Check out this SWEET 1950 Pontiac Chieftain. This was a friend of mines ride and baby. Its was restored by him and always garage kept! The pictures you see are just how it was when we pulled it out of his garage! This was a frame on resto. The paint is a beautiful straight black and has no flaws I can find. There are no dents, dings or scratches. It appears to be the original color also. The interior is done in a gray cloth and is new throughout. The headliner is new and the seats are like setting on your couch at home. It is wonderful to be drove around and setting in the back seat.  The dash is in great shape and is finished in a silver grey and shows very well. All Gauges and instruments on the dash functions as they should. The car has the Cool Push Button Factory Start. This slick ride is a 3 Speed on the column. The transmission shifts smooth and strong. The clutch is strong and very easy to push. The car drives true and straight. Its doesnt wonder all over the road like most old 50 cars do. Its has a fairly new set of Coker wide white tires with stock rims. The rims have been painted red to give it a nice accent of color. The Chrome is like new all over the car. The chrome has no dents on dings of any kind I can find. All headlights, Taillights, Signal lights, Interior Lights, Dash Lights, Etc. function as they should. The car is equipped with Factory Sun Visor and Fender Skirts. All the glass is clear with no clouding. The doors, trunk and engine hood shut solid. The car is equipped with the numbers matching SUPER DEPENDABLE Straight 8!! The engine is strong and runs like a champ!! It is so quite that you only hear the tires on the road. The engine compartment is detailed out. The engine is nicely repainted the factory green. The car is still on its original 6 volt system. It is equipped with new OLD style interstate battery. The car starts like a dream every time also. This ride will make some person a great driver / show car! Or it is ready for the WEST COAST and turn into a OLD SCHOOL LOW RIDER!! The odo is showing 91400 which we believe to be the actual miles. However we are selling it tmu due to how the DMV does titles now in the state of VA. Also due to its age. This ride is also equipped with new exhaust and is super quite. We have gone completely over this car in our shop and have found it to be a great solid ride. We can not think of a thing this sweet ride needs, other than a new good owner and great home as before!! If you have any further questions please feel free to e-mail us or call us at 540-537-1223. Please leave a message if there is no answer. Any inspections are welcomed. Again this a GREAT Solid Ride. Just took it for a nice long ride today!!! It truly is a pleasure to drive! Love those VENT WINDOWS too!!!  DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!!! GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!

Burt Reynolds' movie re-creations fetch $379,500 in Vegas

Wed, Oct 3 2018

The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000. GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.

World's only 1964 Pontiac XP-833 Banshee coupe for sale by Kia dealer

Mon, Apr 20 2020

It seems like there has been a spate of especially odd car sales in the first part of this especially odd year, from the numerous barn finds and homebrew specials to the time capsule cars — like the BMW wrapped in a protective bubble for 23 years. Napoli Kia in Milford, Connecticut, brings us another, via Motor1. Len Napoli is the dealership principal and die-hard Pontiac maven; his father opened Napoli Pontiac in 1958, and Len held onto the franchise until the early 2000s, just before GM shuttered the brand that built excitement. Napoli got hold of the 1964 Pontiac Banshee XP-833 coupe concept, and put the car up for sale through his Kia dealership for $750,000. The exceptional price comes from the fact that Pontiac built two Banshee concepts in 1964, one this silver coupe with a red interior, the other a white roadster, making each concept a one-of-one collector car.      Motor Trend wrote a detailed piece on this one in 2013, the editorial tour hosted by Bill Collins, the Banshee's lead engineer. The short story is that GM exec John Z. DeLorean — yes, him —  gave approval to a small crew at Pontiac to create a two-seater sports car to compete with the Mustang, because GM had nothing to fend off the four-seat coupe that would sell one million units in just 18 months on the market. Collins and his team took inspiration from the 1963 Corvair Monza GT concept, working up a fiberglass body over a steel frame, with a 230-cubic-inch overhead-cam straight-six producing 165 horsepower and 216 pound-feet of torque, a four-speed manual transmission, and 9.5-inch drum brakes at all corners. The idea was that the XP-833 would be "an affordable and fun two-seat sports car," the concept demonstrating the base-model price leader offering a lengthy list of options for those who wanted more. The white roadster, in fact, fitted a 326 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. Rumor says that Chevrolet execs didn't like having another two-seater sports car in the GM fold, especially one with a fiberglass body that held weight down to 2,200 pounds. GM execs took one look at the two concepts in 1965 and shut the project down. The two XP-833s lived in a garage for years, Collins and his colleague Bill Killen getting permission to buy the cars from GM in 1973 before Collins left to help engineer the DeLorean DMC-12. It wasn't until just before Collins departed that the XP-333 got the name Banshee.
