As stated above it is a 1970 Pontiac GTO, numbers matching, 455 big block, restored to its factory condition with not one expense spared. The build was an open check book. This car is as absolutely pristine on the outside as it is on the inside. This build, I have fully documented with full pictures of the restoration even a picture book provided by the engine builder down to the torque specs used to build the engine. Like I said before it is a numbers matching, big block car from the factory with all factory options such as electric windows, tilt steering, and air conditioning just to name a few. The car was restored by a family friend who is an enthusiast and purist who does such builds for a living. Every nut and bolt is correct to its factory finish including the finish on the metals. The underneath of the car is just as show worthy as the outside. It was fully, 100% frame-off restored back to its factory condition. It has the big block 455 motor with a 4 barrel carburetor. This engine, from the factory has four bolt mains as opposed to the standard two bold mains as well as the car is also equipped with posi-traction rear end. The car only has 39,909k miles. It is a true collector's item. This GTO was previously a campaign car for Pontiac, also known as a "CO-PO",  touring dealerships in order to promote Pontiac's GTO which makes this car such a collectible. One that a purist, of the muscle car community, would approve of. Over $150,000 spent on the build alone. The pictures show you the meticulous nature of the owner which proves how perfect the car really is. Pictures do the car no justice, although you will be impressed by what you see. I have pictures of everything down to the numbers on the engine block, proving that they match the vin number on the car making it a true numbers matching vehicle. I also have the documents providing the vehicle's remarkable history including a list of dealerships in which the car was showed at. Price is slightly negotiable. It is a must-have for any collector, it is almost impossible to come by a true, rare masterpiece such as this one. Please contact if interested via ebay or protocarsales@gmail.com.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
