1972 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX SJ
I am relisting this car because someone won the bid and then decided that he did not want the car. PLEASE ask questions before the auction ends or come and inspect the car. After you win the auction is not the time to then decide if you want the car. These auctions cost time and money.
We, at Finish Line Autos, specialize in the procurement and restoration of classic American muscle cars.
This 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix was owned by one of our clients and he asked us to sell it for him.
The car runs and drives quite well.
The body of the car is fairly solid and it has been repainted gold. There are a couple of rust bubbles starting to show right below the vinyl top.
The trunk is solid.
350 cubic inch engine (NOM) and a Turbo 350 transmission.
Bucket Seats
Console shifter.
Power Windows.
Tilt Wheel.
Cruise Control.
AM/FM/8 Track radio.
The car does have factory A/C but the compressor is missing. Heat and defrost work.
The vinyl top has a couple of small rips down low on both sides.
The car could use a set of interior door panels, as you can see in the pictures.
The seats are really nice but have one or two small holes from cigarettes in them.
The headliner is tight but has a few small holes.
The carpet is pretty nice
The BF Godrich Radial TA's have decent tread.
The Pontiac Rallye II wheels and trim rings look pretty good.
I threw a transporter tag on this car yesterday and drove it on a trip of around 100 miles. It ran and drove fine. The power steering works but squeaks at low speed. I will check that out before delivery.
I have a for sale sign on the car in front of my shop so I am reserving the right to end the auction early.

And a lot of those ways can be boring or tasteless. This one is neither. This is a seriously classy Pontiac GTO. Under the hood is a 461 cu. in. V8 from Butler Performance that's based on an actual Pontiac V8, not just another Chevy engine. The whole thing is subtle with a low-key metallic green and clean gray wheels. There isn't any overly flashy chrome or decals.
Drive plays Smokey, Bandit with turbo Trans Am
Sun, Jun 28 2015The modern trend for powertrains can be summed up with the simple maxim: cut displacement and add forced induction. Whether you are looking at the just-introduced 2016 Chevrolet Cruze or a BMW M3, this adage holds true. However, Pontiac's attempt at the idea goes all the way back in 1980 with the Firebird Trans Am and its turbocharged 4.9-liter V8. Drive's Mike Musto takes out a 1981 example to explain what makes this largely forgotten muscle car so special, and it certainly isn't performance. While a 4.9-liter V8 might sound like a lot in the modern world, keep in mind that only few years before the second-generation Trans Am was available with up to a staggering 7.5-liters of displacement. Turbocharging of road cars in the early '80s was quite archaic by today's standards, and the Firebird only managed around 200 horsepower with this mill. Without much go, the turbo Trans Am made up for a lack of power with lots of show. As Musto points out, the famous flaming chicken adorns practically every surface you can see on the coupe, and boost lights on the hood illuminate when the turbo is spinning. Musto still finds a lot to like about the turbo Trans Am. He even calls it "Burt Reynolds as an automobile." Find out why the coupe is so special in this entertaining clip.
