This is my 1978 Pontiac firebird that has undergone a lot of work. It was used to drag race a couple years ago but has not done that in the past 2 years. I do drive it on the street and had no problem getting it registered and inspected. Underneath the hood is a 355 chevrolet with custom cam and vortech heads. I have never had a mechanical problem with this engine and starts easily with the holley blue electric fuel pump and holley carb.  It also has an MSD 6AL with MSD coil and moroso plug wires. The radiator has also been replaced and has an electric fan which keeps it cool along with the moroso electric water pump.  The exhaust has full length headers with dual flowmasters and can be uncapped for open exhaust.  The 350 transmission has been rebuilt with a shift kit and the B&M rachet shifter makes it a lot of fun to drive and easy to drag race.  The rearend has been upgraded with 4.11 gears and positac. The fuel cell and battery have been placed in the trunk to help distribute weight.

The pain is a bright yellow called chrome yellow with bird on the hood.  The scoop through the hood really catches everybody's attention also.  The wheel are 15" weld racing with ET streets on the back and front has the skinny 4" wide wheels and tires.  The interior was completely gutted and then lined with spray in bed liner.  Yellow racing seats were then put in along with dash and new black cover.  The gauge panel was fitted with stainless steel and white faced gauges placed.  There are switches on the dash that control the fuel pump, radiator fan, water pump, and interior lights. The back seat was also removed and black panel placed.

This car has been very well maintained and looks and runs great.  The reason I am selling is because I never really drive it anymore and it stays in the garage. I am willing to deliver the vehicle for a ways and could possibly work something out with the buyer.  If It is going to be shipped I could possibly take it to where it would need to be loaded in lubbock but you would have to let me know.  If you have any specific questions please message me and would could talk over the phone or I could send more pictures of a specific piece.

GM expands headlight recall to 180k Buicks and Pontiacs

Thu, Aug 20 2015

General Motors is issuing an expanded headlight module recall to include 180,504 examples in North America of the 2005 Buick LaCrosse (2008 model year pictured above) and 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. Specifically, the campaign affects 159,584 of them in the US and 20,920 in Canada. When the part fails, the vehicles' low beams can stop working either intermittently or permanently. "GM is unable to confirm any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition," the company said in a statement, and there's currently no permanent repair for the problem. For now, dealers will replace the headlamp module with a new example of the same part. The automaker first announced this campaign in November 2014 when it affected 316,357 examples globally of the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse; 2006-2007 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X; and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.
