Hello!  Thanks for looking at my 2006 Brazen Orange Metallic Pontiac GTO, up for Auction!  I have been the only owner since new.  I picked it up from Jack Giambalvo Pontiac (now Giambalvo Buick/GMC) in York, PA, back in June, 2006.  This car has been garage kept since new and has 56,541 miles on it.  If my math is close,  I've driven a tad over 7,000 miles per year.  I'm just gonna be straight up with the "PRO'S and CON'S" of this vehicle, so, no one is disappointed when they come to pick it up.  The only reason I want to sell it, is because I just started financing a 2014 Jeep Rubicon last week.

CON'S: 1.  Slight drippage from the Ron Davis aluminum radiator.  (not enough where you have to add coolant, but, it should be repaired since it is a $750 radiator) It leaves 1 or 2 quarter sized spots in the garage sometimes. Like, when I get home from work sometimes (a 10 mile drive).
             2.  The stitching on one corner of  both back seats has come undone due to exposure to sunlight.  (this is a common GTO issue and is a cheap fix at any decent auto upholstery shop)
             3.  The 19" RUFF Racing wheels are in bad shape.  they would look fresh if powder coated, or something similar.  Let's put it this way:  They have been through a few winters here in Pennsylvania.  They look nice from a distance, when cleaned up (as you can see in the pics), but, up close, you can tell they are "weathered".  (I do have the stock rims.  They will be included if you want them.)
             4.  The "Volume Up" button is broken on the right side of the steering wheel.  Once again, a very cheap fix. There is an aftermarket stereo in there anyway where the audio buttons on the steering wheel don't function. (I do have the factory head unit available as well: a Blaupunkt in-dash CD changer/player)
             5.  The factory shift knob has slight wear on the leather part of it.
             6.  The Passenger Side Headlight is starting to show small signs of  "haze" in the upper left hand corner.
             7.  The Brakes cause a bit of a shake every once in a while.  The factory rotors are still on there.  They should be turned or replaced soon.
             8.  The Trunk Light keeps shorting out.
             9.  The suspension is rough going over bumps.  It has been that way since Day 1.  Coil overs were in the near future for this GTO and would be a good idea, eventually.
            10.  A Few Dents and Scratches no bigger than a Quarter.
            11.  The A/C does not blow cold air.  It probably just needs a recharge.  I barely ever used the A/C in this vehicle.

PRO'S: 1.  The Engine is ALL STOCK and has absolutely Zero issues!  No mods whatsoever.  I will list everything I replaced on the car below.
             2.  The Water Pump was replaced last year and has a lifetime warranty (not sure if the warranty is still valid once the car changes owners)
             3.  The Front Radius Rod Bushings were replaced with Whiteline adjustable ones. (This is considered one of the first things that should be done to these vehicles.)
             4.  Full Interior LED light conversion in Green to match the factory dash lighting.  The only bulbs that aren't Green, are the 2 overhead map lights, they have "Cool White" bulbs.
             5.  Amber LED  Fog Lights
             6.  "Cool White" LED License Plate bulbs
             7.  Silver Star Headlamp bulbs
             8.  Silver Star Front Turn Signal bulbs
             9.  Pioneer AVH-P3300BT CD/DVD Player with Auxilary Jack, front USB port, Bluetooth, compatible with Apple products (Rear Cam & Nav Ready...not installed though)
           10.  Front Dash Tweeters were replaced with Earthquake Tweeters
           11.  Rear Deck 6 inch "Woofers" were replaced with Earthquake 6 inch Woofers.
           12.  19" RUFF Racing Rims (Staggered).
           13.  General G Max Tires (255/35/19 in the Rear, 245/35/19 in the Front)  All 4 tires have plenty of tread on them and will pass inspection, no question.  There was a proper 4 Wheel Alignment done when the Front Tires were replaced, last September.
           14.  Custom, Metal, Body Color Floor Mat Hold-Downs
           15.  Pedders 1" Drop Springs in the Front Only.

I think that is all.  Hit me up with any questions you have.  I will respond ASAP.  Thanks Again, Good Luck Bidding!  -madmaxzombie

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

Classic Pontiac Trans Am Firebird Super Duty 455 sells for nearly $90,000

Fri, Aug 25 2023

Historically, the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am raised the performance levels a notch or two over a plain Firebird in the muscle car hierarchy of the Sixties. But the Super Duty 455 version of the Trans Am — that number represents the cubic inches of the hand-assembled V8 engine — moved the performance needle big time in 1974. So much so that a clean example of the machine sold recently on the Hagerty Marketplace auction site for $89,296. Advertised with just under 54,000 miles on the clock and having undergone a thorough restoration, the Buccaneer Red model was one of just 943 Pontiac Firebirds equipped with the Super Duty 455 package for the 1974 model year. That build had also been offered in 1973. The Hagerty listing drew more than 21,000 views and 39 bids. According to Hagerty's valuation report, a similar car would be worth $85,700 in good condition, and $103,000 if it was in ‘“concours condition.” The Super Duty motor borrowed technology from the lineÂ’s 366-cubic-inch NASCAR engine, and featured heavy-duty connecting rods and an entirely new block with a revised crankshaft and heads to deliver a claimed 310 horsepower. The Firebird that sold was indeed loaded, with a three-speed Hydra-matic transmission (which surely reduced its overall value), power locks and windows, AC, dual exhausts, heavy duty stabilizer bars all around, and a “custom Interior trimmed in Red perforated Morrokide vinyl upholstery.” The entry of PontiacÂ’s pony car in the U.S., facing off against the Mustang and Camaro, dates back to 1967, when it was offered with an inline six and optional V8. The first Trans Ams were introduced two years later, the name derived from a handling package. General Motors ceased production of new Pontiacs in 2002 owing to declining sales and losing stakes in the sports coupe market. The big 455-cid V-8 had disappeared years earlier.

Junkyard Gem: 2009 Pontiac G3

Sun, Mar 28 2021

Things weren't looking so rosy for Pontiac Division in late 2008, as The General had troubles of its own that culminated in Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June of 2009. Meanwhile, the Solstice and G8 had failed to revive Pontiac's youthful "excitement" image. Naturally, this seemed like the ideal time to put Pontiac badges and a new grille on the Chevrolet Aveo (itself a rebadged Daewoo Kalos) and call it the G3 (in the United States) or the G3 Wave (in Canada). Sales were not brisk, to put it mildly, and the 2009-only G3 has become one of the rarest modern Pontiacs in the junkyard world. The announcement of Pontiac's demise came in the spring of 2009, with the very last Pontiac-badged vehicle built being either a G3 or a Vibe (since those cars were really Daewoos and Toyotas, respectively, the true final Pontiac was the 2010 G6). The Aveo itself disappeared after the 2011 model year, replaced by an updated Kalos design known here as the Chevrolet Sonic. As a result of the GM bankruptcy, termination of the Pontiac brand, a nasty worldwide recession, and the preference of American vehicle shoppers for trucks or at least truck-shaped cars, few knew the G3 existed and fewer still thought to buy one. This is only the second G3 I've managed to find in a car graveyard, and I've been searching diligently.  So, it's a Junkyard Gem in the historical sense, not in the sense of being the kind of car you'd want to take to your 20th high school reunion. That said, it has power windows, air conditioning, and a CD player— pretty nice stuff for a dirt-cheap econobox from a decade back. And look! An AUX jack for your iPod or early-model smartphone. I drove dozens of cheap rental cars for my job with the 24 Hours of Lemons Traveling Circus during the late 2000s, and very few had this feature; until about 2013 or so, you had to travel with your own CDs or one of those horrible wireless FM modulators if you wanted to listen to anything other than the radio in a non-high-roller rental car. Under the hood, a 106-horse Daewoo Ecotec displacing 1.6 liters. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. If there were any television commercials for the G3, I guarantee that they weren't as fun as this one— set in the California high desert, of course— for the SKDM Kalos.
