1990 Pontiac Sunbird LE Convertible.
100,000 miles.
5 speed manual transmission
2.0L engine, does 30 miles per gallon.
Pretty new battery and tires.
Roof is in great shape and goes up and down with no problems.
Looks and runs great.

I purchased this vehicle in January when I first moved to the US from England but have since had to get an automatic so my wife can drive too. I had an inspection done when I purchased this car and had new belts put on at the same time. I have driven this car for 4 months and done about 5 thousand miles with almost no problems. The only problems I have had with this car since I've had it are the central locking is no longer working, you have to use the key to lock/unlock. Also the air con has recently started to make a loud clicking noise when you turn it on, so I haven't used it for a few weeks. I don't know a lot about car mechanics so cannot tell you much more about this vehicle other than it's been reliable for me for the last 4 months and seems to be in pretty good shape for such an old car. This car is sold "As Is". If you wish to see the car before bidding please contact me ASAP to view before auction ends. Car is to be collected from Sarasota 34234 within 1 week of auction ending and payment is to be by cash only on collection.

Low Start Bid and No Reserve, HAPPY BIDDING!!

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."

Drive plays Smokey, Bandit with turbo Trans Am

Sun, Jun 28 2015

The modern trend for powertrains can be summed up with the simple maxim: cut displacement and add forced induction. Whether you are looking at the just-introduced 2016 Chevrolet Cruze or a BMW M3, this adage holds true. However, Pontiac's attempt at the idea goes all the way back in 1980 with the Firebird Trans Am and its turbocharged 4.9-liter V8. Drive's Mike Musto takes out a 1981 example to explain what makes this largely forgotten muscle car so special, and it certainly isn't performance. While a 4.9-liter V8 might sound like a lot in the modern world, keep in mind that only few years before the second-generation Trans Am was available with up to a staggering 7.5-liters of displacement. Turbocharging of road cars in the early '80s was quite archaic by today's standards, and the Firebird only managed around 200 horsepower with this mill. Without much go, the turbo Trans Am made up for a lack of power with lots of show. As Musto points out, the famous flaming chicken adorns practically every surface you can see on the coupe, and boost lights on the hood illuminate when the turbo is spinning. Musto still finds a lot to like about the turbo Trans Am. He even calls it "Burt Reynolds as an automobile." Find out why the coupe is so special in this entertaining clip.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
