Up for sale is my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. I purchased the car in July of 2013 from Orangeburg Nissan in South Carolina. The car sat on Fort Campbell Military Base from July 2013 until October 2013 when I finally titled it and drove it to Phoenix from Fort Campbell. Since I took possession of the vehicle it has had a Custom Flowmaster Exhaust installed, Volant Cold Air Intake w/Rotofab Dry Air Filter, UPR Products Oil Catch Can, Crossed Drilled & Slotted Rotors w/Ceramic Brake Pads, LED switchbacks, Plastidipped wheels, Goodyear Eagle RS-A2 All-Season Tires 245/45/19 (March 2014), MGP Brake Caliper Covers, 5% Window Tint, 6k HIDs (low beams), 6k LED Foglights, Foglights modified to be Day Time Running Lights, and had a Costar Bluetooth Module installed as well. The G8 GT has a 6.0L L76 (LS2/LS3 hybrid) motor mated to a six-speed 6L80 Hydra-Matic, puts out over 360hp and is a 13sec car stock which is pretty impressive for how much it weighs. In my eyes the G8 GT is the ultimate sleeper as no one expects a sedan to move like this one is capable of moving. If you delete the Displacement on Demand (DOD/AFM) and upgrade the cam you would easily have over 400hp. This was going to be my next modification if I was able to keep the car. If you know anything about these cars you know they were plagued with lifter failures due to a poor Eaton lifter design my G8 was no exception and has had the lifters, cam, and other accessories replaced under warranty in November 2013 as I developed the lifter tick. The work was all done by Courtesy Chevrolet and I have all paperwork documenting it. Before that the car received a coolant flush, brake fluid flush, power steering flush, as well as a transmission flush which was done by Throughbred Chevrolet and I have all documentation for that as well. Below is a list of options my G8 has mine is fully loaded just without a sunroof.

Options: Black Onyx Leather Interior, Dual Front Heated Seats, Dual Climate Control, Six Disc CD Player w/MP3 Playback Capability, Sport Metallic Pedals, Leather Wrapped Sport Steering Wheel, Leather Wrapped Shifter, Dual Power Driver & Passenger Adjustable Seats, 19' Enkei Sport Wheels, Goodyear Eagle RSAs 245/45R19 All-Season Tires, Front & Rear Armrest w/Cupholders, White LED Front & Rear Footwell Lighting, Sport & Premium Package Minus Sunroof.

The only reason that i am selling the G8 is because Im PCSing back east and need a vehicle that has AWD/4WD for those winter months. In addition, I have a nine month old daughter and two dogs (Rottweiler & a Black Lab) so upgrading to a SUV is just the overall best choice for me. My loss is your gain. These cars are rare and in high demand as they were only sold for two years before Pontiac was shut down. It has been revived as the 2014 Chevy SS however, the G8 GT and G8 GT GXP are more built for performance with a touch of luxury and will be worth more as time passes similar to the 94-96 Impala SS. If your interested or have any other questions dont hesitate to contact me. Thank you.

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction

Sat, Sep 9 2023

Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics

Another Burt Reynolds Trans Am is up for auction

Wed, Jan 18 2017

Fans of Smokey and the Bandit, your car has arrived. This Saturday, January 21, Barrett-Jackson will auction a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am clone that, while not originally in the movie, was owned and signed by the Bandit himself, Burt Reynolds. Not only that, but it packs many modifications that should make this Pontiac drive the way we all imagined it did. This is a Trans Am clone, not an original. The car was built by Nebraska company Restore A Muscle Car, and started life as a lowly Firebird Formula. However, the company brought it up to Trans Am grade and beyond. Under the hood is a fuel-injected 8.2-liter V8 from Butler Performance that Restore A Muscle Car says produces 600 horsepower. Coupled to the big V8 is a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. There's even Hurst line-lock on-board, so this Trans Am should be perfect for on-demand burnouts. The car also comes with QA1 coil-over suspension, so it should corner better than the original, too. The outside looks roughly like a stock Trans Am, but it now has 18-inch wheels styled after those from the movie car, and the shaker scoop says "8.2" on each side. View 5 Photos In 2014, a 1977 Trans Am owned by Reynolds sold for a whopping $450,000. That car wasn't an actual movie car either, and lacked the modifications of this one. However, it was used as a promotional car and was given to Reynolds, so it did have some history with the film. This upgraded car is listed in the Barrett-Jackson catalog as "no reserve," so it's going home with a new owner on Saturday, regardless of price. Related Video:

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Pontiac Grand Am LE with Quad 4 Engine

Wed, May 9 2018

GM introduced the N-Body compact platform with the Oldsmobile Calais and Pontiac Grand Am for the 1985 model year and continued building N-based cars through 1998. Most of these cars weren't interesting from an enthusiast standpoint, but a handful rolled off the assembly line with raucous DOHC Oldsmobile Quad 4 engines and manual transmissions, and those cars were plenty of fun. Here's a 1991 Grand Am with that rare setup, photographed in a self-service yard in California's Central Valley. The base engine in the 1991 Grand Am was the 110-horsepower, 2.5-liter pushrod Iron Duke, an engine that might have been fine on a Romanian tractor in 1953 but had no place on an American street car as the 21st century approached. Fortunately, GM started bolting the modern 2.3-liter DOHC Quad 4 engine into 1988 cars, and this was a proper four-cylinder. The Quad 4 ran a little rough and uncivilized, and it had its share of reliability problems, but you could rev the piss out of it and it made good power. In 1991, this engine was rated at 180 hp. That made this 2,592-pound sedan pretty quick. Unfortunately, the slushboxization of America had progressed with depressing rapidity during the 1980s, and by 1991 most Grand Am buyers — even the ones who opted for the Quad 4 — chose the automatic transmission. That didn't happen with this car, though — it boasts a rugged Getrag 5-speed instead of the happiness-amputating three-speed automatic. Yes, that's the kind of odometer reading you'd expect to see on an Accord or Maxima from this era. Someone loved this car and took care of it. Here we see an interesting mix of 1980s and 1990s car-radio technology. CD players in cars were still costly luxury items in 1991, seldom seen in affordable cars like the Grand Am, while 1980s-style slider-style EQ controls were on the way out. This Delco unit straddles both decades nicely. I seek out Quad 4-equipped cars during my junkyard travels, and I have photographed quite a few: this '89 Cutlass Calais, this '90 Cutlass Calais, this '90 Grand Am, this '91 Quad 442, this '93 Achieva SCX, and this '98 Cavalier Z24. It's a shame that Buick never put the Quad 4 in the Reatta, which was a fine car ruined by a somnolent and obsolete V6. The music in this ad is even more early-1990s than Crystal Pepsi.
