1966 Pontiac Gto Tri-power, 4sp, Orig. Paint on 2040-cars
Barbourville, Kentucky, United States
Straight from the barn she lives again! True 66 GTO never been repainted with 68' 400 Pontiac Engine and Ram Air III #48 Heads Plus Tri-Power and 4 speed Muncie. Ram Air 3 cam and headers. Has 355 fully POSI traction and posi traction tag still bolted to the inspection plate. 10 bolt rear end. Power steering and drum brakes. Car runs great and shifts good. Stops good. Last owner has had it since like 85 and has kept it drivable all these years. The original VIN tag is gone and was legally re-vined in Indiana. The guy I bought her from says it never had a tag since he had it but he had the correct vin# on the correct title that DMV let him keep after the re-vin. I have the PHS docs that show it came in Bronze with Black Bucket Seat interior. This car has original paint and interior. Yes, it's never been repainted. So, you can tell the paint code is correct. This is a true GTO but not numbers matching and the re-vin means the title reads rebuilt. Now, some guys might take this car and pull the new VIN off and go to one of those title place and get a new title with the old title and have a new VIN made but others won't mind the way it is and will be happy with it the way it is. About
the GTO body: Solid floors. Solid frame.
Never wrecked. Doors are
good. The quarters had a lower quarter
clip put on see pictures and really a great job was done and has been set and
ready for bodywork. One rust hole in the
pc the size of a dime in front of the windshield. All very good glass except windshield. All good chrome trim in great shape for the
year model. Doors work great. Lights and most gauges work. Dash Pad is perfect. Good lines.
No bubbles under the top, can't believe it but it's true. Rocker panels pinch rails and door jams no
rust and in good shape see pictures. |

GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall
Wed, 09 Apr 2014General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.
GM recalling another 2.7 million vehicles in five separate campaigns
Thu, 15 May 2014The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles.
The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles - some of them the same models - but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago.
The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents.
Florida man runs down bikers in traffic
Tue, May 31 2016A Florida biker and his passenger got a nasty surprise when a road rage incident turned ugly on Monday. According to WTSP, Joe Calderazzo was returning from a Veterans Memorial Day motorcycle rally around 5:30 pm with a group of fellow riders. During their ride, the group got entangled with an overly aggressive driver in a Pontiac. Abe Garcia of Tampa watched the silver Pontiac attempt to run the pack of bikers off the road, which started the altercation. The bikers caught up to the Pontiac in stopped traffic, and a shouting match ensued between the bikers and the Pontiac driver. At this point, Garcia pulled out his phone and started recording. The exchange escalated, and suddenly the Pontiac driver floored it, turned hard to the right, and ran over Calderazzo's Harley. The Pontiac mangled the Harley and knocked Calderazzo and his passenger to the ground. The Pontiac then fled the scene. WTSP spoke to Calderazzo as he was on his way to the hospital. "I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously," said Calderazzo. "You know you don't know what's going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is he going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don't know what's going on." The Pontiac driver, a serial traffic offender named Robert Paul Vance, was picked up by police soon after the incident. He is charged with hit-and-run, a moving traffic violation, and aggravated battery.
