1970 Pontiac 400 date coded GTO block

Engine and Transmission are a numbers matching set out of a '70 GTO that has been bored .30 over....

Block has been boiled, shot blasted, decked and line honed.
Forged pistons and summit street cam and has Ram air lll heads...

All of the restoration work has been done in the last two years.
This car has been driven about 200 miles since work has been done.
I fire it up on a weekly basis
I have over $19,000 in this car so far. I've ran out of time and money and need to
pass this on to someone that can do this car justice.
A vin # search shows this is as a Lemans that was built in Pontiac MI in 1970.
I have included a picture of the data plate so you can do your own research.
Clean California title and current registration

Here is a list of the work I've had done:

Rebuilt Pontiac 400 motor (out of a '70 GTO)
Rebuilt Pontiac 400 transmission
New Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake Manifold
New Edelbrock 750 CFM Carb
New Tires (BF Goodrich Radial TA's P275/60/R15)
New Starter
New Alternator
Electronic Ignition
New 2.5" dual exhaust
Drive Line mounted and balanced
New U-joints
Single Stage black paint
New Vinyl Top
New Headliner
New Carpet
New Front Seats
New B&M Shift Kit and Ratchet Shifter

New brakes
After market temp gauge, battery level and oil level installed

It needs:
Dash cluster wiring needs to be hooked up (speedo, hood tach, gas gauge and odometer)
Hood and nose need to be repainted
driver side window regulator needs to be replaced.
headliner should be re-stretched
There is a crack in the windshield
Dash is cracked.
I noticed while driving it this week that it could use an alignment

Please ask questions before bidding.  Winning bidder must arrange pickup or shipping.  Car is sold as is, where is.

Junkyard Gem: 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible

Sun, Jan 8 2023

GM's Pontiac Division sold its first convertibles during the 1927 model year (just a year after the division's creation), then proceeded to offer memorable drop-tops for most of the following 83 years. The best-selling convertible to bear Pontiac badges during our current century was the retractable-hardtop-equipped G6, available from the G6's introduction in 2006 through the second-to-last model year of 2009 (the Sunfire convertible was available just through 2000, while the Firebird convertible vanished with the demise of the slow-selling Firebird itself after 2002). Here's one of those G6 GT convertibles, found in a Denver-region boneyard after a crash ended its driving career. Mashed right front, popped airbags. This sort of damage might have been worth repairing in 2009, but not today. The 2007 G6 was available as a coupe, sedan, or convertible. All the convertibles had the GT trim level and the 3.5-liter V6 and its 224 horsepower. The MSRP on this car was $28,750 (about $42,325 in 2022 dollars), making it the most expensive G6. The power hardtop roof folded up into the trunk, leaving 1.8 cubic feet of trunk storage space with the top down. This Karmann-designed roof system made the interior much quieter than that of a traditional soft-top convertible. All G6s were built at Orion Assembly in Michigan, where Chevy Bolts are born today. The G6 was built through the 2010 model year, making it one of the very last Pontiac models (the Vibe also made it to 2010, though it was really a Toyota Matrix). In hindsight, 2007 turned out to be an ominous year for GM.

Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition

Tue, Aug 29 2017

The W Platform proved to be extremely long-lived and versatile for General Motors, remaining in production from 1988 all the way through 2016. You had your Impalas and your Regals and your Cutlass Supremes, and of course the 1988-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix was a W-body. For the 2000 model year, Pontiac made the racy-looking Daytona 500 Edition Grand Prix, an example of which I just found in a Northern California self-service wrecking yard. 2,000 of these cars were made, presumably because it was the year 2000, and each one sports plenty of cool-looking Daytona 500 graphics. Perhaps some Regal owner will buy these seats and swap them. This is the second junked Daytona 500 Grand Prix I have seen recently, after this one in Colorado. The Daytona 500 was about the same as the GTP version, with Eaton-supercharged 3800 engine making a respectable 240 horsepower. Disappointingly, this car has an automatic transmission. It never saw 150,000 miles, unlike most 21st-century W-bodies I see in wrecking yards. Featured Gallery Junked 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition View 21 Photos Auto News Pontiac Sedan

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
