2005 Pontiac G6 Base Sedan 4-door 3.5l, Rebuilt Title, Not Salvage. on 2040-cars
Stanton, North Dakota, United States
Up for sale is a Pontiac G6 from 2005. First of all let me say I am the 2nd owner and have had this car since 17,000 miles and personally drove it since 2007. In the year 2006 it was involved in a minor front end accident. It was given a salvage title b/c the 1st owner refused to take it back so the insurance company totaled it. There was NO frame damage and the air bags are intact. Damage was all sheet metal and a plastic trim, headlight, etc. My husband took great care picking out this car and made sure it was safe and easily repaired. All the repairs were done by a licensed professional shop in 2007 -- and ever since then I have completely forgotten about any of the previous history b/c it drives like a normal car in every sense. To look at and drive the car you would never know it was in an prior accident. Even when I take it to the oil change place or mechanic no one ever tells me or notices there was damage or any issues. It is a normal car -- other than its previous history. As I was saying, in 2007 the car passed a highway patrol safety inspection and was issued a ''rebuilt'' title. Which for those of you that dont know, it means the title is transferable in all states and canada just as any other title would be.
The car has 98k miles and I had every intention of keeping it for another 50-100k miles. In fact we just did all the "100,000 miles factory recommended maintenance" with-in last 3 months. The following repairs/maint. have been done to this vehicle in last 3 months: new spark plugs, all new rotors, all new brakes, all new struts and suspension, change of all fluids, replace the battery. Also got a 4-wheel alignment and the car drives down the highway with no vibrations and straight with no pulls to either side. The brakes are in great shape now that all replaced and with the new suspension it drives like a new car. It starts up every morning no matter the weather. Never had issues starting it. Also in last 18 months I bought all new tires. The tires have 70% tread remaining. I spent over $2500 getting this car ready for another 100,000 miles. The reason I'm selling is b/c we had to buy a mini-van for our expanding family and with the van and my husbands car -- we decided it just doesn't make sense to keep this car even though we just did all this work. I do really like this car and will be a bit sad to see it go. But I can honestly say that this car is in great shape. There are no issues mechanically with the car. The exterior is in good shape and the paint looks good. No rust or any issues. There are minor imperfections to the exterior (small chips on front bumper) but nothing that is unusual for a car this age. The exterior looks fine. The interior there are no rips or tears, but the fabric has seen its share of kids spilling sippy cup drinks and snacks. The seats do have some stains from kids drinks spilling, etc. I think if you got a good interior detail job it would look a lot better, I just dont have the time to do this. The car does not smell or have any mildew or stickiness. The seats just need a deep cleaning. In closing, I want to say Im not a car dealer and dont sell cars with any regularity. Im just a private seller currently with 3 cars and I only need 2 -- so this G6 is being sold. I have all the maint records and this car was very well maintained at all the appropriate times. The car engine and transmissions runs smooth. When the car is idling it is smooth and engine sounds good. I do use Ebay alot and have 100% positive feedback. Ive been a member of eBay for over 10 years and completed hundreds of transactions without incident. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Good luck bidding. Thank you. NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys
Mon, 10 Jun 2013According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.
Pontiac should come back as a performance division for GM
Thu, Apr 6 2017For decades the Pontiac brand was known as GM's performance brand. From the 1964 Pontiac GTO, to the 1967 Firebird, to the 1984 Fiero, to the 2006 Solstice Turbo, and 2009 G8 GXP, Pontiac had a reputation for building exciting cars, with bold styling and performance to back it up. When the Camaro was killed off in 2002, the Pontiac Firebird died off with it, and the last Pontiacs were built in early 2010. But with names like G3, G4, and G6, Pontiac's performance image had long faded from it's earlier glory days. My idea for Pontiac's revival would be to bring it back as a dedicated performance marque similar to Chevy's Super Sport (SS) line up of years past. First, and most obvious would be to bring back the Pontiac Firebird. Offering the entry-level model with the Camaro's 275HP turbo 4 cylinder engine, then having the Camaro SS's 455HP V8, but also offering a halo model Trans Am that is a revamped Camaro ZL-1 along with it's tire-shredding 650HP, supercharged V8 and race tuned suspension. Secondly, I would bring back the GTO. Which I would base on the current Chevy SS, but I would use the full 455-horsepower LS4 V8 (rather than the 415-hp setup that it has now). Furthermore, I would add the impressive 650-hp supercharged V8 to provide real competition to the Charger Hellcat. Importantly, I would make sure that the new GTO had bold, distinctive styling that really set it apart. I understand that purists would want any Pontiac GTO to be a two-door coupe, but I think that they could forgive that if the new GTO was an outstanding American performance car. Next, I would take the Buick Cascada convertible, add much bolder styling, swap in the Camaro's 275-hp turbo engine, and tune up the suspension to provide more performance than luxury (without being harsh). And finally I would round out the line up by using the new 2018 Traverse , but use the new, bold Pontiac design language to spice up the model's looks, tweak the engines for more power, and again provide a performance suspension that matches the model's new sporty looks. Obviously, having a high performance Pontiac model line up would steal away some sales from Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac models. But I think that it would more than make up for this by also stealing away sales from competing brands. Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
