IF YOU ARE IN THE MARKET FOR ONE OF THE FEW UNMOLESTED GTO'S FROM THE ONLY THREE YEARS OF PRODUCTION HERE IT IS. I CAN FIND NO AFTERMARKET CHANGES OF ANY KIND. IT HAS THE 400 HP LS2 CORVETTE ENGINE WITH ONLY 88K. RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW..INTERIOR IS CLEAN WITH ONLY FLAWS BEING A LOOSE HEADLINER ON PASSENGER SIDE AND THE LOOSE SEAM ON TOP OF REAR SEAT BACK. FACTORY OPTIONS ALL WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THESE CARS WERE LOADED FROM THE FACTORY AND EVEN THE AC IS STILL BONE CHILLIN' COLD. THE WINDOWS ARE TINTED. THE EXTERIOR IS NEAR MINT! IT HAS A SMALL RUB ON THE VERY BOTTOM EDGE OF THE GROUND EFFECT IN FRONT OF THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE AND MINOR WHEEL RASH ON THAT RIM. THAT IS ALL I CAN FIND TO POINT OUT AS DEFECTS ON THE ENTIRE EXTERIOR OF THIS CAR OTHER THAN JUST A NICK OR MARK FROM BEING DRIVEN. OH...ONE WHEEL LUG NUT PLASTIC COVER IS MISSING. I ONLY HAVE ONE FACTORY KEY/REMOTE FOR THE CAR AND IT IS WORN FROM POCKET CARRYING BUT WORKS PERFECT. MOST OF THESE CARS HAVE BEEN BOUGHT UP BY SPEED DEMONS AND MODIFIED FOR TRACK USE...TURBO'S OR PROCHARGERS OR THE LIKE. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO DRIVE IT CROSS COUNTRY. I MIGHT CONSIDER TRADES BUT ONLY MUSCLE CARS, RAT RODS, LIFTED OR LOWERED FULL SIZE TRUCKS. I AIN'T INTERESTED IN YOUR 1984 HONDA OR SKI DOO. 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am
Mon, 13 May 2013No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

Camaro-based Trans Am SE Bandit Edition borrows Burt Reynolds
Tue, Mar 29 2016For some reason, modifying modern Chevrolet Camaros into the lurching, reincarnated shells of the Pontiac brand is still a thing. If you're the perverse sort that likes this kind of thing, you should check out the latest product from the Trans Am Depot, which comes complete with an endorsement from the star of Smokey and the Bandit, Burt Reynolds. Yes, the new Trans Am SE Bandit Edition has been signed and endorsed by the man himself, but what's important here is not the signature on the dash, it's the bits of Camaro that have been modified. Aesthetically, that means a Bandit-and-Frog-approved set of T-tops, a front-opening hood with a very large, prominent shaker scoop, an equally large and prominent screaming chicken, and Trans Am-inspired front and rear fascias. And naturally, Burt Reynolds' signature adorns the dash. There are plenty of reminders in the cabin about this car's Hollywood inspiration, too. Bandit decals can be found on the front headrests and center console lid, there are chicken wings on the Camaro-spec plastic door inserts, and the black-and-tan color scheme matches nicely with the exterior look. And power? Well, Sheriff Buford T. Justice would have a lot more trouble keeping up with this Trans Am than he did with the original. The 7.4-liter LSX V8 has been paired with a 2.9-liter supercharger which is good for 840 horsepower. It's fast and loud, and even if you can't get behind the look (we can't), at least this Camaro-in-Trans Am's clothing can impress with its performance. The Bandit Edition is limited to just 77 units with prices starting around $115,000. You can check out the official video from Trans Am Depot, which comes with a decent helping of Burt Reynolds, up top. Related Video:
Vitruvian Energy crowdfunding to make EEB, a trashy biofuel
Sat, Nov 22 2014When sewage is treated at a wastewater treatment facility, biosolids are the byproduct. After being separated from the water, biosolids are usually sent to a landfill or incinerated. That doesn't mean that they're without value, however. Vitruvian Energy has created a process to make a usable fuel out of this human waste product, and while the source is pretty gross, it is undeniably abundant, and the results are much cleaner. EEB can be made for less than $4 a gallon. In a process that Vitruvian Energy claims is energy efficient, biosolids are femented and introduced to a type of bacteria to create PHA plastic. Reacting the PHA with ethanol creates the ethyl-3-ethoxybutyrate (EEB) biofuel. Vitruvian says EEB can be blended up to 20 percent with gasoline or diesel without any engine modifications. This lowers the carbon footprint of the fuel it's blended into, and serves to oxygenate diesel, leading to fewer harmful emissions. EEB can also be made using other organic waste products, such as corn stover, rice straw and distillers grains. EEB can be made for less than $4 a gallon and isn't subject to the maddening market fluctuations and international politics of fossil fuels. Furthermore, EEB's carbon footprint is 70 percent less than that of fossil fuels. Vitruvian also sees potential for EEB to be used on its own to power vehicles or burned to produce electricity for the grid. So far, Vitruvian Energy has used grants from the California Energy Commission and National Science Foundation to develop EEB, and has tested the fuel in a Pontiac Solstice at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Now, Vitruvian is wants to test EEB on a larger scale in the real world in order to prove EEB's viability to interested parties in the wastewater treatment industry. In an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, Vitruvian Energy hopes to raise $200,000 to build a prototype EEB production line and to run a test vehicle for a year on an EEB-diesel blend on the streets of Seattle. Donors can score some interesting perks such as shirts and bumper stickers that say "Get Clean with Poopaline." Learn more about EEB in the video and press release below.
