You are bidding on an ULTRA RARE '92 only one year color of Jamaica Yellow with Black interior Formula Firebird with a 5.7 liter engine and t-tops.  The only way that you could get t-tops with a 350 engine in an F-body in '92 was in a Formula.  According to compnine.com, there were only 11 Jamaica Yellow Formulas with 5.7 engines - 9 with t-tops and 2 hardtops. I have a copy of the original invoice from GM Archives, a clean CARFAX, and clean title in hand.

This car has been in indoor storage since 2007 and has been driven very little.  The previous owner installed new Fuzion ZRi tires, rebuilt or replaced the brakes as necessary, and replaced the water pump.  I have owned this car for a little over a year and only have driven it for a few miles, but it starts, shifts and stops well from what I can tell with no trouble lights on. The interior of the car is VERY nice and has no fading and the dash is not cracked. The front seats had seat covers on them when I purchased the car that apparently had been on the seats for most of its life as there are no stains or wear spots on the seats.  The stock radio is present and works, along with the electric antenna.  The headlights go up and down as they should and the door close tightly.  The factory N10 exhaust dual cats are still on the car, but the muffler has a hole in it and will need to be replaced.

As can be seen in the photos, the car does have surface rust in a few areas on the exterior.  There is also rust in the drivers rocker panel area below the door that will eventually require replacement if the new owner chooses to do a full restoration on the car, but is not an immediate requirement to enjoy the car now.

I had plans to restore this car one day as I have one of the two hardtop JY 5.7 Formulas made in '92 so I would have a matching pair, but I have come to the realization that with family including small children and other cars that it would be a long time, if ever, before I would be able to do this car the justice it deserves.  I just have other priorities now.  This is a 7 day auction with a very low reserve for a rare car with three of the most desirable options (color, 5.7, and t-tops) that were offered in a third gen. Please contact me at (229) 392 7111 with any questions and I will answer them as thoroughly as possible. My name is Jason. I require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auctions end.  I will be glad to store the car for a couple of weeks or so for the new owner to arrange shipping or in person pickup after payment is made in full.  Please check my impeccable feedback and bid with confidence!!

The prized golden 1965 Pontiac Hurst GeeTO Tiger is headed to auction

Sat, Apr 4 2020

Once upon a time, a Pontiac advertising executive named Jim Wangers created a countrywide contest with this gorgeous 1965 Pontiac Hurst GTO serving as the grand prize. The contest was centered around "GeeTO Tiger," a song by musical artists The Tigers. A 19-year-old took home the golden muscle car at the time, but now anybody can buy the rare car through an upcoming Mecum auction.  As a way to boost sales and awareness of the Pontiac GTO and its performance parts, Wangers partnered up with Royal Pontiac, George Hurst, and Petersen Publishing in 1965 to create a contest. Royal provided the car, Hurst dressed it up, and Petersen distributed the contest in publications across the country.  In order to participate, people were asked to provide a reason why they wanted the car and identify how many times the word "tiger" was used in the promotional song "GeeTO Tiger" (pronounced G-Tee-Oh) by The Tigers. A 19 year-old kid named Alex Lampone from West Allis, Wisconsin, won the contest and took delivery of this jazzed-up GTO at the 1965 NHRA Indy Nationals.  This content is hosted by a third party. The Tigers - GeeTO Tiger The prize car was completely kitted out and described by Wangers as "the nicest GTO you could put your hands on." It had more than 28 factory options, including a black cordova top, power windows, power steering, power brakes, a tilt steering wheel, a power driver's seat, dual-speed windshield wipers, a custom sport steering wheel, a rally gauge cluster, a push-button AM/FM radio with power antenna, and a Verba phonic rear speaker. What makes it stand out is the Hurst-inspired gold theme, which includes gold paint, gold mag wheels, and a gold-plated Hurst Shifter. Under the hood, this GTO has a Tri-Power 389 V8 engine that pairs with a four-speed manual transmisison. It also has a 3.55 Safe-T-Track rear axle and dual exhaust. Throughout the years, this car has exchanged hands many times and has undergone a few changes. It's been repainted, and the engine has also been rebuilt, but Mecum says it's otherwise highly original. Ony 59,000 miles have turned over on the odometer.  The GeeTO Tiger Pontiac is scheduled to go up for auction in Indianapolis this June. Visit Mecum for more information. Another Burt Reynolds Trans Am is up for auction

Wed, Jan 18 2017

Fans of Smokey and the Bandit, your car has arrived. This Saturday, January 21, Barrett-Jackson will auction a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am clone that, while not originally in the movie, was owned and signed by the Bandit himself, Burt Reynolds. Not only that, but it packs many modifications that should make this Pontiac drive the way we all imagined it did. This is a Trans Am clone, not an original. The car was built by Nebraska company Restore A Muscle Car, and started life as a lowly Firebird Formula. However, the company brought it up to Trans Am grade and beyond. Under the hood is a fuel-injected 8.2-liter V8 from Butler Performance that Restore A Muscle Car says produces 600 horsepower. Coupled to the big V8 is a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. There's even Hurst line-lock on-board, so this Trans Am should be perfect for on-demand burnouts. The car also comes with QA1 coil-over suspension, so it should corner better than the original, too. The outside looks roughly like a stock Trans Am, but it now has 18-inch wheels styled after those from the movie car, and the shaker scoop says "8.2" on each side. View 5 Photos In 2014, a 1977 Trans Am owned by Reynolds sold for a whopping $450,000. That car wasn't an actual movie car either, and lacked the modifications of this one. However, it was used as a promotional car and was given to Reynolds, so it did have some history with the film. This upgraded car is listed in the Barrett-Jackson catalog as "no reserve," so it's going home with a new owner on Saturday, regardless of price. Related Video:

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
