1967 Gto Convertible 4 Speed on 2040-cars
Levittown, Pennsylvania, United States
I have a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible. The motor is a non matching numbers WT engine from a 1967 GTO, just not this one. The engine was built for speed and it has plenty of it. I have invested $5000 in the engine rebuild alone, plus the price of the engine. The engine was bored 30 over, has a HEI ignition and crossover exhaust plus ram air 3 exhaust manifolds from a 69 GTO. The performance of this GTO will nor disappoint. I have installed a crossover exhaust system that gives it that nice sound , coupled with the slightly rough idle that we are used too. The car is not a show car, but it looks really good and I have won trophies at local car shows. This car has about a 10 foot paint job with a few flaws. It does have oil leaks , burns gas and tires. The interior has all been recovered and looks great. The top is new and is a Robbins, the top pump and lines are both new, and work perfectly. The speedo jumps when you hot 45 miles an hour . The starter is an original starter, my high torque went bad, so I threw in my old one, so the car wont start when its hot, slow cranks, I might replace it, maybe. Just about everything on this car is new, I bought it as a rolling chassis and replaced everything. New wiring harness, windshield, dash pad, instrument cluster (not the speedo) am radio is converted to am/fm.,new carpets . I want to emphasize this is a fast car ,a really nice driver, not a trailer queen. The original colors were gold and black top. The only options were rally 1 wheels, sport wheel, and the console. I added power steering, power front disc brakes, a newly rebuilt steering column. I will help as much as I can with shipping. I will entertain trades, project cars plus cash (especially GTO convertibles with automatic trans). Only interested in 60's muscle cars, or possibly a low mileage ,early 90's Dodge Viper, I have a boat. Don't want another. Might end the auction early as I have the car listed locally. I have the PHS documentation for the car. There was body work done on the car, not by me, frame is sold and underneath is clean. I will take more pictures if you need them. Thanks.

6 car mashups that God never intended
Sat, May 17 2014In the 2000s, the musical mashup genre saw a peak of popularity with releases like The Grey Album from Danger Mouse that mixed The Beatles and Jay-Z. UK artist James Pursey from Carwow decided to take the same concept of shoehorning two disparate things together but applied the concept to cars. Your opinion on the results will vary with your sense of humor. These creations are either some funny pieces of abstract art or absolute monstrosities that prove good design should be left alone. Likely the best of the bunch is the Lambotomic (pictured above), which combines a Lamborghini Miura and an Ariel Atom. Granted, the Ariel is little more than a skeleton to begin with, and the outcome looks like a slightly stretched Atom with the new nose and tail from one of the most beautiful vehicles ever. This could actually work. Though, not all of the mashups are quite so pleasant. The Porschiac WW RS (pictured right) is absolutely disgusting. It combines a Pontiac Aztek, which isn't a beauty queen to start with, and a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Obviously, the 911 is an iconic shape in autonobolia, but that can't save it from the horror of the Aztek. Pursey fits the its nose, wheel, wing, roll cage and stripes onto the Pontiac. The outcome: A design that will show up in your nightmares. Check out the gallery for the rest of the mashups, including the Humi (a Humvee and a Mini), Aston Smartin (Aston Martin and Smart), Rangerini (Range Rover and Lamborghini Aventador) and the Mazdafenda (Mazda MX-5 Miata and Land Rover Defender). They might not all be beautiful (or even pretty), but it's fun to imagine these oddball creations actually driving down the road. 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern
Mon, 07 Nov 2011General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
