1967 Pontiac GTO Hardtop - ALL ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN - Numbers matching (from motor to rear end) - FACTORY AC and Power Steering
NO RESERVE AUCTION! I am selling my 1967 Pontiac GTO, factory 400 - ALL ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN. The car has been a loyal driver and never caused ANY problems in my ownership. The thing runs and drives line a brand new car. Starts right up, never stalls or lags, and has consistent great power all the time. I will tell you that EVERYTHING on this car works perfectly and is factory . I will explain the issues with the car below. You can tell from the pictures that the car has been well maintained and is in great condition. The car has years and years of receipts and documentation for all maintenance and service done to the car. The car has factory AC and Power Steering. A rare combo! Body/Paint: 10 - the body is perfectly straight and paint is a dual stage with clear coat. the car has been colored sanded and shines like a brand new paint job. The chrome is in perfect condition with the exception of some pitting on the passenger side headlight bezel. There are ABSOLUTELY NO SCRATCHES OR DENTS IN THE BODY or PAINT. All of the rubber trim and seals are new and have no cracks or discoloration. Interior: 8 - The interior shines like new and the carpet is in great condition. The only reason I am giving the interior 8 out of 10 is because the stereo is not working (needs a small tube fuse which I don't know where to buy) and the center console has some small surface scratches in the wood grain/veneer cover. See for yourself in the pics. Engine/Mechanical 8 - The car starts up, runs and drives PERFECTLY. The car has some leaks (as you would expect from a car this old) because the motor is all original and has only been serviced. It never needed a complete rebuild because the car was driven very selectively. The only mechanical issue is that the air conditioning does not turn on. I've had it working in the last few months but one of the wires coming off the compressor got disconnected and I don't know where it hooks back up to. The car HAS freon and the compressor/clutch system DOES operate flawlessly. it's just a wiring issue cause i cannot get it to even turn on when i hit the switch. Also, the water from the windshield washer jets doesn't pump. This is also a wiring issue. Very easy fix, I just don't know where to look. EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS PERFECTLY. No other electrical issues. All the lights and gauges work fine and are accurate. The car has an aftermarket Holley carburetor and Hooker headers with exhaust system. it sounds quiet at idle but MEAN under throttle. I am selling this car NO RESERVE because I think people will recognize that this is a solid, original car and well worth it's value. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Turo, a peer-to-peer carsharing network, has created what's essentially the AirBnB for cars. Like AirBnB, the quality and variety of the rides varies based on location. If you're in Tucson, Ariz., in the next week, go check out this 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible before the release of XxX: The Return of Xander Cage. Promotions and marketing aside, this is still the opportunity to drive one of the original muscle cars. It's not clear if this is an original GTO or a Pontiac Tempest that was converted, but does it really matter? Old cars never drive as well as you hope, so, as long as it looks and sounds awesome, who cares? The owner listed on Turo is Xander C., Vin Diesel's character from the XxX franchise. This is the car that was used in the original 2002 film, and from the photos it appears to be in better shape than many other movie cars. The exterior is mostly stock, with some slight modifications to the lighting, wheels, exhaust, and trim, with the addition of a funky looking hood scoop that the listing claims shoots flames. It's not clear if it functions as an actual intake because there aren't any notes about what rests under the hood. The listing does ask for premium fuel, so more than likely it's some variation of a high-compression V8. Inside, the dashboard looks like someone raided the AutoZone accessory aisle. There are gauges, dials, toggle switches, and readouts galore. The listing also claims the Goat is packing a rocket launcher and a weapons stash under the seat. $999 per day isn't cheap, but it's less than you'd pay for a day with one of the rent-an-exotic shops you see in Los Angeles or New York. If you're not in Tucson or the price is a little too steep, Turo has what it's dubbed the Adrenaline Collection. The name may be hyperbole, but the lineup of cars is actually really solid. A quick glance reveals a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider, and a 1969 Jaguar E-Type. The car list keeps expanding, so if this proves popular, look for more cool stuff in the future.
