few noticed due to all the turmoil in the GM world at the time. The final Vibe was built in August 2009. This car was built in July of 2009, just before the end. It was living in West Texas just prior to coming to Colorado. El Paso is about a ten-hour drive from this car's current location. Once in the Centennial State, it got parked somewhere it shouldn't have been and ended up being auctioned to Pick Your Part. An occupant of this Vibe had time to sample some of the local agricultural products before that happened.

Jay Leno tries out a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge that looks factory fresh

    Tue, Jan 31 2017

The latest machine to show up on Jay Leno's Garage is arguably the most iconic Pontiac GTO, the 1970 Judge. The example here is a radically red model and features all of the nifty Judge features, such as the mega-size rear wing, hood-mounted tachometer, and ram air hood scoop. The latter of which had a panel in the hood that would open up at full throttle to let in all that cool air from outside. The car is owned by the Wade Kawasaki, president of Coker Tires, a company that specializes in reproducing classic tires. Not surprisingly, his GTO features a set of the company's Firestone Wide Oval tires. That particular tire would have come with the car originally, but these new versions are built like modern radial tires, rather than the slippery bias-ply originals. The tires are indicative of how Kawasaki restored the rest of his Judge. Everything has been taken back to factory-spec. It has a stock, 400-cubic inch V8 that makes a supposedly underrated 366 horsepower, and it's complete with the chrome valve covers and foam intake seal. The tires are accompanied by exact replica GTO Judge wheels. The car even has the true, original interior. Somehow, the upholstery, dash, and other interior components survived in excellent condition. Check out the video above for more details on this flashy muscle car, as well as some reminiscing about the "good ol' days," and some history on the origins of the car's name. Related Video:
