Up for sale is a very cool 1965 Pontiac Bonneville four door..
This car gets thumbs up and many looks everywhere it goes.. The car was
originally from Missouri and is extremely solid. The body was shot with a two part
epoxy primer that will not rust and is water tight.. You can leave it just like this without
the worry of ruining the body or having rust coming through even if you drive
right through rain storms. The motor in the car is a Pontiac 350 that has
been all rebuilt and comes with an Edelbrock intake and Holley carburetor... The transmission
is a Pontiac TH400 which shifts incredibly and is also believed to have been
rebuilt.. The car also has an aftermarket limited slip rear end..
The Bonneville came from the factory with many options including air conditioning,
power brakes, and power steering.. This thing goes down the road like a dream and has
had an alignment done last month... The car has beautiful mint condition front and rear seats
and has also had a new black carpet installed which looks fantastic.. The front passenger side
door panel is starting to loose the carpet at the bottom of the panel, but this can easily
be either fixed or replaced. The head liner is also starting to come apart in one spot on the passenger
side, see pictures.. I have the window sticker for this car from the Pontiac Historical Society and
this will also come with the purchase of the car.. The exhaust system is a new thrush exhaust and
sounds very mean. Hate to see this one go as it is such an incredible head turner, but a new
car purchase means it must.. This will make a great cruiser for someone and could even
be a daily driver since it is such a solid well built car. A non refundable deposit of $500 is due at the end
of the auction and the remainder of the purchase price must be received within seven days..
Feel free to ask any and all questions.. This one will not disappoint.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
This GTO-El Camino mashup is the muscle truck of our dreams
Fri, Aug 31 2018There were a hell of a lot of great muscle cars in the mid-1960s, from the baroque Dodges and Plymouths of the earlier part of the decade to the wild big boys like the Boss 429 and Olds 442 W30. Right in the middle of the decade, two of the most iconic of the bunch emerged — the Pontiac GTO and second-generation Chevy El Camino. And this one is a 1964 Chevy El Camino with the heart and face of its GTO cousin, and dubbed the El Chieftain GTO. It's currently for sale at RM Sotheby's Auburn auction, with no reserve status or estimate listed. This looks like a product that Pontiac could have sold at the time — its builder, Ron Lindeman, did an excellent job making it look like a factory product, right down to the taillight strakes inspired by the GTO. It's powered by a 389 — a Pontiac motor that was actually found in period GTOs, but sporting a single four-barrel instead of the sexy Tri-Power setup. It is, however, equipped with a Hurst four-speed manual and the grille badge to prove it to bystanders. Even the interior is made up to look like a GTO. We wish there was more of a description of the build in the listing, but if you love it, do us one better and buy the thing and invite us to poke around it. We are very much in love with this muscle-truck mashup.
