1997 Pontiac Trans Am convertible I purchased the car wrecked with 18,000 Miles on it. It had undercarriage damage. The air bags were blown and all for wire wheels were bent on the beads and all four tires were blown. Tires were replaced with Goodyear eagles and original wheels. The front cross member and oil pan were damaged. I ordered new ones from GM Because the cross member had to come from a V8 convertible car. I replaced all lower control bushing with urethane and repaired the exhaust and I have driven it to it`s present mileage. I replaced the air bags but not the black box so the air bag light stays on. I also bought the ram air hood that is on the car the hood is the only paint work that has been done to the car. The rest of the car has factory paint and the skinned places on the front bumper were done when it was wrecked. The hood is functional and has a K & N filter. The car drives great and everything works. It has Am/FM cassette player in the dash and a 12 disc CD player in the trunk with controls on the steering wheel. The interior is like new except for worn bolster from my three hundred pound butt getting in and out of the car. It has hard plastic boot It has only been on the car once since I have owned it and it has been garage kept and not driven in the rain since I have owned it. I am 66 years old and in poor health and it is becoming increasingly difficult to get in and out of the car so I am placing it for sale. Payment by Pay Pal of 10% of selling price to be sent within 24 hours of close of sale and balance within 7 days of end of sale. If paid when car is picked up payment must be made in cash. If paid by check or money order car will not be released until funds have cleared the bank it was drawn on. Delivery is possible with the cost to be determined by where it has to be delivered to.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
Burt Reynolds' personal 1977 Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit for sale
Fri, Dec 5 2014Smokey and the Bandit is one of those quintessential 1970s car movies with insane premises but tons of fun. After all, the basic plot of the film is about distracting the police to transport cases of Coors beer cross country. While Burt Reynolds receives top billing, the real star is definitely his black Pontiac Trans-Am. Now, there's a chance to posses one of these muscle machines actually owned by Reynolds, and it's already proving quite popular. The car is a '77 Trans-Am with the famous, gold screaming chicken proudly on the hood. However, while this is a piece of Reynolds memorabilia, it's not really part of cinematic history. According to the listing, this example was used as a promotional vehicle and then given to Reynolds with a title showing him as a previous owner for proof. Still, there's 400-cubic-inch (6.55-liter) V8 under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. A plaque inside the driver's door proclaims the car as a "1977 Pontiac Trans Am Owned By Burt Reynolds," and there's a Bandit logo on the door. This is just one lot of Julien Auction's sale of Reynolds memorabilia on December 11 and 12 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Bidding is already running online, and the Trans-Am is up to $130,000, as of this writing. For the true Reynolds fanatic, the auction also lists the motorized stagecoach from his wedding to Loni Anderson. It rides built on an International Harvester Scout frame with an interior reportedly from Dolly Parton.
BMX rider flips for wrecked Detroit football stadium
Fri, Jun 12 2015Detroit is littered with derelict ruins. Abandoned automotive assembly plants, sure – but also former sports venues, like Tiger Stadium in Corktown, Roesink Stadium in Hamtramck, and the Silverdome in Pontiac. BMX rider Tyler Fernengel remembers going to see the Lions and Pistons play at the Silverdome in his youth, and competed there in Supercross as a boy. The stadium hasn't been used in years, but now, with his career just picking up, Tyler has returned to film this video – riding through its halls, jumping its stairwells and flipping over its grandstands and field. It's a fitting tribute to a once-great venue of suburban Michigan. Check out the footage in this latest clip from Red Bull.
