Have up for auction: 1969 Pontiac Firebird clone project car.
This is a project car, what you see is what you get.

This car needs a lot of work, but would be a nice car for a Father/Son build.

Car came out of OHIO and has an OHIO TITLE.

It has NO MOTOR and NO TRANSMISSION.
Car was a V/8 Automatic on floor.
It has no carpet, no headliner, no shift knob, no fuel tank.

And it does NEED work done on trunk pan, Someone had a fuel cell in trunk, so there is a big square cut in pan.

This Car DOES have all these as
NEW and installed:
quarter panels, door skins (driver's side does have a ripple in door skin due to damage, not installation), windshield, floors, rear inner wheel wells, all new stainless bolt kit for car, headlight header panels with rubber gaskets, frame rails, frame connectors, leaf springs and all new brakes, including a new 7 inch booster, and new brake lines (Some brake lines are NOT hooked up so CAR DOES NOT have brakes).

I do have what appears to be everything for doghouse. The car has a good dashpad. ALL interior is in car including seats, BUT all interior needs redone.
I do have the tail lights and bumpers.

I got this Bird in on a trade, so I do not know much about history of car.
I am selling Car to finish a couple other projects that I have going.

Car is being sold AS/IS.

CAR does HAVE  trunk spoiler, fender vents, and a custom made hood with scoops, and what I believe is a set of PMD Rally II Rims on the car.

Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?

Fri, May 27 2016

When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
