up for auction is my super clean 1967 Pontiac catalina 2 dr ht coupe. it has 85k original miles on it and was a one owner car.  I have all the original paperwork with the car  owners manuals warranty card etc.

Pontiac 400 engine runs great doesn't smoke or make noise 2bbl carburetor gets great mileage.  turbo 400 auto trans shifts great and is original.  the vehicle was a one owner car and maintained its whole life. brakes ,front suspension etc all seem to be in good working order. runs and drives great.  could be a fly in drive it home deal if the tires were fresh.  they are quite old and I wouldn't trust them.  I personally haven't got to go over the car bumper to bumper so saying that I wouldn't fly in and drive it home but id go from texas to Oklahoma or La possibly.. all the chrome and trim looks great on the car and I don't belive its missing anything.  again the car is all orginal and does feature the 290 horse 400 engine with  the desireable 061 big valve casting heads!!  I was going to hot rod the car into a 2+2 clone.  which are super cool!  car doesn't need much to make your dreams come true!  vehicle is listed locally as well so I reserve to cancel the auction at any time.  the reserve is low so bid with confidence.   buyer is responsible for pickup and or shipping arrangements.  I can suggest some transport people I have used that I think youd be happy with.   thanks for looking!!

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.
