Im considering selling my recently acquired G8 GT as I feel it should get more use than what it has received from me. It is basically my weekend cruiser and even then I barely drive it. I purchased the car back in July 2013 Orangeburg Nissan in South Carolina. The car sat on Fort Campbell from July 2013 until October 2013 when I finally titled it and drove it to Phoenix from Fort Campbell. Since then the car mainly sits unless its nice out or Im taking it to have some work done to it. Since I took possession of the vehicle it has had a Custom Flowmaster Exhaust installed, Volant Cold Air Intake, Crossed Drilled & Slotted Rotors w/Ceramic Brake Pads, MGP Brake Caliper Covers, 20% Window Tint, 6k HIDs (low beams), 6k LED Foglights, Foglights modified to be Day Time Running Lights, and had a Costar Bluetooth Module installed as well. The G8 GT has a 6.0L L76 (LS2/LS3 hybrid) motor mated to a six-speed 6L80 Hydra-Matic, puts out over 360hp and is a 13sec car stock which is pretty impressive for how much it ways. In my eyes the G8 GT is the ultimate sleeper as no one expects a sedan to move like this one is capable of moving. If you delete the Displacement on Demand (DOD/AFM) and upgrade the cam you would easily have over 400hp. This was going to be my next modification after the GM 5yr/100,000 warranty is over in 4/2014. If you know anything about these cars you know they were plagued with lifter failures due to a poor Eaton lifter design my G8 was no exception and has had the lifters, cam, and other accessories replaced under warranty right after halloween as I developed the lifter tick. The work was all done by Courtesy Chevrolet and I have all paperwork documenting it. Before that the car received a coolant flush, power steering flush, as well as a transmission flush. When I purchased the car I received a lifetime engine warranty just have to check to see if its transferable like the GM powertrain warranty is. I have a set of 20' Camaro SS wheels that I was going to add to the G8 as well that will be included in the sale if I get my asking price otherwise I will sell those separate. Below is a list of options my G8 has mine is fully loaded just without a sunroof.
Options: Black Onyx Leather Interior, Dual Front Heated Seats, Dual Climate Control, Six Disc CD Player w/MP3 Playback Capability, Sport Metallic Pedals, Leather Wrapped Sport Steering Wheel, Leather Wrapped Shifter, Dual Power Driver & Passenger Adjustable Seats, 19' Enkei Sport Wheels, Goodyear Eagle RSAs 245/45R19 All-Season Tires, Front & Rear Armrest w/Cupholders, White LED Front & Rear Footwell Lighting, Sport & Premium Package Minus Sunroof. The car is currently financed so I can not and will not accept payment plans. You will need to obtain your own financing or pay cash and then I can turn over the title and lien release. Im willing to work with anyone that is interested but again I don't have to sell and can hold on to the car as it is surely a collectors piece, was only made for two years before Pontiac received the axe. The car is also listed locally and can sell at any moment. So if your interested send me an message if you would like additional pictures, have questions, etc. |

Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson
Tue, Sep 25 2018Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher. Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
2020 Porsche 911 Speedster spied with an angry driver
Wed, Feb 13 2019Porsche gave us details and showed us a concept of the 911 Speedster at the Paris Motor Show. Today, we bring you spy shots of what appears to be the production version of that concept with a few changes on board. They're rather minimal modifications, but the Speedster's driver appears especially angry with our spy photographer as he extends his middle finger directly toward the camera. Sorry, not sorry, Mr. Test Driver. Public testing of pre-production cars always comes with photo risks, and Porsches tend to attract more attention than others. You'll notice what appears to be a Cayenne Coupe prototype we've previously spotted running around with the 911. The Speedster Concept we saw in Paris had epic retro mirrors and fuel cap on the front hood, but both those design touches are absent from this pre-production car. It's tougher to see, but we lost the vents in between the two humps, as well. Everything else appears to have made it to production-spec. We can't say we're surprised these concept car features probably won't show up on the production car, but it is a tad deflating. You'll notice the Speedster is based-off the 991.2 generation of 911 and not the new 992. Porsche did a similar thing when the 997 generation was coming to an end with a Speedster model paying tribute to that car's life. The chassis is said to utilize parts from the 911 GT3, and the wonderful naturally aspirated flat-six engine gets carried over from that car, too. Porsche didn't specify if power will be exactly the same as the GT3, but we'll be expecting about 500 horsepower and a 9,000 rpm redline. We were told the six-speed manual would be offered on the Speedster in Paris, too. Let's just say that we strongly approve of that combination. Production will be limited to only 1,948 cars and begin in the first half of this year. We'll expect a reveal with a full spec breakdown soon, possibly for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
