Firebird Formula WS6, Ram Air's are very rare. Only 1102 Formula Ram Air Coupe were made over 4 years(1997-2000) time span. 175 were made in 1999(compared to over 30,000)Trans AM Coupes with WS6, Ram Air , over 7 model years) CONTACT ME IF YOU WISH TO SEE THIS CAR, YOU MUST BID AND PURCHASE WITHIN EBAY RULES. The heart of this vehicle is the WS6 Ram Air, LS1, V8, with 320 horsepower (HP was not exaggerated as it is today, research the dyno info. for this model year), SFI fuel injection. The sound of the exhaust is as unique to this car, as the sound coming from a Harley is to the motorcycle enthusiast. The WS6 is an added package to the LS1 engine, which includes the functional air scoop in the hood, WS6 labeled high polished 17 inch aluminum wheels, Low restriction Dual Exhaust, Special tuned WS6 suspension, power steering cooler, and Z rated Goodyear Eagle tires. The 3.23 ratio rear axle was an added option. In 1999 they were out performing Corvettes at the Drag Strip, so GM had to pacify Vette owners with higher horsepower(and higher price) in future years. The car is also equipped with 4-speed Electronic Auto Transmission, 4-wheel anti lock brakes, and daytime running lamps to warn oncoming traffic to stay in their lane. This "Bird" has rarely seen anything but sunny skies, and a climate controlled garage with car cover. It looks and drives very close to the condition it was brand new, when I drove it from the Car Dealer's Lot.!!!! I am the only owner of this vehicle, and can give you any information you need about the car. I moved from having 5 indoor parking spaces, to another home with 2 indoor parking spaces in my new work location. I need the space in my garage for the family Durango, my F-150, and driveway space for my daughter's car, and my work car. DO YOU HAVE SPACE FOR THIS "RARE BIRD" WS6 RAM AIR???? |

This classic Firebird restomod swallowed a Prius
Tue, Apr 19 2016It takes an unusual eye to look at a 1967 Pontiac Firebird and see the Toyota Prius hidden inside. But that's just the kind of eye that a creative mechanic known online as "Bill the Engineer" has. Bill is updating his old Firebird into a true classic for the 21st century and has documenting the changes over at Priuschat and EcoModder. The TL,DR version of the story: he's replacing the worn-out powertrain with the gas-electric hybrid one from a Prius V, because it turns out the two vehicles have almost exactly the same wheelbase. Bill, who's from Columbus, Ohio and doesn't want his full name used, said in his posts on the conversion project that he's made many memories with this vehicle since buying it back in 1979. Since then, a few moves, a few decades, and some time in storage meant that the car would no longer function as he wanted it to. As he wrote, "when it comes to mice in the vehicles IT IS WAR." His solution is to make new memories and making a greener vehicle, and so we wanted to ask him how things have been going. Bill's been traveling a bit recently, but told AutoblogGreen that he's now figuring out the next steps for this amazing and complicated project. "I always plan things out before I do them," he said. That's the only way something like this can work. ABG: I think we have to start with what gave you the inspiration for this project. Was it simply that you had the two cars and wanted to see them merged into one cool mashup, or was it something else? "One day my wife wondered out loud if the car could be converted into a hybrid... The rest is history." Bill: I have been the owner of my 1967 Firebird convertible since 1979 when I bought it for $750.00. I drove it for years and made many memories. Afterward it was in storage for many years during which time mice at their way into the car and trashed the interior and wiring. I started working on a conventional restoration but always ran into major problems with hidden corrosion, electrical issues and an engine on its last legs. The car was never going to be as nice as I wanted going the conventional route. One day my wife wondered out loud if the car could be converted into a hybrid like our two daily driver Prii. That got me thinking about how it could be done. The rest is history... ABG: It looks like you started in late 2014. Have things gone well since then, or has it been one hassle after another? What has been the biggest setback, and what were the biggest victories?
eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
