1998 Pontiac Grand Prix Se 4 Door (red Color) on 2040-cars
Hughson, California, United States
Hello up for sale is my wife's 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix SE in decent running condition that needs a lot of T-L-C, 4 door, 3.8 Liter Engine, Red/Maroonish color with gray interior. The spark plugs and front brakes were recently changed, we did an oil change and replaced the driver's rear-view mirror, I have a brand new passenger rear view mirror to put on it as well, I just haven't had time to put it on the vehicle. The belts were changed about a year ago. Things that need to be done to it: Ignition switch may need to be replaced, radiator will need to be flushed. The ABS light comes on intermittently, The motors to 3 of the windows need to be replaced, the passenger side window rolls up and down with no problems. The heater and A/C motor might need to be replaced, it blows one day then doesn't turn on the next. May need a new top motor mount, the bottom motor mount was replaced back in September 2013, the engine runs strong, the driver side headlight lens will need to be replaced as well as the driver's side fender. Some of the door moldings and dash moldings inside the car need new clips. The driver's seat is powered and works excellent, The car does have scratches and door dings, she may not look pretty but she will get you to where you need to go. Great vehicle for a first time driver, pizza delivery vehicle or an everyday work car, if not it could be used for parts. Clean title, passed smog back in 2013 and tags are good until August 2014. The vehicle is being sold AS IS with no warranty. A non refundable payment of $300 is due within 2 days via paypal, and the remaining balance will be paid in full when you pick up the vehicle with cash or money order. I will contact the buyer within 24hrs for more information if needed. The buyer is fully responsible for picking up and shipping of the vehicle. Before you leave any negative or neutral feedback please contact me first if you have any problems. I try to describe in much detail anything that is important with any of the items I sell on here. Any questions, ask away I try to respond as quickly as possible. Thanks for looking. |

The last Pontiac Fiero sold for $90,000 at auction
Thu, Dec 3 2020On August 16, 1988 the last Pontiac Fiero, a red GT model, rolled off the assembly line at GM's Pontiac Assembly plant located in Pontiac, Michigan. It wasn't just the final Fiero, but the final car to be built at that site. The car was raffled off to one of 1,400 plant employees that would soon have to find jobs elsewhere. Whoever that employee was, they remained faithful to the Fiero and kept it in mint condition for 32 years. Last month, it was finally time to move on. It crossed the block at GAA Auctions in Greensboro, North Carolina where it sold for an astounding $90,000. According to the auction house, that's a new world record. The price no doubt reflected the car's place in history as the last example of GM's 1980s mid-engined sports car. However, it was also showroom-new, with just 582 miles clocked on its 2.8-liter V6. 1988 models were also fitted with an upgraded, Lotus-esque suspension produced for just that one year. In addition, this car, serial number 226402, came with its original build sheet, photos from the assembly line, and a collection of news articles and books. It still wore its pre-delivery plastic on the interior and was fully loaded with automatic transmission. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The car's custodian for the past 32 years must be pleased. Bidding started at $25,000 but soon rocketed past the $65,000 reserve. You can see the action starting at the 2:50:13 mark in the video above. The Fiero was symbolic of the 1980s and stood out from the standard GM passenger car fare for its mid-engine layout and plastic body panels. In an era when GM often rebadged cars with minimal differences, the Fiero rode on its own unique chassis. It was positioned as one of the defining products for Pontiac, GM's "excitement" brand, but actual performance never quite lived up to its striking looks. Nevertheless, it garnered a cult following. It's often the basis for (questionable) custom builds mimicking more exotic models like Ferraris and Lamborghinis, thanks to a steel space-frame design that allows body panels to be easily removed. Thankfully, this significant example escaped such a fate and will live on as a reminder of an interesting chapter of automotive history.
Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.
Florida man runs down bikers in traffic
Tue, May 31 2016A Florida biker and his passenger got a nasty surprise when a road rage incident turned ugly on Monday. According to WTSP, Joe Calderazzo was returning from a Veterans Memorial Day motorcycle rally around 5:30 pm with a group of fellow riders. During their ride, the group got entangled with an overly aggressive driver in a Pontiac. Abe Garcia of Tampa watched the silver Pontiac attempt to run the pack of bikers off the road, which started the altercation. The bikers caught up to the Pontiac in stopped traffic, and a shouting match ensued between the bikers and the Pontiac driver. At this point, Garcia pulled out his phone and started recording. The exchange escalated, and suddenly the Pontiac driver floored it, turned hard to the right, and ran over Calderazzo's Harley. The Pontiac mangled the Harley and knocked Calderazzo and his passenger to the ground. The Pontiac then fled the scene. WTSP spoke to Calderazzo as he was on his way to the hospital. "I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously," said Calderazzo. "You know you don't know what's going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is he going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don't know what's going on." The Pontiac driver, a serial traffic offender named Robert Paul Vance, was picked up by police soon after the incident. He is charged with hit-and-run, a moving traffic violation, and aggravated battery.
