1968 Production Numbers

2-dr Convertible

Qty. Built: 16,960

As you can see this car is pretty rare.

This car was professionally restored over 20 years ago, but you can't tell. This care has been taken good care of.

The car was originally Verado Green with Ivory white convertible top. The trim was medium gold vinyl. The unit number is 8887 built in the 4th week of June 1968 in Lordstown, Ohio plant.

It is now blue with ivory white interior and power white convertible top. All trim is there and works perfect. The car has been parked in my car trailer for a year and a half so it will need a tune up.

It has polished weld wheels, no rust. Tires were purchased new in 2009, they have white raised letters. Very oldschoolish.  This car has been undercoated underneath. It has cherry bombs that are cut off before the rear axle and sounds awesome.  The is a scrape on the passenger front fender but no dent.

She looks just like the 67 Firebird convertibe in the band named Train's video "Drive By". She has been featured on the show Wheel Dealer. I've owned the car since May of 2008, but unfortunately due to financial issues I am forces to sell.

The carpet and interior is like new. Everything works on it. Could use a new rear and front bumper or just re-chromed. She is for sure a show winner.

I am sadden that I have to part with her, she is a really great car. By the way her name is Fergie.

She has a clean title and is on non-operation right now.

Buyer is responsible for shipping cost or pick up. The car is located in the zip code of 95245.

If you have any questions please ask before bidding. If you bid and win this is a binding contract and buyer will be responsible for payment in full within 5 business days.

JJ Best can finance the car if needed.

You can hear what she sounds like.

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
