CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Up for sale and your consideration is a beautiful 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible with the 4.1 liter 250 cubic inch 6-cylinder engine and powerglide automatic transmission. This car is an older restoration in very nice condition. Turn key drive home and enjoy immediately today. It runs great and drives down the road nice and straight. The engine has been upgraded with a Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold for more power and performance.  The powerglide transmission shifts well and is coupled to a 3.23 ratio open rear. Car is easy to drive and great on gas. Power steering and drum brakes. Very nice solid original floor pans, undercarriage and chassis.  Trunk is clean and painted and trunk mat installed.  Correct ballast weights in trunk. Brand new and correct power convertible top which works effortlessly.  Nothing like cruising a classic with the top down in the summertime ! Pontiac Ralley wheels with newer tires. Interior is very nice and complete.  Center console. All lights and gauges work.  The fuel gauge only works from 1/2 tank to empty.  If fuel level is over 1/2 tank the gauge reads over full.  Once at half it corrects itself. Chrome is very nice and shiny.  Paint is nice.  A little wavy in some spots but overall very nice for an older paint job. Car presents very well and looks very nice.  Some Sprint badging has been added for cosmetic touches. Complete PHS documentation has been compiled and is included with the car for complete documentation purposes. Please take the time to look at all the photos.  I have many more photos of the car that I can send to any prospective buyer.  Feel free to give me a call and I'll send them out.  If any prospective buyer has any concerns as to the condition or integrity of this car, I welcome the opportunity to show this car in person to any prospective buyer by appointment only.  I have a clean Pennsylvania title in hand ready for transfer to the new owner. Car is titled in antique status and mileage is listed as exempt as many older cars were without the sixth digit on the speedometer. Title will be processed into the new owners name by a licensed PA notary. A complete bill of sale will be provided as well to the new owner.

Please check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence.  After checking out all the pictures and reading the entire description please feel free to ask any questions on the car.  This car is sold in AS-IS condition with no actual or implied warranty or guarantee. The winning bidder using the buy it now option or the winning bidder at the end of the auction will be required to complete an Ebay required $300.00 non-refundable deposit.  The preferred method of payment would be funds in hand and a local pickup of the car. Shipping will be the financial responsibility of the buyer.  I will be happy to recommend previously used shippers.  I will also be happy to reasonably assist in the appointment set-up , pick-up and loading of the car.  Again if any prospective buyer has any questions as to the integrity of the car I welcome the opportunity to show the car in person by appointment only.  My name and contact # are listed at the top and bottom of the ad to make it easy for any buyer to reach me at.  Lastly any questions please don't hesitate to CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Thanks and good luck !

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.

Junkyard Gem: 1997 Pontiac Sunfire SE Convertible

Sun, Mar 5 2023

For the entire 24-year production run of the GM J platform (best known for the Chevrolet Cavalier), the Pontiac Division offered new J-Body cars for sale in the United States. First there was the J2000, followed in quick succession by the 2000, 2000 Sunbird and Sunbird. The Sunbird stuck around until the Cavalier got a major redesign for the 1995 model year, at which point Pontiac changed the car's name to Sunfire. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of those early Sunfires, a top-of-the-line SE convertible with the optional big engine and manual transmission. The Sunfire was an extremely close sibling to the same-year Cavalier (by the late 1980s, all the other US-market GM divisions had dropped their J-cars, which meant no more Skyhawks, Cimarrons or Firenzas), quite difficult to distinguish from its near-twin at a glance. The base engine for the 1997 Sunfire convertible was the pushrod 2.2-liter straight-four that powered so many J-bodies of the 1990s. That engine produced just 120 gnashing, valve-floating horsepower, not much by late-1990s standards. For a mere 450 additional dollars, however, the 2.4-liter Twin Cam engine and its high-revving 150 horses could be had by '97 Sunfire buyers. That's what's in this car. This is one of the members of the Oldsmobile Quad 4 family, though some fanatics will yell at you if you apply that name to the versions that don't have big QUAD 4 lettering cast into the valve cover. This is the most powerful engine ever used in production Sunfires. For 1997, Pontiac offered a four-speed automatic transmission for no extra cost in the Sunfire convertible. Buyers of all other Sunfire models that year had to shell out either $550 or $810 ($1,026 or $1,511 in 2023 dollars) for a two-pedal rig. That means that the buyer of this car really wanted the five-speed manual transmission (or just hungered for the $810 credit offered in the fine print for takers of the manual). Plenty of free-breathing engine power, five-on-the-floor driving enjoyment and the open skies above. What a fun car! This one made it to nearly 180,000 miles. For this car with the Quad 4 under the hood and a clutch pedal on the floor, the MSRP was $18,539 (about $34,584 today). Its Cavalier LS convertible twin with the same engine/transmission setup cost $17,365 ($32,394 now). This car has a bunch of options, including the 15" Rally aluminum wheels, so the out-the-door price would have been higher. The last year for the Sunfire was 2005, same as the Cavalier.
