I am selling my 97 firebird. Engine is strong, cold a/c and needs a driver. It is an older car and needs some TLC but the car has 115000 miles on it. I will start with all of the things that i have already done to the car, and I'm not here to hide anything either.
The title is clean, no accidents but does a few cosmetic issues in the front only. More than welcomed to pull a car fax if you want. I can provide the VIN to save you time and also have this http://www.kbb.com/pontiac/firebird/1997-pontiac-firebird/coupe-2d/?pricetype=private-party&vehicleid=8291&intent=trade-in-sell&mileage=115000&category=hatchback WITHOUT the extras on the car already to give you an idea on the deal you are getting.
You are welcome to take it for a test drive and hear it run. The car is still registered in SC, my wife is in the military and I plan on going back to SC when she is through being here in VA. So you will have to register the car here and Im more than willing to assists with this as well if you purchase the car. I have a folder with all the services records for your convenience, showing all the repairs, maintenance etc that has been done to it since I have had AND the original owner.
I have put new struts, shocks, new tires, new spark plugs, spark plug wires, new brake pads, new battery, new lights, and of course a fresh oil change and more, its in the paper work :D. This alone has cost a hefty sum of money and not many people selling a car normally have it serviced like mine. It is ready to roll out but I do have a list of things that would need to be done but it isn't severe but i would suggest getting it done by the end of 2014 if your going to drive over 10-15k miles by then. I would suggest a engine coolant flush/refill and a transmission flush while your at it. It does have a power steering leak but its a very small leak, you can keep the fluid topped until your ready to fix it, "its the pressure hose btw, 35 dollars for the hose and an easy fix for a mechanic." Now, the passenger window does not go down or up, needs a new motor 35$. The trunk doesnt stay up because it needs two new rods, $30-$50 dollars for both and you can even do it yourself. The dash is cracked but I have a mat that covers it up and looks fine to be completely honest.
Recently though my car has been acting a bit strange. It acts as if it doesn't get enough gas and it has shut off on me a few times but does start back up. The car will of course turn back on and continue as if nothing happened later on. I talked to the mechanic and he looked it over and he stated a few things it could be. 1. Fuel filter-14$ "I will do this myself for you," or a vacuum hose 30$, but he also said it could just be the airflow sensor, $100 and this you can do yourself or get an autozone person to do it. It just sounds like the fuel isnt getting to the engine because there may be a back up or the hose isnt getting enough pressure OR since the airflow doesnt get the right mixture it doesnt send in enough fuel for the car. Other than that the car runs, and sounds AWESOME!
Cosmetic issues are..... A tree branch fell on the car during a storm, it dented the hood and broke the passenger light. I did replace the passenger light and panel etc but there is no stopper for the motor, so the light will go up and down etc but wont stay still. I have unplugged the motor so you can manually just put up the light for now. I'm sure a mechanic can look at the light and put something in place for the light to hit, so it knows where to stop. In the picture you see a "low oil" this has been displayed on the car since I even bought it from the owner, I dont know how to reset this but dont be alarmed thinking the car has been low on oil, the alert comes and goes. As the engine gets warmer it does go away. Probably a false display but I could never figure out how to reset it or get it to stop displaying. If the hood bothers you, you can go to a junk yard or buy an after market hood for under $200.
I have had this car for 7 years and its ready for another 7. The price of the car will increase as time goes on because its almost considered a classic. I have done a ton of tune ups and upgrades to the car over time and I no longer wish to have the car. I have purchased a new car and wish for someone else to take this over. The buyer will definitely get a good deal. I have disclosed all the issues with the car to the best of my ability because I want to make sure we are both on the same page. The car is great, and if no one wants to buy, then I will over time fix the minor issues and sell it for more. I also have a 150-200 dollar off thing for shipping the car from Montaway car transportation, I can provide this to the buyer if you require shipping the car but I will not do this until I have received the funds for the car of course.
If you have any questions please text me or call me at 904-571-4288. You can also email me here on ebay as well.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.

GM replacing passenger airbags in over 243,000 Pontiac Vibes

Sat, Jun 20 2015

General Motors is repairing over 243,000 additional examples of the 2003-2007 Pontiac Vibe in the US and Canada to replace their Takata-supplied passenger-side airbag inflators. The company has no reports of irregular deployments in the models, though. These aren't actually newly included vehicles in the massive safety campaign. As a twin to the Toyota Matrix, the Vibe was already included in Toyota's figures, but as Pontiac-branded vehicles, GM dealers are taking care of these replacements. They have been covered as part of the Takata campaign in the past. Toyota expanded its own Takata recall to passenger-side components for 1.365 million vehicles on June 16. Earlier, General Motors also issued a campaign for 330,198 examples of the 2007 and 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, 3500HD, GMC Sierra 2500HD, and 3500HD pickups to replace their passenger-side parts. After exposure to moisture, it's possible for these inflators to ignite too quickly in an accident and spray shrapnel at occupants. GM Statement The Vibes are included in two Toyota recall campaigns - one for high absolute humidity (HAH) areas and one for non-HAH areas. Both are considered national recalls even though only vehicles in certain HAH states and territories are in the recall. Total Pontiac Vibe passenger air bag numbers for MY 2003-2007 (U.S. and Canada only): High Absolute Humidity 89,719 Non High Absolute Humidity areas 252,685 These are the totals, which include about 99,000 previously recalled. GM knows of no field issues - irregular deployments - with these air bag inflators.
