Rare 1966 YR Code Barnfind with matching numbers, original paint and almost all complete. YR code car, automatic. Heavily optioned car purchased from second owner. Off the road since 1983. The only thing not all there is the tripower manifold and original carbs, original tires, original hood, and original trim rings. I have a correct 66 manifold with one correct carb in place for it. I replaced the hood with an OEM hood as the original was rusted thru at the lip.  Think about a restoration where you don't spend 5 years hunting down all the options and parts! Everything else is there----- Options include:

Tri-Power (unlike almost all the other so-called Tri-Power cars, this one was equipped from the factory with it)
Posi
Tilt
Wood Wheel
Reverb
Aluminum Brake Drums
Power Rear Antenna
Rear Window Defog
Door Edge Guards
Rear Speakers
Remote Mirror
Rally Gauges + tach
Custom Seat Belts
Flashers
Soft Ray Glass
HEAD REST BUCKETS
RALLY ONE WHEELS
Floor Mats

Now, you can save a few thousand bucks and buy a non matching number 4 barrel car with limited options. Don't let me stop you. Just tell me the last time you found a car like this that has not yet been bondoed, re-painted, molested, stripped or raided for parts. Yes, the manifold was once stolen by thieves. Nothing else was taken. Even the vacuum canister is there. Pontiac guys will understand. Make your offer based on that. If it is reasonable I will take it. I have too many projects now that I may never get to so I am selling a few reasonably.

Will accept cashier check or bank wire, after an initial $500 deposit is made via Paypal. Questions- email me your number and I will be glad to talk on the phone.

I have a PHOTO BUCKET WITH 109 pictures. Please contact me. Someone asked me- the car is a non runner and I cannot get much movement trying to turn it by hand. I suspect that the engine will need to be bored out upon disassembly and restoration. This car needs mechanical overhaul plus bodywork, this is not a driver but a roller! One is selling without a drivetrain for $3600 now, and it is pretty well stripped down to bones from what I can tell. Predicate your offer on that.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.

The prized golden 1965 Pontiac Hurst GeeTO Tiger is headed to auction

Sat, Apr 4 2020

Once upon a time, a Pontiac advertising executive named Jim Wangers created a countrywide contest with this gorgeous 1965 Pontiac Hurst GTO serving as the grand prize. The contest was centered around "GeeTO Tiger," a song by musical artists The Tigers. A 19-year-old took home the golden muscle car at the time, but now anybody can buy the rare car through an upcoming Mecum auction.  As a way to boost sales and awareness of the Pontiac GTO and its performance parts, Wangers partnered up with Royal Pontiac, George Hurst, and Petersen Publishing in 1965 to create a contest. Royal provided the car, Hurst dressed it up, and Petersen distributed the contest in publications across the country.  In order to participate, people were asked to provide a reason why they wanted the car and identify how many times the word "tiger" was used in the promotional song "GeeTO Tiger" (pronounced G-Tee-Oh) by The Tigers. A 19 year-old kid named Alex Lampone from West Allis, Wisconsin, won the contest and took delivery of this jazzed-up GTO at the 1965 NHRA Indy Nationals.  This content is hosted by a third party. The Tigers - GeeTO Tiger The prize car was completely kitted out and described by Wangers as "the nicest GTO you could put your hands on." It had more than 28 factory options, including a black cordova top, power windows, power steering, power brakes, a tilt steering wheel, a power driver's seat, dual-speed windshield wipers, a custom sport steering wheel, a rally gauge cluster, a push-button AM/FM radio with power antenna, and a Verba phonic rear speaker. What makes it stand out is the Hurst-inspired gold theme, which includes gold paint, gold mag wheels, and a gold-plated Hurst Shifter. Under the hood, this GTO has a Tri-Power 389 V8 engine that pairs with a four-speed manual transmisison. It also has a 3.55 Safe-T-Track rear axle and dual exhaust. Throughout the years, this car has exchanged hands many times and has undergone a few changes. It's been repainted, and the engine has also been rebuilt, but Mecum says it's otherwise highly original. Ony 59,000 miles have turned over on the odometer.  The GeeTO Tiger Pontiac is scheduled to go up for auction in Indianapolis this June. Visit Mecum for more information. Jay Leno tries out a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge that looks factory fresh

Tue, Jan 31 2017

The latest machine to show up on Jay Leno's Garage is arguably the most iconic Pontiac GTO, the 1970 Judge. The example here is a radically red model and features all of the nifty Judge features, such as the mega-size rear wing, hood-mounted tachometer, and ram air hood scoop. The latter of which had a panel in the hood that would open up at full throttle to let in all that cool air from outside. The car is owned by the Wade Kawasaki, president of Coker Tires, a company that specializes in reproducing classic tires. Not surprisingly, his GTO features a set of the company's Firestone Wide Oval tires. That particular tire would have come with the car originally, but these new versions are built like modern radial tires, rather than the slippery bias-ply originals. The tires are indicative of how Kawasaki restored the rest of his Judge. Everything has been taken back to factory-spec. It has a stock, 400-cubic inch V8 that makes a supposedly underrated 366 horsepower, and it's complete with the chrome valve covers and foam intake seal. The tires are accompanied by exact replica GTO Judge wheels. The car even has the true, original interior. Somehow, the upholstery, dash, and other interior components survived in excellent condition. Check out the video above for more details on this flashy muscle car, as well as some reminiscing about the "good ol' days," and some history on the origins of the car's name. Related Video:
