I am selling a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with just over 103,000 miles on it (as of 11/10/13). This car belonged to my father-in-law. He bought it new in 2007 and owned it until he passed away in June. He kept it in his garage and regularly maintained the car. He was a nonsmoker and did not allow anyone to smoke in it. He regularly changed the oil and did routine maintenance on the car. Before he passed, he asked me to have some work done to the car as he was not feeling up to having it done. Since June I have had new bearings installed, transmission fluid and filter changed, purchased 2 new remotes (one was lost and the other one did not work), purchased 4 new tires, replaced the driver's side mirror (it was cracked) & replaced the front lower panel (it too was cracked). I have been driving this car since he passed, and it is a great riding car. I drove it from my home in the Chicago area to Washington, D.C. on vacation in August and to Pittsburgh in October. I would keep this car for myself, but I do not need it. Everything seems to be in good working order except the remote start does not work. When I push the remote start button on the remote the lights on the car flash so the car is getting the signal. There are a few scratches on the body due to wear and tear - mainly on the plastic bumpers. If you do a vehicle check you will see that this car has been in minor 2 accidents. The first time, the car was parked in front of Subway when an elderly man lost control of his car and hit the side of my father-in-law's car on his way through the front doors of Subway. The second time, my father-in-law had pulled to his mailbox to get his mail when a drunk driver hit him and fled. This car is ready to go. Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT
Fri, 10 Oct 2014The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Wed, 15 May 2013When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. The prized golden 1965 Pontiac Hurst GeeTO Tiger is headed to auction
Sat, Apr 4 2020Once upon a time, a Pontiac advertising executive named Jim Wangers created a countrywide contest with this gorgeous 1965 Pontiac Hurst GTO serving as the grand prize. The contest was centered around "GeeTO Tiger," a song by musical artists The Tigers. A 19-year-old took home the golden muscle car at the time, but now anybody can buy the rare car through an upcoming Mecum auction. As a way to boost sales and awareness of the Pontiac GTO and its performance parts, Wangers partnered up with Royal Pontiac, George Hurst, and Petersen Publishing in 1965 to create a contest. Royal provided the car, Hurst dressed it up, and Petersen distributed the contest in publications across the country. In order to participate, people were asked to provide a reason why they wanted the car and identify how many times the word "tiger" was used in the promotional song "GeeTO Tiger" (pronounced G-Tee-Oh) by The Tigers. A 19 year-old kid named Alex Lampone from West Allis, Wisconsin, won the contest and took delivery of this jazzed-up GTO at the 1965 NHRA Indy Nationals. This content is hosted by a third party. The Tigers - GeeTO Tiger The prize car was completely kitted out and described by Wangers as "the nicest GTO you could put your hands on." It had more than 28 factory options, including a black cordova top, power windows, power steering, power brakes, a tilt steering wheel, a power driver's seat, dual-speed windshield wipers, a custom sport steering wheel, a rally gauge cluster, a push-button AM/FM radio with power antenna, and a Verba phonic rear speaker. What makes it stand out is the Hurst-inspired gold theme, which includes gold paint, gold mag wheels, and a gold-plated Hurst Shifter. Under the hood, this GTO has a Tri-Power 389 V8 engine that pairs with a four-speed manual transmisison. It also has a 3.55 Safe-T-Track rear axle and dual exhaust. Throughout the years, this car has exchanged hands many times and has undergone a few changes. It's been repainted, and the engine has also been rebuilt, but Mecum says it's otherwise highly original. Ony 59,000 miles have turned over on the odometer.
