2 0wner, 2nd since 1974, 1967 pontiac lemans 326 c.i. powerglide automatic, factory air conditioning, power steering and power brakes, bucket seats and console, 91,000 miles, this is a very straight rust free car except for 2 patch panels in both rear floor pans and the usual surface rust on door bottoms stuff like that, all of the sheet metal looks original, rear quarters look original and are good, the trunk pan and drops are good, inner and outer wheel houses are good, rockers are good, lower front fenders are good, the rear fender well lip where the outer wheel house and quarter panel meet are still intact. Original interior in very good condition except the carpet looks like it was replaced when the rear floor patches were done. This lemans runs good drives good and brakes good. The cap rotor plugs and wires are new. This a super cool, clean, good running car. The stainless steel on the car is great shape, the glass is in great shape except the windshield has a spot like a bb gun hit it. The windows role up great, everything shuts great. Original 15" pontiac ralleys that have been refurbished even the spare with new tires. The interior is in really good shape some wear on the front seats, the back seat is near perfect, door panels are nice. the transmission was rebuilt last year and it has new dual exhaust with flowmasters. It was built in kansas city and spent it's life in arkansas. It is gulf turquoise-black vinyl top with turquoise interior. 326 2 barrel, i was told it's the original engine but i havn't verified the numbers, the heat activated choke works, a/c has the belt on it and the clutch spins freely but it doesn't blow cold. 4 wheel power drum brakes that work good but pulls a little bit to the right when braking. I have found no signs of any damage on this car it is super straight, it could literally be wet sanded and painted, the paint has been cut in on quite a bit of the car, the 2nd owner (in his seventies) put a new vinyl top on it himself and didn't do a great job, there are some wrinkles in it. The front suspension has been rebuilt new bushings and so forth. This is probably the nicest cleanest most honest original old cars i have come across, great for a gto clone or an original restoration and i have done my best to describe it as honestly as i can. You are more than welcome to look at the car in person and inspect and drive it. I reserve the right to end this auction early, 500 deposit due via paypal within 48 hours after auction end, full payment due within 7 days of auction end, buyer is responsible for and will arrange pickup or shipping within 7 days of auction end. If you don't plan on buying this car please don't bid on it. Happy bidding and thanks for looking at my car. Jeff 816-824-0984 jlninn@hotmail.com

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
