Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, United States
*View the car running at this YouTube link: http://youtu.be/PVP1dnVRQuQ I purchased this Trans Am out in Littleton, CO in 2007 and have kept it covered or in a garage ever since, it had 65000 miles on it when I bought it. I have babied it and only driven it in nice weather. It is blue(2002 Dodge Electric Blue) with gold phoenix decals, t-tops. Body is in fantastic shape with only a few minor surface rust spots underneath, the body and frame is essentially rust free. This car currently has 70,048 miles on it. Engine and Transmission have been completely rebuilt with less than 1,000 miles on them. Engine is a Pontiac 455 and transmission is a TH400. The interior is all original and in pretty good shape. The car runs great and sounds fantastic! Since I have owned this car I have also had the following work done with receipts for it as well: -Engine rebuilt. - At Aces Auto Engine Supply in Colorado Springs in 2009. -Transmission rebuilt - At Aces Auto Engine Supply in Colorado Springs in 2009. -Gas tank, pulled, cleaned, fuel lines flushed and cleaned. -New Electric Holley Fuel pump. -New upper and lower ball joints. -New sway bar bushings and links. - The rest of this work was done in early 2008. At Performance Auto and Machine in Colorado Springs. -New upper and lower control arm bushings. -New polyurethane body bushings. Also: -The wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust, 16'. -Tires have plenty of tread left on them. -A new set of headers in the box will go with the car (currently has headers that are in great shape, some of the wrapping is coming off though). - Dyno tuned by RPM MotorSports in Garner NC, it has 262.31 Horsepower, 352.48 Torque (this was done a few months ago, I have the dyno sheet). It was originally a black Trans am as indicated by the Cowl Tag: Cowl Tag: 1 79 10B 2FS87L051785 19B 19L 19U A51 CC1 B34115069 VIN: 2W87K9L114837 Imperfections: -Needs windshield wiper motor. It will come with the windshield wipers. -Will eventually need new power window motors. -Weatherstripping around Driver's door and T-Tops may need small amount of adjustment to be perfect. -There are a few minor scratches/chips (pictures included). -Front Passengers seat belt mechanism will need to be replaced. - Face for the radio was lost when I moved a few years ago, I don't remember what kind of radio is in it. - Speedometer and Tachometer are not currently hooked up. - Driver's side window will roll up and down just fine, but only to 3/4 of the full up position, it will need to be re-adjusted on its track. I hate to see it go but I never get a chance to drive it anymore, I have only put 5000 miles on it in the past 6 1/2 years! I have a folder full of receipts from all of the work as well. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I have plenty more pictures, so just let me know if you want to see anything specific. Thanks for looking! Buyer is responsible for shipping and or pickup of the vehicle. I will require a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction close, and full payment within 7 days. No international buyers please. This vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranties expressed or implied. |

The prized golden 1965 Pontiac Hurst GeeTO Tiger is headed to auction
Sat, Apr 4 2020Once upon a time, a Pontiac advertising executive named Jim Wangers created a countrywide contest with this gorgeous 1965 Pontiac Hurst GTO serving as the grand prize. The contest was centered around "GeeTO Tiger," a song by musical artists The Tigers. A 19-year-old took home the golden muscle car at the time, but now anybody can buy the rare car through an upcoming Mecum auction. As a way to boost sales and awareness of the Pontiac GTO and its performance parts, Wangers partnered up with Royal Pontiac, George Hurst, and Petersen Publishing in 1965 to create a contest. Royal provided the car, Hurst dressed it up, and Petersen distributed the contest in publications across the country. In order to participate, people were asked to provide a reason why they wanted the car and identify how many times the word "tiger" was used in the promotional song "GeeTO Tiger" (pronounced G-Tee-Oh) by The Tigers. A 19 year-old kid named Alex Lampone from West Allis, Wisconsin, won the contest and took delivery of this jazzed-up GTO at the 1965 NHRA Indy Nationals. This content is hosted by a third party. The Tigers - GeeTO Tiger The prize car was completely kitted out and described by Wangers as "the nicest GTO you could put your hands on." It had more than 28 factory options, including a black cordova top, power windows, power steering, power brakes, a tilt steering wheel, a power driver's seat, dual-speed windshield wipers, a custom sport steering wheel, a rally gauge cluster, a push-button AM/FM radio with power antenna, and a Verba phonic rear speaker. What makes it stand out is the Hurst-inspired gold theme, which includes gold paint, gold mag wheels, and a gold-plated Hurst Shifter. Under the hood, this GTO has a Tri-Power 389 V8 engine that pairs with a four-speed manual transmisison. It also has a 3.55 Safe-T-Track rear axle and dual exhaust. Throughout the years, this car has exchanged hands many times and has undergone a few changes. It's been repainted, and the engine has also been rebuilt, but Mecum says it's otherwise highly original. Ony 59,000 miles have turned over on the odometer. The GeeTO Tiger Pontiac is scheduled to go up for auction in Indianapolis this June. Visit Mecum for more information. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Distracted driver crosses center line and hits police car
Wed, Apr 6 2016Attentive driving and quick reflexes saved the life of a police officer in Hudson, WI, when an oncoming driver drifted into the officer's lane and struck his cruiser. According to KMSP, the officer was patrolling along a busy road through Hudson on March 31 when the crash occurred. Dash cam video from the patrol car which was released to local media shows the dramatic collision unfold. As the officer came around a mild left-hand curve, a white, 90s-era Pontiac Grand Am continued straight through the curve, across the center line, and directly into the officer's path. The officer was able to avoid a head-on collision, but the Pontiac still struck the driver's side of the patrol car. "Both the officer and the other driver are ok, however, this accident could have been much, much worse," said a Hudson Police Department official on the department's Facebook page. "So please remember to pay attention to your driving at all times when behind the wheel." Minnesota's Department of Public Safety estimates that one in every four crashes in the State of Minnesota are caused by distracted drivers. DPS believes that the actual number may be higher, but police often have difficulty proving distracted driving as the cause of a crash. Government/Legal Pontiac Driving Safety Coupe Police/Emergency
GM recalling 70k Chevy Malibus, Pontiac G6s over steering issue
Sun, Feb 15 2015A problem with the power steering system in the Chevy Malibu and Pontiac G6 has prompted General Motors and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to issue a recall for an estimated 69,633 vehicles. The issue revolves around the electric power steering assist, which could suddenly fail and increase the risk of a crash, especially at low speeds where the power steering is most helpful. The recall affects 2006-2007 Chevy Malibu sedans and Malibu Maxx wagons (specifically those manufactured between April 1, 2006, and June 30, 2006), as well as the Pontiac G6 (which was offered as a sedan, coupe or convertible) from the same model years and manufactured from April 18, 2006, to June 30, 2006. Owners of the affected units can expect to hear from the manufacturer with instructions to bring in their vehicles to their local dealers to have the torque sensors in the power steering system replaced. RECALL Subject : Sudden Loss of Electric Power Steering , 1 INVESTIGATION(S) Report Receipt Date: FEB 04, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V064000 Component(s): STEERING Potential Number of Units Affected: 69,633 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx vehicles manufactured April 1, 2006, to June 30, 2006, and 2006-2007 Pontiac G6 vehicles manufactured April 18, 2006, to June 30, 2006. In the affected vehicles, there may be a sudden loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist that could occur at any time while driving. CONSEQUENCE: If power steering assist is lost, greater driver effort would be required to steer the vehicle at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque sensor assembly, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. GM's number for this recall is 14772. Note: This is an expansion of recall 14V-153 to cover additional vehicles built between April 1, 2006 and June 30, 2006. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
