This is a 1984 Pontiac Trans Am 15th Anniversary car! T-tops, H.O. 305. New A/C that uses R134. Fan blows fast and cold in the Florida warm weather. New cigarette plug that charges phones or runs gps without any problems. This is a solid car that I would not hesitate to drive long distances.

I have the original radio, but not installed. A CD stereo is currently installed.

The car has the rare storage compartment in the trunk instead of the trunk well. The car comes with a security screen to cover the trunk area. I have an extra screen that is in ok shapefor the car.

The dash is free of any major blemishes, tears, or cracks. The pop-up lights function properly. Original wheels!

Why am I getting rid of this car? I own several cars and none of them handle baby seats easily. Time for me to upgrade or downgrade depending which day it is and how I am feeling :) I also do not have the time to drive the car so the moment has come for me to part with this cool car. I will miss owning this car.

As with any used cars there are some minor issues. The intermittent pulse wipers do not work. I recently discovered that the electronic board is missing from the wiper motor. I always thought the switch was broken but I was wrong. By the way, the switch is new and the wipers function well minus the intermittent selection. Find yourself a board and you will have intermittent pulsewipers.

The other issue is the tripometer does not work; the odometer works fine.

The car sits for long stretches and needs someone to drive her home. I maintain the battery so it holds a charge. No body rust that I have noticed. T-tops are in great condition and the seals look fantastic for being  30 years old.

Please look at the pictures and remember that this is a 30 year old paint job. White hides imperfections in the paint very well. My original plans were to have the car repainted when the decals got rough enough to bother me, but that never happened. I did have the car waxed last summer and it has been mostly garaged since.  I do not drive this car often and something might slip my mind so please ask. Email me if you have any questions.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

Junkyard Gem: 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible

GM's Pontiac Division sold its first convertibles during the 1927 model year (just a year after the division's creation), then proceeded to offer memorable drop-tops for most of the following 83 years. The best-selling convertible to bear Pontiac badges during our current century was the retractable-hardtop-equipped G6, available from the G6's introduction in 2006 through the second-to-last model year of 2009 (the Sunfire convertible was available just through 2000, while the Firebird convertible vanished with the demise of the slow-selling Firebird itself after 2002). Here's one of those G6 GT convertibles, found in a Denver-region boneyard after a crash ended its driving career. Mashed right front, popped airbags. This sort of damage might have been worth repairing in 2009, but not today. The 2007 G6 was available as a coupe, sedan, or convertible. All the convertibles had the GT trim level and the 3.5-liter V6 and its 224 horsepower. The MSRP on this car was $28,750 (about $42,325 in 2022 dollars), making it the most expensive G6. The power hardtop roof folded up into the trunk, leaving 1.8 cubic feet of trunk storage space with the top down. This Karmann-designed roof system made the interior much quieter than that of a traditional soft-top convertible. All G6s were built at Orion Assembly in Michigan, where Chevy Bolts are born today. The G6 was built through the 2010 model year, making it one of the very last Pontiac models (the Vibe also made it to 2010, though it was really a Toyota Matrix). In hindsight, 2007 turned out to be an ominous year for GM.
