I have up for sale an awesome 1967 Custom Built Pro Touring Pontiac Firebird..
This engine was built by Rodney and David Butler from BUTLER PERFORMANCE
in Leoma, Tn. It is a 455 punched to a 494 cubic inch full roller engine. Engine
dynoed at 608 hp at 604 ft lbs of torque at 5900 RPM. I have the entire blueprint/build sheet,
that tells everything that has been done, inside and out. They broke it in while dyno
tuning it in house. All prices for everything done ,are listed as well. I have all the
receipts for everything I've put into the car. Here is a list of the stuff i have on
this car.
Rock Valley Stainless fuel tank [19 gallon]
new taillights
custom [boxed] trunk area with a carbon fiber vinyl on the sides and carpet on the bottom.
new STINGER battery is located in the trunk ,behind driver side panel.
custom sub box is in trunk under the package tray.all speakers are top of the line [KICKER].
Dana 60 rear end with 3:56 posi .
four wheel disc brakes from a 98 Z-28
TCI 4 link with panhard bar located between the gas tank and rear end.
brand new aluminum drive shaft.
newly rebuilt turbo 350 with all the goodies, including B&M shift kit,and B&M 2500 Hole shot converter
Detroit speed 3" mini tub. i have 295/50/15 on the rear, and there is room for a 12" tire max.
Doug's ceramic coated headers,hooked up to a 3" mandrel bent,flowmaster exhaust,with 40 series flowmaster mufflers.
new dash pad, carpet, and new dyna mat and hush mat under carpet.
brand new carbon fiber Auto Meter gauges.
new engine only has 347 miles, which does not match the odometer, cause i had a different motor in it when i put gauges in.
new headliner and dome light, for some reason, dome light doesn't come on. It hasn't bothered me, so i haven't fixed it.
custom package tray with same carbon fiber vinyl that is in trunk area.
seats are from a LEXUS IS300 and i had the back seats upholstered to match, seats are both power seats.
custom front kick panels with speakers. The kick panels are wrapped in black leather.
brand new Deluxe door panels, with Deluxe rear panels as well.
new door handles inside and out, along with brand new seat belts.
brand new rebuilt front end along with new tubular A arms, and brand new 1" 1/4 sway bar, and new shocks.
new front lowering springs are from HOTCHKIS , which lowered it 2".
new motion sensor stereo head unit with small video screen.
i had this system tuned to play LOUD rock 'n' roll and it does just that!! CRISP and LOUD !!
electric trunk release with release button inside the glove box . Ignition box also in glove box.
new GRANT carbon fiber steering wheel. Horn not hooked up.
custom center console from a 67 impala SS that i customized myself which has hydro dipped carbon fiber inserts.
the engine is a multi-port fuel injection from F.A.S.T and its awesome!! You can tune the car with the handheld!
center console needs the carpet in the [glove box] area, just haven't done it .
new air conditioning from VINTAGE AIR and it blows COLD !
MARCH serpentine pulleys.
crank case evacuation pump.
polished water pump.
custom intake manifold. I had BUTLER PERFORMANCE send me the intake and i had it professionally hydro dipped! Looks AWESOME!!
needs a better looking top radiator hose, just didn't get to it. Its just a stock hose and looks cheap compared to everything else.
brand new CHAMPION aluminum 3 core radiator with 2- 10" electric fans .
NEED TO GET BIGGER AND BETTER RADIATOR !!!! This radiator works fine for a 400 hp engine but not so well for 600 plus .
The problem with this radiator is that it only has 1/2" cores . It needs 1" cores . I talked to Rodney and he said
he'd like to see the engine run under 200 degrees, this radiator makes it run around 210 to 215 which isn't hot by any means,
but with as much money that was spent on this, it needs to be the buyers FIRST PRIORITY!!! I was told by a nearby
radiator shop that the CHAMPION radiators are known for having 1/2 inch cores [I didn't know}, I figured a 3 core radiator would
be fine, but he said he has people all the time that come in with the same problem. Easy fix!! Just get a bad a** radiator to match this bad a** car!!
This engine was built with reliability first and foremost as I wanted an engine that could handle HOT ROD POWER TOURS.
I can email anyone the build sheet along with the three dyno pulls. The build sheet has every item and price of each and every thing done.
This engine is no joke!! It gets down to business FAST!! REV limiter can be adjusted from the handheld inside the car. Actually,
everything is adjusted from the handheld device even the idle!
The condenser for the air condition is currently off the car, I took it off earlier to see if the car would run a little cooler
but it didn't change anything.. I'll try to bolt it back if car sells, then the system will just need to be charged again, no big deal
its really easy to get to.
And one more thing, when I was cutting through the carpet to bolt the seats down, I accidentally cut through the RCA cable
going to the sub amp. I called the place that installed it and they said that the RCA cost about 35 bucks with about 40 bucks labor
if the car sells, and the place has time, I'll get it fixed or just take off 100 bucks if you want to take care of it yourself.
You'll just have to let me know.
I'm sure I'm missing some things,so if you have any questions please call me at 1-417-576-0275
no low ballers ! Please don't waste your time or mine ! The car is for sale well below the money i have put into it.
NO TRADES OF ANY KIND! I HAVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY AS THE CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY!!!
Thanks and happy bidding !! Please note that I have included three pictures that show minor paint damage one is on the upper drivers side door & the other two paint cracks are on the drivers quarter panel that any body shop could fix.... Also I am having new door hinges installed this week!!

Woodward Dream Cruise Photo Gallery | Classics and American muscle
Sun, Aug 21 2022The 2022 running of the Woodward Dream Cruise just went down, and we were there from morning to evening drinking in the sweet sights and pre-emissions exhaust fumes. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Similar to years past, though, sometimes the classics arenÂ’t the most entertaining thing to look at on Woodward. ThatÂ’s why weÂ’ll have other mega galleries coming soon, highlighting the weird cars and (great) dogs of the Cruise, all the imports and exotics you can imagine and a special one for all the trucks of Woodward — perhaps even more so than in years past, the truck population on Dream Cruise day was quite high. Click through above to see all the classics you wouldÂ’ve seen had you been roadside on the day of the cruise. And if you missed this yearÂ’s event, make sure you check out what happens next year. You wonÂ’t be alone, as itÂ’s estimated that over 1 million people attend the Dream Cruise to either watch from the side of the road or to sit in the most glorious traffic jam in the world. Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?
Fri, May 27 2016When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Junkyard Gem: 2008 Pontiac G5 Coupe
Sun, Apr 9 2023In the grim early days of the Great Recession, the situation at GM's Pontiac Division didn't feel so great but there was some cause for optimism. The Solstice still had a certain glow, the Holden Commodore-based G8 had just arrived, and vehicle shoppers could stride into their local Pontiac showrooms and choose from eight different models bearing the iconic arrowhead badge. Yes, there were still new Torrents and Grand Prix and Vibes for sale in 2008, and of course the Cavalier-twin Sunfire had been replaced by the Cobalt-twin G5 by that time. Here's one of those G5s, found in a Colorado Springs car graveyard. It wasn't long after this car was built that everything went to hell for Pontiac. In April of 2009, GM announced that the Pontiac Division would be "phased out" over the next few years. Just to drive home the point, GM itself filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy five weeks later. GM had already offed Oldsmobile—a marque dating back to 1897, making it nearly 30 years Pontiac's senior—five years earlier, so everybody knew there would be no reprieve in this case. Just to confuse everybody, Pontiac dealers offered a G3-badged Chevy Aveo (aka Daewoo Kalos) to sell alongside the G5 for 2009, but by 2010 there were just two new Pontiac models still standing in the United States: the G6 and the Vibe. Just over 70,000 G5s were sold in the United States during the 2007-2009 model years, making these cars fairly rare. The Cobalt/G5 ignition-switch fiasco of the mid-2010s really hammered their resale value at the time. Sometimes the definition of "Gem" refers to historical value, not the happier kind. Speaking of ignition switches, the key is still in this one. That generally means that a junkyard vehicle is a dealership trade-in or insurance total that couldn't sell at auction. This one is a base model, which listed at $15,675 (about $22,040 in 2023 dollars). The snazzier G5 GT started at $19,850 ($27,911 now) that year. The engine in this car is a 2.2-liter Ecotec four-banger rated at 148 horsepower and 152 pound-feet (the GT got a 2.4 with 171 hp/167 lb-ft). A five-speed manual was standard equipment, but the buyer of this car paid extra for the automatic. GM stuck these little "Mark of Excellence" badges on the fenders of its vehicles starting in 2005, then ditched the idea in 2009. I have vivid memories of this logo from the seatbelt buttons in my parents' 1973 Sportvan Beauville.
