Spokane, Washington, United States
1967 Buick GS 400
You are viewing a very nice unrestored original survivor GS with 72K original miles. The car is dialed in and runs and drives excellent. The car has been garaged all of its life and it shows. Some work had been done to keep the car very presentable.
Please read on for more particulars of the car:
Body/Paint: The paint is mostly original with a few areas that have been spotted in. You wouldn’t know by looking at it. No dents with the body and paint in excellent condition. Very nice red pin striping. The vinyl top is original to the car and in excellent condition for its age. Shows very well.
Interior: The interior shows very well with the carpet, seat covers replaced. The dash, door panels and head liner are original to the car and in very good condition. The console is original along with other bright work in very good condition. Aftermarket tach in place of the original tach in the console. After market gauges, Temp, oil pressure and amps.
Running Gear: 400-4 original to the car, rebuilt with a street cam. Edelbrock replacement carb for the original quadrojet. Ceramic coated headers. Air cleaner is not original to the car. Lots of torque. The trans is original to the car, 3 speed and rebuilt with shift kit in excellent working order. Rear end is original to the car, 10 bolt posi and good working order. Pusher fan for hot days. The car runs cool.
Suspension: The suspension is tight and rides nice. Frame is solid and presentable. Newer shocks and rides very nice and solid.
Brakes: Power drum brakes in good working order.
Exhaust: 3 inch exhaust with turbo style muffler. With the cam the exhaust system is the best thing about the car. Sound awesome.
Options: Remote trunk opener, tilt, speed sensor, package shelf defroster, power steering, power driver’s seat, power drum brakes and tilt column.
What doesn’t work: Radio and clock.
Bright work: Original to the car and unrestored and very presentable. Some signs of age and ware. Right corner of rear bumper has a couple of small scrapes.
Glass: All original glass in very good condition.
Wheels/Tires: Wheels are Buick after market in excellent condition. Rears are 14x8 and 14x6 front. Good radial tires with lots of rubber. 245/60 14
Summary: Buick GS of this era are pretty rare and hard to find in this good overall condition. Many replacement parts are not available aftermarket so to have an excellent survivor is very desirable when wanting a presentable car that looks good. This is a great car that runs and drives excellent. Great value for the money. If you are shopping for a quality 67 GS 400 this car is worthy of your consideration. Don’t let this one pass you by. I have over 100 pictures of the car so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures. Don’t miss out on this affordable ride.

Junkyard Gem: 1992 Pontiac Sunbird convertible, with extremely rad W25 Appearance Package
Sun, Dec 22 2019Radwood has sparked a revival in the appreciation of goofy 1980s and 1980s automotive fashions, from neon-colored tape stripes to excessive TURBO badging to ads featuring horrifying Nagel-style women with radio faceplates instead of eyes. I see a lot of discarded cars that would have been ideal to bring to Radwood, and today's Junkyard Gem is even radder than, say, a purple Mercury Tracer Trio or a teal Chevy Beretta GT or even the elusive Dodge Daytona IROC R/T (yes, there were IROC Daytonas): a genuine Pontiac Sunbird SE convertible with the W25 Appearance Package and Bright White Star wheels. The W25 package got you a white Sunbird with kicky script badging, white wheels, and — if you opted for the optional 3.1-liter V6 — these candy-cane-influenced red-and-white displacement badges on the fenders. Now this is rad! The white interior got dirty fast, especially if the owner left the convertible top down, and these wheels were tough to keep clean for more than a few hours. This one appears to have spent many years sitting abandoned with the top down, judging by the completely trashed interior. The base engine for 1992 was the good old Cavalier four-banger, complete with 111 horsepower. This 3.1-liter engine made a respectable-for-1992 140 horses, for plenty of torque-steery, tire-squealy fun. As a J-Body car, the Sunbird was a sibling to the Chevrolet Cavalier in 1992 (the J-based Cadillac Cimarron, Oldsmobile Firenza, and Buick Skyhawk departed before the end of the 1980s). Starting in 1994, the Pontiac Sunfire replaced the Sunbird, continuing in production all the way through the demise of the J platform in 2005. This content is hosted by a third party. What car brand should come back?
Fri, Apr 7 2017Congratulations, wishful thinker! You've been granted one wish by the automotive genie or wizard or leprechaun or whoever has been gifted with that magical ability. You get to pick one expired, retired or fired automotive brand and resurrect it from its heavenly peace! But which one? That's a tough decision and not one to be made lightly. As we know from car history, the landscape is littered with failed brands that just didn't have what it took to cut it in the dog-eat-dog world of vehicle design, engineering and marketing. So many to choose from! Because I am not a car historian, I'll leave it to a real expert to present a complete list of history's automotive misses from which you can choose, if you're a stickler about that sort of thing. And since I'm most familiar with post-World War II cars and brands, that's what I'm going to stick to (although Maxwell, Cord and some others could make strong arguments). So, with the parameters established, let's get started, shall we? Hudson: I admit, I really don't know a lot about Hudson, except that stock car drivers apparently did pretty well with them back in the day, and Paul Newman played one in the first Cars movie. But really, isn't that enough to warrant consideration? Frankly, I think the Paul Newman connection is reason enough. What other actor who drove race cars was cooler? James Dean? Steve McQueen? James Garner? Paul Walker? But, I digress. That's a story for another day. Plymouth: As the scion of a Dodge family (my grandfather had a Dodge truck, and my mom had not one, but two Dodge Darts – the rear-wheel-drive ones with slant sixes in them, not the other one they don't make any more), I tend to think of Plymouth as the "poor man's Dodge." But then you have to consider the many Hemi-powered muscle cars sold under the Plymouth brand, such as the Road Runner, the GTX, the Barracuda, and so on. Was there a more affordable muscle car than Plymouth? When you place it in the context of "affordable muscle," Plymouth makes a pretty strong argument for reanimation. Oldsmobile: When I was a teenager, all the cool kids had Oldsmobile Cutlasses, the downsized ones that came out in 1978. At one point, the Olds Cutlass was the hottest selling car in the land, if you can believe that. Then everybody started buying Honda Civics and Accords and Toyota Corollas and Camrys, and you know the rest. But going back farther, there's the 442 – perhaps Olds' finest hour when it came to muscle cars.
Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.
