1964 Pontiac GTO Hardtop

You are viewing a true Pontiac Historical Society Documented GTO.  This is not a Clone or Tribute it is a “Real” 1964 Pontiac GTO.  It is a great daily driver.  It is NOT a numbers matching car!

The GTO is equipped with a 1977 Pontiac L78 400 cid engine and is rated at 200 hp with the correct 6x heads with a turbo 350 transmission. New duel exhaust gives the GTO an exceptional sound.  In addition, the GTO has both Power Steering and Breaks.

The original Saddle Bronze paint and Saddle interior have been upgraded to Grenadier Red with new black interior.  The door panels, headliner, and dash are all in excellent condition. Original GM seat belts are included.  The Ralley Dash Cluster with Tachometer was added when the interior was upgraded.  The original odometer reflected 64,000 miles in 2007.  The Radio is original and still plays but could use some help.  After market gages supplement the factory idiot lights.

Front and Rear bumpers have been replaced along with too many items to list.  Documentation available on all that was replaced.

The GTO is lowered 1 1/2 inches to give it a GREAT stance.  Air shocks in the rear allow you to give it the 60’s Raked look if desired.  It sports INTRO Bullet Wheels with seventeen’s on the front and eighteens in the rear.

This is not a perfect unmolested numbers matching show car.  It is a great daily driver that is an attention getter.  It has consistently won awards in our local shows.

The GTO is offered at No Reserve with a realistic starting bid price.

The GTO is currently located in Northern Nevada and has a clear current Nevada Registration and Title.

The car is For Sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Winning bidder must deposit $1,500.00 via Pay Pal immediately at the close of the auction.  This is a good faith deposit and may be refunded if it is agreed by both parties that the vehicle description was not accurate.  However, should the winning bidder cancel or fail to complete the purchase they will be responsible for all e-bay/pay pal charges.  Any refunds will be made within 45 days after close of auction.  Full payment is due within seven (7) calendar days of the close of the Auction.  Cash is preferred.

First time e-bay bidders or bidders with less than 99.98% feedback are welcome but require prior approval before bidding otherwise their bids will be canceled!

Insurance, shipping, taxes, registration and any and all fees are the responsibility of the winning bidder.

Seller will at the request of the winning bidder assist with deliver of vehicle to the winning bidder’s shipper of choice.  Seller will at the request of the winning bidder deliver the vehicle for an agreed to additional cash fee for transportation within 1000 miles of seller’s location.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

This KITT replica sold at auction for $32,500

Thu, Apr 23 2020

UPDATE: This 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am KITT replica officially sold for $32,500. Here's hoping the new owner has a blast throwin' it into Pursuit Mode. Let's get one thing straight right off the bat: This isn't a perfect KITT replica. The original KITT used in the Knight Rider TV series was based on a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The one you see above, which is currently for sale at auction site Bring A Trailer, is a 1987 model, and since it's a GTA edition, it has some extra body cladding that the smooth-sided television car lacked. That aside, most casual observers would probably never notice the difference, and even those who did (like us) are still likely to be impressed by the car's transformation. This KITT replica is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. It ought to be fairly quick, though quite a bit shy of the fictional car's very fictional 300-mph top speed. We're not exactly Knight Rider experts, but some quick Google sleuthing suggests that the Knight Industries Two Thousand supposedly cost more than $11,000,000 to build in Hollywoodland. This one will surely command a significantly lower sum — as of this writing, it's been bid up to $18,000 with four days remaining on the auction. This content is hosted by a third party. There are several videos of the car that detail its modifications inside and out, but suffice it to say it seems to be a well-sorted replica. Here's hoping its new owner keeps it well clear of other KARRs. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.

Remember when Pontiac made a Trans Am Kammback grocery getter?

Thu, Nov 8 2018

Despite muscle cars having strong reputations as some of the most impractical cars one can buy, they've occasionally had one of the most useful and practical features a car can sport: a hatchback. In the 1980s, General Motors' Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird had one, and it added respectable utility to the sports cars. But the people at GM thought they could make the F-Body cars even more useful. So, after a few clay-model experiments, Pontiac built three examples of an extended-roof 1985 Pontiac Trans Am Kammback concept. Spotted by GM Authority, one of these Trans Am Kammbacks (although "shooting brake" seems like the more apt descriptor) is going on the block at the Mecum Kissimmee auction in early January 2019. Reportedly only three of these prototypes/experiments/test mules were built to driveable specs, and this example, VIN No. EX4796, has additional history that might make it the ultimate example. According to Mecum, the show car, which has made appearances at numerous auto shows, also spent some time at the race track — just not as a participant. It was used as a pace car for PPG and IMSA racing and temporarily had a light bar and "two-way communications equipment." Following its pace duty, and after GM stopped the project from going any further, it was put into Pontiac Engineering's private collection for 13 years. Famous Michigan car collector and Pontiac dealership owner John McMullen then bought the car. He eventually sent it to Pontiac specialist Scott Tiemann for a full restoration to the gorgeous condition it is in today. As seen in the photos, the Trans Am features white paint over a gray leather interior. It houses a 5.0-liter V8 under the hood and has a five-speed manual transmission. The wild concept is rare enough to be super cool, but we can't help but think of an infinitely more practical, more modern, more powerful, and arguably more interesting car we'd rather have. Manual Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon in Black Diamond anybody? Or, if you don't care about the extra doors, perhaps the Callaway's Corvette AeroWagen is more applicable. Either way, we're in full support of any shooting brakes we can find. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
