This auction is the first time this car has been offered for sale from the original owner,my wife. She ordered this car in early 1969 from Avery Pontiac,Columbus Ohio with a 350 engine a 4 speed transmission with positraction with a black vinyl top over silver, It was a beautifull car when it was new with its redline wide ovals. She never allowed anyone to smoke in the car in the 10 years she had it on the road and only a couple passengers if any ever rode in the back seat. The car was never hit or damged in any way and always garaged but yet the silver paint of that era failed within 5 years or so,I think the silver was repainted by a dealership in 1975 and promised not to repeat dulling,it did. In the summer of 1979 with 68,500 miles on itI drove it into the garage you see in the pictures, shut it off and that was it. I always intended to keep it running and cosmetically restore it but time has passed quickly and it is not going to happen. We pushed it out of the garage to clean the dust off it and take some pictures, couple of the tires on the original rally wheels were rotted so I put the steel rims on it to be able to move it. There was no condition issues mechanically when the car was garaged and the garage is under our house and somewhat heated and dry. The only issues bodywise on the car then and today is 4 very small rust issues, both front fenders at the bottom would require a proper patch,no way would they need replaced as the rear fender well area, rust on the lip. The bottom of the car is very solid, never undercoated to hold moisture, and shows mostly silver paint that I can see with a mirror, same with the trunk floor. The original black vinyl top is excellent and in my opinion should never be replaced ,same goes for the interior which would entail mostly just cleaning, from the black headliner to the black carpeting, excellent condition. I believe it still has gas in the tank which I am sure is now varnish and no atempt should be made to get car running without going through fuel system which is up to the buyer. I cannot guarantee engine or rings are not stuck even with the dry storage, years ago I removed the plugs and poured in a heavy amount of Kroil and cranked engine over but must have forgot to replace plugs as they are missing. This would be an excellent and solid car to easily restore. Thanks for looking, bid to own.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
Junkyard Gem: 1991 Pontiac 6000 LE
Sat, Dec 2 2017Sibling to the Chevrolet Celebrity and Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, the Pontiac 6000 sold pretty well during the early-to-middle 1980s, but had been relegated to the dealership bargain bin and fleet-car cul-de-sac by the time of Operation Desert Shield. Here's a final-year-of-manufacture 6000 LE that I photographed in an Arizona self-service wrecking yard. This car was sold new in Arizona, and it will be crushed in the same state, 26 years later. The LE was the cheapest trim level for the 6000 in 1991, but the original purchaser of this car sprang for a few options. For example, instead of the utterly miserable 2.5-liter Iron Duke four-cylinder, this car packs the 3.1-liter V6. That meant 140 horsepower instead of 110, plus an engine note more like a vacuum cleaner sucking up a spaghetti spill than an ailing blender chewing on walnuts. AM, FM, and cassette. Not only that, but the auto-reverse feature meant that your mixtape cassette wouldn't stop right in the middle of your favorite Roxette tune. This content is hosted by a third party.
