Sporty 1997 Pontiac GRAND PRIX GTP Supercharged 3.8L- W Body - L67 - Reserve set low - Bid with Confidence!!

I have owned this car for a little over a year and when I bought it, it had a cracked windshield + balled tires and rear tint pealing. When I brought it home, within  2 weeks I noticed the coolant elbow had a hard to notice leak as it was the original one.  I decided first to put tires and a windshield to get it state inspected.

It is a solid ride that has dead straight steering no hands.  Did a mod on supercharger system and car accelerates much faster than stock (the new mod shortened the supercharger belt by almost 3 inches which gives this car a much faster boost.  The car cruises at 70 - 80 easily on hwy and handles great!

Adult driven and not abused...Car accelerates very fast and has digital boost control option.  Also this car averages about 20 - 29 mpg and is front wheel drive.

For a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Supercharged 3.8L - The car is 16 years old.  Personally from one person to the next I would give this car the following ratings:

Actual Visual Body - a flat 7.0 some blemishes, NO RUST  but has some expected minor rust underneath the car.
Mechanical 9.0 (after all work put in)
Engine: 150K+ - Proves to still be a strong engine - sounds healthy - which leads me to believe this car was mechanically assembled with good precision and care at factory and also presume that this car has mostly highway miles and adult driven.
Interior 7.0
Electrical 7.0
Leaks: noticed it was leaking on front passenger floor board. When I put in new windshield had resealed it. I also heard that this was typical for grand prix produced in these years. It does not leak anymore.

Again these are just things that I have noticed.

In a little over a year I put about 12 thousand+ miles on this car and with all the new parts and maintenance... kinks seem to be smoothed out... overall rating of this car for this year from engine to tail pipe...I would give this car a solid 7 out of 10.  A 7.0 because intake gaskets will need replaced soon which is common for GM / Pontiac given the mileage.

This car is sporty with many after market auto part manufacturers which make it a real contender if done right.  Check out you tube for the coolest Pontiac GTP vids / pics and you'll find that years 1997 and up make for sweet rides!

Other than that this car runs excellent the way it is now with decent gas mileage.

Car runs perfect and is maintained ... Sad to sell it but this car is an automatic and straight up ... although it's nice, I finding that I prefer a manual more than ever.  I kept a log of all receipts and is able to be verified.  In approx. 1 years time I shelled out $$$ to get this ride down where I can trust it to be a reliable car for trips and vacations if you know what I am saying... a good used car... This car could go the distance!  I drove 8 hrs and it ran sweet! I always filled her up with 92 octane and every few months put in fuel treatment to lubricate internals.

What I would do to the car to make it even sweeter: Put in high end forged piston/cam/rods/springs (rebuild) from ZZ performance, pcm retune, 19" inch rims with ZR rated tires with performance exhaust mufflers, and one step further add on a turbo charger kit with high end fan operated engine oil cooler with manual switch, trans ratio/torque converter, lowered springs, and brembo brakes.

It has Mobil 1 Synthetic Motor Oil with High Quality Fram oil filter.

The car needs a good buffing on the hood but is normal for this year. Mechanically needs nothing and is ready to cruise!  The car is sold "AS IS" with no warranty or claims implied unless specified.  Clear title in hand.  I will do the best to answer any questions.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

Distracted driver crosses center line and hits police car

Wed, Apr 6 2016

Attentive driving and quick reflexes saved the life of a police officer in Hudson, WI, when an oncoming driver drifted into the officer's lane and struck his cruiser. According to KMSP, the officer was patrolling along a busy road through Hudson on March 31 when the crash occurred. Dash cam video from the patrol car which was released to local media shows the dramatic collision unfold. As the officer came around a mild left-hand curve, a white, 90s-era Pontiac Grand Am continued straight through the curve, across the center line, and directly into the officer's path. The officer was able to avoid a head-on collision, but the Pontiac still struck the driver's side of the patrol car. "Both the officer and the other driver are ok, however, this accident could have been much, much worse," said a Hudson Police Department official on the department's Facebook page. "So please remember to pay attention to your driving at all times when behind the wheel." Minnesota's Department of Public Safety estimates that one in every four crashes in the State of Minnesota are caused by distracted drivers. DPS believes that the actual number may be higher, but police often have difficulty proving distracted driving as the cause of a crash. Government/Legal Pontiac Driving Safety Coupe Police/Emergency
