2000 Pontiac WS6 Trans AM

Ladies and gentlemen I'm selling my baby this one of very few chances to own a nearly completely stock and very clean T/A. Perfect for a project car or just a normal highway cruiser! It's a 2000 Pontiac WS6 Trans Am, 5.7ltr LS1 V8 with a T57 Automatic Transmission with 649XX Miles. I'm one of 2 owners since it came off the line I've had it for about 3 and half years now, non smoker. I have put over 7 grand into her, I have all the receipts for everything ever done to it. I have had the rear end completely redone to handle up to 500hp and 450tq with currently 390hp & 350tq. I have kept the interior and out almost completely stock and very clean minus a few cosmetic things on the exterior and a few bolt on parts. To start parts added: SLP Air box lid with a K&N Filter, SLP Loudmouth 2 Cat-backs, SLP Smooth Bellow hose, SLP Forced Air Induction. New Power steering pump, Newer Alternator (6k miles on it), New Tires bfgoodrich G-Force T/A KDW 275/40ZR17 front & back, with next to no tread gone and 17" stock WS6 polished, clear coated wheels. I've always used Royal Purple synthetic oil on every oil change every 3k miles. I have just a couple minor cosmetic issues with it. It has a good amount of chipped paint on the front end which you cant even see 5 feet away very minor, on the rear right side of the car there is a tiny minor dent only noticeable at certain angle. On the passenger side door it has a 2 inch small crack on it(Which is very common on all F-Body's). It has a tiny rock chip on the lower part of the wind shield. The right side tail light has a few inner cracks super easy fix but I don't have time to fix it, that's been there before I got it. Other than that she has ran pretty smooth for me and I still love it and there will never be another generation of Trans Am's so its already a collectors car and a classic, for 2 years straight every Sunday it was at the car wash since I've had it. This car has had many compliments and offers to buy it but declined. I hate to sell her but getting out of the military is costly and do not have a choice. Thank you for looking and have great time bidding! Message me if you have any questions, need to be sold to a great owner. NO RESERVE!! If you want it, bid now because it will never be on ebay again!

Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson

Tue, Sep 25 2018

Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher. Gordon Murray, F1-driven production and .. the Pontiac Fiero

Tue, Oct 31 2017

Gordon Murray's design and engineering chops are unquestionable. But does his carmaking approach owe something to the short-lived Pontiac Fiero, a scrappy little car program that emerged from GM against serious resistance? Murray had a Formula One career that ran from 1969 to 1991, with stints at Brabham ('69 to '86) and McLaren ('87-'91), that resulted in several shelves' worth of trophies for the cars he was instrumental in designing. He moved on to McLaren Cars, the consumer side of things, where, during his tenure from 1991 to 2004, he helped design the McLaren F1 and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, two cars that took learnings from his two decades in Formula One. What do all of these cars have in common? Three things: They are light. They were built in limited numbers. And they were (and are) exceedingly expensive—when the McLaren F1 debuted in 1994, it stickered at $815,000. Murray went on to establish Gordon Murray Design in 2007. GMD has created some interesting concept vehicles, such as the diminutive T.25 city car (94.5 inches long, 51.1 inches wide and 55.1 inches high), and the OX, a lightweight truck for the developing world that packs like an IKEA shelf and is working toward realization through a worthy crowdfunding campaign established by the Global Vehicle Trust. Now he has created a vehicle manufacturing company, Gordon Murray Automotive, that will use manufacturing methods that he developed under the moniker "iStream." Unlike a unibody, there are the "iFrame," a cage-like construction made with metallic components, and the "iPanels," which are composite. The panels aren't simply a decorative skin; they actually provide structure to the vehicle. Presumably this has something of the F1 monocoque about it. Going back to the three elements, (1) this arrangement results in a vehicle that can be comparatively light; (2) Murray has indicated that his manufacturing company will be doing limited-run production; and (3) to launch Gordon Murray Automotive they are going to be building a flagship model, about which Murray said, "With our first new car, we will demonstrate a return to the design and engineering principles that have made the McLaren F1 such an icon." Which seems to imply that it will be on the pricey side. According to the company's verbiage, "iStream forges an entirely new production method that defies conventionality with its Formula One-derived construction and materials technologies." It also sounds a whole lot like ...

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
