First off, lemme begin by saying that this car is my pride & joy. I have spent a lot of time & money making it bad-ass and keeping it running perfectly. I really really don't wanna part with it... but as I am moving abroad, I may have to. I could transport the car overseas (and I very well still might) however I figured I'd at least take a shot at selling it to a new & good owner before I make that kind of commitment. But should I fail to sell it, no skin off my back. I'll just take `im with me. So knowing that, no lowballers please. Will be futile & pointless to try. I have sold many a car before.

That being said, let's get down to brass tacks. The car has ZERO problems with it. Runs like a dream. Smooth as silk, and powerful as all hell (for a V6 anyway.) Yes, the car is a V6, not an 8 banger. But it does have the body parts of the V8 GT version. So it does not require the premium grade gasoline, which is a good thing these days. Any & all work that I have ever had done on this car, be it repairs or custom work, I have receipts for. It has new seals, thermostat, fuel filter, etc. Mileage is only about 64,400 at this point. It doesn't get driven a whole lot. Still has well over 3000 miles before it will even need an oil change, and I've only been using full synthetics in it as well, so no deposits. Block is clean as a whistle.

As you can see from the photos, the cars doors have been converted to that of a Lamborghini type of vertical swivel. Scissor doors I believe they are called. Not gullwing, like a DeLorean. The dual chrome exhausts are also not stock, and were quite pricey, as was the work on the doors. Brake & gas pedals are also custom done. Transformer Decepticon 3D logos as well. The large front one is removable, as it's on a black license plate. Leather interior with absolutely no tears nor rips. No cracks nor blemishes on the dash or anywhere for that matter. Interior is pristine. Floor mats may need shampooing though, but that's really all.

The car is also a convertible to boot. Works perfectly & smoothly. Also no rips nor tears in the ragtop. Chrome alloy wheels that have consistently been polished. Tires aren't new, but in excellent condition. Tread is still very solid. Suspension has been aligned & balanced. Rotors are good and have been reconditioned. New brakes! Comes with the Traction Control System integrated standard. CD player stereo system sounds absolutely incredible. All speakers work 100%, tweeters included. CD player works perfectly. Power everything! Windows, locks, seats, mirrors. 4 seater. Cup holder. Clean ashtray. (I'm a non-smoker.) And alarm system as well with keyless remote entry & armament. Also comes with a clean car cover.

What else can I say? The car's a beast, and a head turner. I lost count of how many compliments I have gotten on it. Especially when those unique doors are up. So anyway, as I said before, not really looking to sell it, but will consider it if my price is met. Cost me over double when I 1st bought it a decade ago. Runs like new. So if you're serious about owning this vehicle, and taking it off my reluctant hands, then please feel free to get in touch with me about it. I'd be more than happy to show it whenever I'm free to do so schedule wise.

Thanks for looking!

GM Recalls 1.5 Million Cars For Steering Defect

Tue, Apr 1 2014

General Motors Co. said Monday it is recalling 1.5 million vehicles worldwide because the electronic power-steering assist can suddenly stop working, making them harder to steer. The new recall brings to 6.3 million the number of vehicles GM has recalled since February. The initial recall - now at 2.6 million small cars for an ignition switch defect - prompted the automaker to name a new safety chief and speed up the review of cases that might lead to recalls. GM said it expects recall-related costs to total $750 million in the first quarter, including $300 million for the ignition switch recall. Included in the new recall are: - Chevrolet Malibu from the 2004-2005 model years, plus some 2006, 2008 and 2009 model-year cars. - Chevrolet Malibu Maxx from the 2004-2005 model years, plus some 2006 model-year cars. - Chevrolet HHR from the 2009-2010 model years (non-turbocharged only). - Some Chevrolet Cobalts from the 2010 model year. - Some Saturn Auras from the 2008-2009 model years. - Saturn Ion from the 2004-2007 model years. - Pontiac G6 from the 2005 model year, plus some cars from the 2006, 2008 and 2009 model years. - Service parts installed into certain vehicles before May 31, 2010, under a previous recall GM says no deaths related to the defect have been reported. It is still investigating whether there have been any accidents or injuries related to the problem. GM dealers will replace the power steering motor and other parts for free. Spokesman Alan Adler said owners will be notified of the recall the week of April 28 and will be told when parts are available after that. The Cobalt and the Ion, which are also involved in the ignition switch recall, share many common parts.GM recalled Cobalts from the 2005-2010 model years for the power steering defect in 2010, but it's unclear why the company didn't recall the Ion at the same time. Federal regulators also opened an investigation into power steering complaints in the Ion in 2010, but didn't order a recall. Junkyard Gem: 1992 Pontiac Firebird

Mon, Dec 18 2023

Last spring, this series featured a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS in a Northern California junkyard, an example of the final model year for the highly successful third-generation GM F-Body. On a later visit to that yard, I spotted the Pontiac sibling to that car, a Firebird that was born the same year at the same Southern California factory. When the Chevrolet Division introduced the first Camaro as a 1967 model, the Pontiac Division got its own version of the F-Body called the Firebird. While the two cars were built on the same chassis and looked very similar, the first-generation Camaros got Chevrolet engines while their Firebird colleagues got Pontiac engines (including the innovative SOHC straight-six). The 1970-1981 second-generation Firebirds still had some Pontiac-only engines, but Chevrolet and Oldsmobile power crept under some hoods during that period. The third-generation Firebirds first appeared as 1982 models, and they drew from near-identical stockpiles of GM running gear (including the distinctly agricultural Iron Duke four-banger, which could be considered a Pontiac-derived engine). When the Camaro got the axe after 2002, the Firebird's neck was put on the same chopping block. When the Camaro returned for 2010, the Pontiac brand was sputtering to an agonized halt during its final year and there was no chance of the Firebird's return. This car is a fairly ordinary coupe, though it does have the mid-grade 205-horsepower 5.0-liter Chevrolet small-block V8 instead of the base 140-horse 3.1-liter V6. A 5.7-liter small-block was available as well. A five-speed manual transmission was base equipment, but few Americans wanted a three-pedal setup by the early 1990s. This car has the optional four-speed automatic. The MSRP with 5.0 engine, automatic transmission and air conditioning (which this car has) started at $14,304. That's about $31,868 in 2023 dollars. It was built at Van Nuys Assembly in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County. By the dawn of the 1990s, the Camaros and Firebirds made at Van Nuys Assembly had become known as the worst-built GM cars made in North America, and the plant was shut down forever soon after this car was built. Today, a shopping mall lives where the factory once stood. This car managed to drive more than 150,000 miles during its life, so it beat the odds. The thrid-gen F-Body was pretty antiquated by the early 1990s, but the fourth-gen cars handled better and looked up-to-date for the era.
