Tonawanda, New York, United States
1997 Trans Am WS6 Ram Air with 20k, Arctic White, Rare car in rare condition.
Car has the highly desired M6 Six speed transmission, shifts flawlessly, Everything works 100% including AC and cruise, Car rides on new tires with less then 2000 miles, Leather interior is in excellent shape with minor wear at the most, Its very nice, no cracks in door panels or dash, The car is mostly stock except for skip shift eliminator, flowmaster exhaust retaining OEM tailpipes, and short throw shifter, and WS6 knob, clear marker lenses, Not very many left that are this nice and org, show or go, or both, pop the TTops and enjoy! If I had to pick on the car for car show purposes I would respray the front clip due to the normal nicks from driving, only a cpl tiny blemishes otherwise, that won't come up on a camera, and only noticeable when under extreme scrutiny, Car is sold as is where it is, I will assist with shipping at buyers expense, with that said the car can be left for a reasonable amount of time after auction, please bid serious as I take the sale serious, title in hand and clear, Car currently has 20200 miles, this will change as I do occasionally drive, but not much, and once reserve is met I will not drive it anymore, wash it and cover it for the next proud owner, $500 deposit due within 48 hours, it is non refundable, anything else feel free to call 716-603-3897 during normal hours. its very evident this car has been taken care of bye the previous owners as well as me, never a daily driver or beater, Car is for sale locally and auction may end early, $12000 is the BIN price. AS you can see my Feedback is 100% I'd like to keep it that way, Car is located in Tonawanda N.Y. 14150, The Buffalo airport and Niagara Falls airports are within 20 minutes. Ok to answer a few questions, There are no leaks on the car, garage floor is bone dry, not even the LT1 famed intake or rear main, I did replace the water pump about a 1000 miles ago, delco parts, tires are Nitto's, and around 900 miles left before oil change is needed base on 3000 mile intervals, I have more pictures and can take what you need, feel free to call me for email address or any info needed, I will answer any questions u may have, just please be serious and ready to buy, not many left like this and the 96/97 WS6 cars from SLP were pretty rare compared to the 98-02 cars, Ive narrowed this down to less then 1 of 200 based on color/interior/transmission I was sure I'd forget a thing or two, the "Trans Am" door emblems have been switched over to chrome, as well as the "Pontiac" inlay's on rear bumper, Also the calipers have been painted red, Also I have received several offers and I thank you for them, the legit ones anyway, however the price listed in the auction is the price, not many of these left like this most are hacked and modded, and I suspect only a few will consider a car like this, Note, door panels are not cracked. Window motors work both up and down very well, as do the headlight motors, no extra noises, I have been asked the reason for sale, I have no reason to hide anything I, I am looking at new trucks, this will help, with that said I am firm on the price and can survive without selling it, I am already regretting even considering this move, as I will just want another when things aren't as tight, Update: 9/13 To answer a few questions, I would drive this car anywhere without hesitation, I do not know if the t-tops leak to be 100% honest, This is a no snow no rain car, and unless being driven is garage kept, they don't leak when I wash it, Also the heat does work, Again I urge serious bidders/potential bidders to call, it is way easier to talk then type, Thanks |

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction
Mon, 01 Aug 2011For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Sunfire coupe
Thu, Feb 21 2019In a few months, we'll reach the tenth anniversary of GM's axing of the venerable Pontiac brand. G6s, Vibes, and Matizes continued to be built until 2010, but I'm noticing a marked decrease in discarded Pontiacs lately, as I perform my junkyardy rituals. Here's a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, photographed in a Colorado wrecking yard. The Sunfire was the near-identical sibling to the Chevrolet Cavalier, based on the long-running (1982-2005) J-Body platform. It was cheap and simple, looked pretty sporty (at least in coupe form), and every parts store in North America carried just about everything you'd need to keep one running. This coupe had to compete for sales not only with a vast and menacing array of imports but with GM's own Saturn SC2 (not to mention the Cavalier itself). Meanwhile, the J platform was showing its age more with each passing year. This car sports what must have been the complete line of Fatal Clothing bomber-nose-art/skate-punk/gang-tag-influenced decals, circa 2010. I actually photographed this car back in 2011, then misplaced the image files until last week. The stickers are very California-centric for a Colorado car, but then plenty of Californians — including me— move here. When you know you're a car's final owner, it's a lot easier to whip out the paint pens and redecorate the interior. Power came from the engine GM developed for the very first J-Bodies: the 2.2-liter 122 pushrod four-cylinder. 2002 was the last model year for 122-powered Sunfires and Cavaliers; the most affordable S-10/Sonoma/Hombre trucks got this engine through 2003. It even came with a remote, so bad Midwestern farmgirls could make quick getaways when caught in the act by enraged broom-wielding mothers. GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners
Fri, 28 Oct 2011This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
