firstly, this car is LOCATED AT OUR SECOND HOME IN GREENVILLE SOUTH CAROLINA, ZIP 29609.

we tried to change the location so there would be no confusion but ebay will not let us change it for one auction, it would apply to all our auctions. we have more auctions of antique car parts going on, please check them out. in any event the car is in greenville SC and if you want a transport quote just ask as we know a guy who criss crosses the states constantly and has really good prices, we have used him several times.

please have the money on hand to pay for this car within three days of the auctions end. cash or a bank wire transfer are the only two forms of payment accepted. if you cannot comply with these very simple terms then simply do not bid. we will be glad to store the car for 30 days while you sort transportation out, providing car is paid for.

1965 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX SPORT COUPE. the floor pans and braces on this car are as solid as the day they were made! the car runs well and has new valve cover gaskets fitted and a tune up not too long ago. the transmission is rebuilt and a shift kit was put in it. the drive shaft was balanced cleaned and then painted. the factory air is all there but the drive belt is disconnected, the system will no doubt need to be checked and gone through.

the fender skirts are solid as a rock. the quarter panels are VERY straight and VERY solid, check the pix with the fender skirts off. the inner and outer rockers are solid as a rock also and the doors and trunk open and close perfectly, the hood hinge on the drivers side needs a little tweeking but it works ok. all the glass is excellent and all the windows go up and down fine, a little stiff in places but fine. the headliner is still in the car but starting to come apart. its original and i`m sure it could be saved. the dome light works when you open the doors. the area around the back glass is VERY solid. you can see some pitting in the two close up pictures but there is NO rust out. the inside lip of the trunk lid has some rust out but not much. the hood lip is very good though the hood nose has had a little bump in the distant past. the car has been stored inside since 1981! the paint is faded as you can see, the front bumper needs some straightening.

what needs attention: the car needs an exhaust, a new battery, a/c service/repair, brake rebuild, bottoms of front fenders repaired along with a little repair in the area where the fender skirt clips in. the trunk floor has been treated with an anti rust paint and for the most part the trunk floor is decent apart from some localized rust through, but its not much! there is a split seam on the drivers seat, see close up picture. the car has the REAR SPEAKER SELECTOR.

the interior is ALL original, thats right the carpets, seats, door panels, headliner and everything else is ALL ORIGINAL. the carpets need to be replaced along with the carpet on the bottoms of both doors. the dash pad has had it along with the parcel shelf cover. it needs a new ignition switch and trunk lock. the two rear caps are missing the spinners, see pix. the original jack and spare are with the car.

this is a really solid car and an excellent car to restore. clear title in hand and FULL PAYMENT IN THREE DAYS FROM AUCTIONS END. the ONLY methods of payment i will accept are CASH IN PERSON AT PICK UP, OR BANK WIRE TRANSFER.

ANY QUESTIONS CALL 864 616 6860 BEFORE 10 PM EASTERN TIME. this GP is a REALLY good car that has the makings of a GREAT car, we just hope that someone doe`s it real justice. thanks and good luck to y`all.

Porsche Boxster Spyder to get GT3's 4.0-liter flat six?

Sun, Feb 4 2018

It's been a merry-go-round the past few months, the rumormill focused on what will power the next Porsche Boxster Spyder. First came hearsay of a flat-six going into the special edition of a model line known for its turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Then came tattling that the flat-six in question was the naturally aspirated, 4.0-liter from the 911 GT3. A couple of weeks ago we wrote " we'd be surprised if Porsche packed anything other than a turbocharged flat-four under the skin." But Autocar has a new report that, indeed, a downtuned version of the 500-horsepower 4.0-liter from the GT3's rump will move to the Boxster Spyder's midsection. The Autocar piece follows a Wheels magazine article from last November, and the prediction isn't outrageous. When Car and Driver reviewed the last Boxster Spyder, it wrote, "the hand-me-down six comes from the older 911 Carrera S, not to be confused with the new turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six that powers the refreshed 911." If we can believe a recent report from Automobile about the 992-series 911 due later this year, the same thing is happening: The 991.2-series GT3 bequeaths its powerplant to the smaller sibling, and the 992-series GT3 moves to a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo flat-six with around 550 hp. Autocar quotes Andreas Preuninger, the Porsche engineer leading the development of all of these wunderkinds, saying of the Boxster earlier this year, "Natural aspiration is one of our main USPs. ... [We] think we can achieve throttle response and immediacy a little bit better with an atmospheric high-revving engine than any kind of turbo." We'll guess that means, by inference, that the GT3 is about to age out of naturally-aspirated university. The limited-edition Boxster Spyder might carry the torch with the 4.0-liter, with output somewhere around 430 hp. The Cayman GT4 could do the same. Or, who knows, an evolution of the 375-hp, 3.8-liter flat-six in the previous Boxster Spyder might burble out of left field. We expect to see the Boxster Spyder late this year. Until then, we'll wait to see what the merry-go-round says next time the Zuffenhausen horse comes around. GM recalling another 2.7 million vehicles in five separate campaigns

Thu, 15 May 2014

The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles.
The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles - some of them the same models - but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago.
The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents.

Rent the 1967 Pontiac GTO from the XxX films now on Turo

Tue, Jan 10 2017

The process of renting a car usually ranges from mildly annoying to "I'm calling corporate to get you fired." Plainly, it sucks, but sometimes you're left with no alternative. Turo, a peer-to-peer carsharing network, has created what's essentially the AirBnB for cars. Like AirBnB, the quality and variety of the rides varies based on location. If you're in Tucson, Ariz., in the next week, go check out this 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible before the release of XxX: The Return of Xander Cage. Promotions and marketing aside, this is still the opportunity to drive one of the original muscle cars. It's not clear if this is an original GTO or a Pontiac Tempest that was converted, but does it really matter? Old cars never drive as well as you hope, so, as long as it looks and sounds awesome, who cares? The owner listed on Turo is Xander C., Vin Diesel's character from the XxX franchise. This is the car that was used in the original 2002 film, and from the photos it appears to be in better shape than many other movie cars. The exterior is mostly stock, with some slight modifications to the lighting, wheels, exhaust, and trim, with the addition of a funky looking hood scoop that the listing claims shoots flames. It's not clear if it functions as an actual intake because there aren't any notes about what rests under the hood. The listing does ask for premium fuel, so more than likely it's some variation of a high-compression V8. Inside, the dashboard looks like someone raided the AutoZone accessory aisle. There are gauges, dials, toggle switches, and readouts galore. The listing also claims the Goat is packing a rocket launcher and a weapons stash under the seat. $999 per day isn't cheap, but it's less than you'd pay for a day with one of the rent-an-exotic shops you see in Los Angeles or New York. If you're not in Tucson or the price is a little too steep, Turo has what it's dubbed the Adrenaline Collection. The name may be hyperbole, but the lineup of cars is actually really solid. A quick glance reveals a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider, and a 1969 Jaguar E-Type. The car list keeps expanding, so if this proves popular, look for more cool stuff in the future.
